Holiday RV Park, North Platte, Nebraska

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park many times over the years traveling to&from our home in Iowa to mountain West states and have never had a bad experience. The facilities are above average for a public on-interstate campground. The sites we have stayed in have all been on gravel and level with reliable water+electric service. We have stayed in both W+E only sites and full hookups over the years. The bathrooms/shower area, office area/store and other facilities have always been clean. Our favorite aspects of the campground are the mature trees and shade, clean facilities, and especially the in-ground heated pool. Our kids have always had a great time when we've stopped here for a night and have really enjoyed the pool. It'll be tough for you to find a better off-interstate stop over campground than this between Kearney, NE and Denver, CO. We camped at Holiday RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If traveling with kids enjoy the pool and check out Buffalo Bills Trading Post next door. Buffalo Bills is a lot of fun for adults and kids, and has some fun products and interesting historical information about Buffalo Bill Cody who lived north of North Platte for many years, his famous Wild West Show, and fascinating history about the area in the early settlement era of the wild west days.

Buffalo Hills Campground, Sterling, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here twice in the past traveling from Iowa to mountain west states and back and have had good overnight stays each time. The very negative reviews I don't fully agree with although I wouldn't claim this is a top-notch campground without any need of improvement. The sites we have stayed in have been long pull-throughs, mostly level and on gravel/dirt. We didn't experience any significant issues with either site we have rented. Some reviewers ave commented on road noise from I76, but we didn't have any issues with this. The bathrooms/showers looked clean enough, but we didn't use them. One huge positive for this campground is it has a very nice in-ground concrete pool with a diving board. I don't recall any other campgrounds open to the public we have stayed at that had a pool with a diving board. We found the pool and surrounding area to be in good shape, clean, and our whole family really enjoyed this feature of the park. Considering this campground being in a barren waste-land between Lincoln/Kearney/North Platte, NE and Denver it is a good place to stop for the night with adequate sites, restrooms/bathhouse, and an above average pool for about any interstate public campground. I would recommend it for a night if you need to stop in the general area when passing through...

Don't stay here if you have high-end expectations.

Do stay here if you want an acceptable site and restroom/bath facilities, don't mind not having a lot of campground workers and services at your beck and call, and would enjoy a very nice swimming pool with a diving board. We camped at Buffalo Hills Campground in a Travel Trailer.
