Charles Mill Lake Park and Campgrounds, Mansfield, Ohio

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for an overnight and it was ok, but not especially nice. The main campground is only used by long term campers and was not available for us. We had to turn around and head back out to go to the Eagle Point section of the park. On the way out we tried to fill at the main spigot near the entry, but never got water to come out. We Were able to fill when we arrived at the Eagle Point section, though. This campground area had several long term tenants (some neat and some very trashy looking campers). Our spot was fairly level, but others in the same area were not. There are Canada Geese everywhere, along with their poop. It wasn't bad for just an overnight, but for the price I expected more. Only 30A and no water or sewer. We camped at Charles Mill Lake Park and Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground, Yuma, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Just a one night stopover but one of the best places we've camped. We arrived after the office closed, but the owner met us and led us to our site right away. Very friendly staff and excellent FHU site. We had a flat, level, concrete, pull-thru that served our purposes well. Longer stays appeared to get the shadier spots, but we didn't mind that for just an evening stop. This park is close to Civil War battlegrounds, and between Nashville and Memphis so convenient to both. Out in the country, though, so quiet and peaceful. Nice pond and pier for fishing. Overall great place. We camped at Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Hadley's Point Campground, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 4 nights while visiting Acadia National Park. The campground is quite convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia and there is a shuttle bus (free) that runs every 30 minutes between the campground and various attractions. We were very pleased with the level of service and friendliness of the campground staff. Our site was level and easy to park the rig. The campground provides a honey wagon service for an additional charge. We did not use it as we had enough holding space. There is a dump station on site that we used when leaving. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss sunrise on Cadillac Mountain. Plan to leave the campground very early so you can arrive at the mountain at least an hour before sunrise - otherwise you won't find parking. It is VERY COLD on the mountain too, so bring blankets and dress warmly. Sunset at the small beach behind Hadley's Point is also not to be missed. Beautiful!

Paradise Park RV, Middletown, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here for 3 days while visiting friends in Newport. It is really a nice park and is very close to multiple activities. There is no onsite management and there are no restrooms, but there are very good full hookup connections and the park is in a quiet location. We had ample room to park both the trailer and the truck. The site we were on was partially concrete and partially grass. It rained hard one night and we had no problems with mud or getting stuck. The reservation process was easy - all handled by email (they were very helpful and responsive). We even changed our dates once and she was very accommodating. We camped at Paradise Park RV in a Fifth Wheel.

Sampson State Park, Romulus, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 nights as we'd always heard how pretty the finger lakes area was. We liked this park because it was in a rural area and yet right on the lake. One note of caution is that if you come to the park from the north on 96A, there is a low-clearance railroad bridge (12' 11"). Take Deal Rd to the right, then left on. Lake Rd, then left on Kennedy and that will take you around it. We had a nice, shady spot with a fire ring and picnic table. You will need a longer electrical cable since the boxes are on shared pedestals and ours was on the opposite side of our connection point. You will most likely need to fill before coming to your site unless you have a lot of hose. Only a few spigots in the Campground. You can fill at the fresh water spigot near the dump stations, which was easy for us. No waiting for either the fill station on arrival or the dump station on departure, but we arrived Sunday evening and departed Wednesday morning before 9am. Overall very nice place and we would camp here again if in the area. We camped at Sampson State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Northern KY RV Park (formerly Cincinnati South Campground), Dry Ridge, Kentucky

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

The park is no longer called Cincinnati South, but Northern Kentucky RV Park. Under new ownership. Other reviews about traffic and train noise are valid, but we didn't have a problem with our a/c running. The park is just beautiful and so well kept. The owners are wonderful people and very helpful. The young man who led us to our site was respectful and helpful. We had an electrical issue the first night and the gentleman who came to help was so kind. We really felt welcomed here. Our site was gravel and level. Utilities worked great. We camped at Northern KY RV Park (formerly Cincinnati South Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Clifton RV Park, Clifton, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Probably the most friendly and helpful RV campground hosts ever! The sites are off the road and behind a screen of trees, so even though the campground is right on a main state highway, the noise is minimal. When you're at the sites, it's a peaceful, country setting. A lot of deer come through and the hummingbirds will come to your feeder if you put one out. We have stayed over a weekend two or three times and love it here. About 30 minutes from Waco, but out in the country. We camped at Clifton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Brady's at Lakeside, Glen Elder, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here for just one night and it was fine. They have about 5 or 6 gravel spots and a few were taken by what looked like long-term residents. The sites are located behind a bait and tackle store and it appears the owners live on site in a mobile home behind the parking spots. Power, water and cable TV was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is a "for sale" sign in front of the store, so not sure this place will be here much longer. There were no showers or restrooms that we saw, but we didn't need them. We camped at Brady's at Lakeside in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake Waconda is right across the street. Supposed to be great fishing. Glen Elder State Park entrance is across from this park. It's right on the lake and we might try it if we are in the area again. Be careful using GPS to find Brady's. It's east of the lake dam but GPS takes you to the west side of the dam.

Glacier Campground, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground nestled in the woods. Each campsite is somewhat close but he trees keep you secluded. This campground is about 1 mile away from the West Entrance to Glacier National Park. Sites appear to be all back-in and it's kinda tricky getting into your slot from the curved road, but not a major issue. Mosquitoes were the only reason I didn't give this campground a perfect score. It's probably due to the amount of rain that came down the week prior and the week we were there (late May, early June). They were everywhere!! We camped at Glacier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Helena North KOA (formerly Lincoln Road RV Park), Helena, Montana

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel pull-thru sites were level. Just an overnight stop, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Laundry was very clean aith nice machines. A few permanent or long-term residents on the first few rows, but very quiet and peaceful. Each site has a nice area of grass and a picnic table. We used our awning and sat outside at the table. Overall nice stop. We camped at Helena North KOA (formerly Lincoln Road RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Bridge Bay Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great campground in Yellowstone NP. No hookups, but really not needed if you like the outdoors. It was cold at night (in the low 30s) and cool during the days, so no heater or a/c needed. Sites are not level at all and very close together. Bring a lot of wood or you may not be able to even get level. We were here on Memorial Day weekend and there were a lot of other people. Several camped in tents, but sites were very wet as May is the rainy season and snow is melting. Site A10 and A9 share a pull-thru which was quite a dance to get into. Our friends were in A9, so we made it work. If it had been a stranger it would have been awful. We had a bison in our campsite a few times and we loved it. A lot of hiking trails are closed until June due to bear activity and snow melt, but still a lot to see. You're in Yellowstone! We camped at Bridge Bay Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Angel Lake RV Park, Wells, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night and it was comfortable. Did not use showers and toilets, but stopped in to see them and they were immaculate. Lots of full-timers here, but rigs were neat and orderly. Sites were gravel had good space for my 3 slides. The owner was very friendly and guided us to our site. The park is right next to the highway, and the noise is noticeable, but we ran the a/c so it didn't bother us. We camped at Angel Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Called to reserve 2 RV spots while we were still about an hour away. Friendly, helpful staff got us registered quickly. The park is beautiful and had a lot of amenities including a pool and an RV wash station. Beautiful scenery and very quiet. We arrived late afternoon/evening and it was not too hot. Not much shade, so I assume it would be hot during the day. For an overnight stay it wa just perfect for us. We camped at Wine Ridge RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Joplin KOA, Joplin, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Nice KOA right off I-44 in Joplin. We stopped here at the last minute. Called about 5 minutes before arrival, and they were very accommodating. The owner and his wife are very helpful and the park is very nice and well-kept. I thought it would be loud since it's quite close to the highway, but they put us on the back row in the heavily trees area and it was relatively quiet. It wasn't very crowded as it was on a Sunday evening. We'd stay here again on our way through. We camped at Joplin KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
