Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort, Colorado Springs, Colorado
Date of Stay:
June, 2017 -
$51.00
Overall Rating:
Pro's: Beautiful park in a beautiful setting. Very well-kept park with lots of room and space. Good store and an excellent lounge with a great big TV for camper's use. Friendly and helpful staff. Had 3 deer within 10 feet of our RV at night. Very cool! Mostly shaded lots. Con's: Almost all gravel! Gravel everywhere and hardly a lick of grass! Even the enclosed "dog park" essentially had no grass?! The gravel actually hurt my dog's feet. And, she won't go to the bathroom except on grass. She was not at all happy at this park. It was a long walk from our site to the bathroom and the store. While there were multiple choices for WiFi, we kept getting kicked off the WiFi. And, there was no pool, but a hot tub. However, it was not open while we were there due to maintenance issues. No Verizon cell service at all from within the park?! Lastly, we left early because of the issues that they had no grass for our dog, but they refused to give us a refund for the night we didn't stay!!! We camped at Mountaindale Cabins & RV Resort in a Motorhome.
You won't have cell service and the wifi is not reliable. Lastly, I don't consider it a dog-friendly park.

Cotopaxi / Arkansas River KOA, Cotopaxi, Colorado
Date of Stay:
June, 2017 -
$50.00
Overall Rating:
We went to this park and stayed a total of about an hour before packing up and leaving! It was awful! The best thing probably about this park is the swimming pool. I should have realized when I saw their sign from the road. It looked like it was the original sign and hadn't been painted or cared for in over 20 years! The rest of the buildings looked very old and un-cared for. It really looked like no one had put any money into this park in years! There is literally no shade for most sites. There was also no grass except for at the dog park. The sites were not level by any stretch of the imagination. The put-put course was old, falling apart and had twigs and branches and debris of all sort all over it. You couldn't have played it if you wanted to. There is no cell service at this park; at least with Verizon. And, the Wifi did not work at all. Don't stay here. There very little redeeming value at/in this park. We camped at Cotopaxi / Arkansas River KOA in a Motorhome.
This park is in the middle of no-man's land!

Alpen Rose RV Park, Durango, Colorado
Date of Stay:
June, 2017 -
$50.00
Overall Rating:
Pro's: Plenty of shade and trees. Definitely a dog park. Very nice fenced in dog area. Very nice laundry and bathrooms. Very nice people and staff! Some of the best hand-made pizza I've ever had! You've got to try the pizza. Oh, the free popcorn is great too! Cons: While it is a park that has a lot of dogs, dogs are not allowed in any buildings or even on the patio or front porch?! Don't believe for a second that they have usable WiFi. It's simply not true. The only place WiFi if usable is on their front porch. And, they do have a pool, but it is tiny! And, they have no lounge chairs and only a total of 3 plastic chairs that are bolted down to the floor?! Over a 4 day period, I think I'm the only person who used the pool. They only have one dumpster for the whole park and it's pretty far away from most of the sites. (Good exercise, I guess.) Lastly, this park is pretty far outside of Durango. If you don't have a car or some type of vehicle, you're stuck. There are no real options for getting into town. We camped at Alpen Rose RV Park in a Motorhome.
Try the pizza!!!
