Midland RV Campground, Midland, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Typical RV park that caters to the oil industry workers in the area. The sites are dirt and gravel, small and tight. The park has a small dog area and a building with bathrooms and laundry services that are heavily used by the long term residents. The price is reasonable and the staff was helpful. We will stay here again for an overnight rest when traveling through the area. See our updates and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Midland RV Campground in a Motorhome.

I-35 RV Park, Elm Mott, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

A decent RV park right off I-35 and just a few miles from downtown Waco. The roads are paved and the sites are gravel. There were a lot of long term residents staying at this park. The park has a lot of outdoor amenities, but we did not spend any time with them as the weather did not cooperate. They have a swimming pool, fitness room, fishing pond, cafe on site and a very small bathroom for the short term guests. The park advertises strong wifi, but expect it to be on the slow side. This park is in a convenient location when visiting the sights in the Waco area and we would have no concerns staying here again. The park is reasonably priced for the location and amenities. We camped at I-35 RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I love the river views from this park. There are two rows of sites that face looking out over the Mississippi River. The sites are a mix of gravel and some that are concrete. Each site has a picnic table and grass areas between the sites. The park has working wifi and a small shower/bathroom in a small cabin structure. They offer fishing ponds and great views of the boats moving up and down the river. This is a very reasonable park and we will stay here again when visiting the Memphis area. See our full updates, pictures and reviews at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Motorhome.

Austin East KOA Holiday, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

Average KOA with a good location for visiting the F1 track. The roads and sites are rough due to a resurfacing project gone wrong. Each site has a concrete living pad with a grill and table with chairs. There is a fire pit at each site just off the pad. The park has a dog area, pool and playground along with a clubhouse that has very clean showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities. The park is a bit overpriced, but we will be staying here again for the convenience to the circuit of the Americas track. See all of our updates and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Austin East KOA Holiday in a Motorhome.

Grandma's RV Camping, Shepherdsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

This park offers the basics for sites and services at a very reasonable price. The roads in the park are paved and the sites are gravel. The sites are a mix of back in and pull through and all are very close together. The park has a decent bathroom, shower and laundry area with a working wifi. The range of the wifi may not reach to all sites, but you can get on the wifi if you are close to either the office or the bathroom/shower building. The park is just off I-65 making it a convenient base to explore the Louisville area. The weekly rate for us made the average nightly rate less than $30 including taxes. Given the price and working wifi, we would have no problem staying here again. See our full updates, reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Grandma's RV Camping in a Motorhome.

Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

Another great KOA. We stayed in an RV site and our visiting friends stayed in a cabin. Both were great. As is normal for KOA resorts, they have a lot of amenities for the family and this was no exception. They had a great pool, horseshoes, outdoor chess and checkers, basketball courts, bocce ball, pool and ping pong inside the club house, etc. The wifi worked decent and their bathrooms and showers were clean as expected. They offer a shuttle service from the park to the downtown area, which I highly recommend you use. We had a great time in Nashville and this park was perfect for us. We highly recommend this park and will be staying here again when we come back to Nashville. We camped at Nashville KOA in a Motorhome.

Catherine's Landing, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

A very nice RV park! The setting is gorgeous with the lake on one side of the park and dense forest surrounding the rest of the park. The sites are a mix of pull through and back in with a set of water front sites along the lake. The sites are concrete for the parking pad and have a picnic table and BBQ available. The park has a ton of amenities including a great pool area, pavilion, dog park, disc golf course, boat rentals, etc. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The wifi worked decent and the staff was easy to work with at checkin. See our pictures, reviews and updates at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Catherine's Landing in a Motorhome.

Lake Haven Retreat, Indianapolis, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Affordable park with decent sites that are good for exploring the Indy area. The sites are ground up asphalt and organized in a back to back pull through organization where you share a common hook up area with your neighbor. The sites are very close together with a small grass area and picnic table in the passenger side living area. We did not check out the bathrooms or laundry area. The wifi, however, worked. We camped at Lake Haven Retreat in a Motorhome.

Camp Turkeyville RV Resort, Marshall, Michigan

Overall Rating:

Very nice and new RV park in central Michigan. The sites are a mix of back in and pull through, gravel parking areas with a concrete pad living area with a picnic table. The park has great amenities including two pools, volleyball and basketball courts and a community room with tables and games. The park wifi worked well and the staff was very nice. We highly recommend the park to anyone visiting the area. See our updates, pictures and full reviews on our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Camp Turkeyville RV Resort in a Motorhome.

NET Camping Resort, Vineland, Ontario

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Good location to visit Niagara Falls and the surrounding areas. The park is in a quiet setting as it is situated around many vineyards and farms. Most of the sites in the park are permanently occupied as either a full time residence or as a vacation destination where people leave their trailer or RV on the site. The park has two areas towards the back of the property for the temporary visitors. We had a pull through site that was grass and gravel, flat and plenty long enough for our rig and car. The park has a nice pool area, several showers and bathrooms in various locations around the park, a pavilion for large groups and a laundry room. They advertise wifi but it did not work at all. See our updates, pictures and full reviews at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at NET Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Deer Lake RV Resort & Campground, Huntsville, Ontario

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Avoid this pit of a campground. We spent 4 miserable days at this park and will never go back. The check in staff sent us down roads that could not handle a big rig. After getting stuck on branches and backing out onto a side road, a maintenance worker helped us down a road that only had the issue of low hanging utility lines... He held up the lines with a long piece of lumber while we drove under them to our mud bog of a site. The site was so sloped that I needed to use very block I carry to get even close to level. We were in a large mud hole that was as large as our rig. Then we find out that they don't have sewer hookups and that their dump station is up a hill and on a corner such that big rigs cannot get to it. We ask about options and they tell us they have a mobile dumping service... for $30... only on Tuesday and maybe on Wednesday. We pay and wait on Tuesday morning, and wait some more, and wait some more and finally go to the office to check the plans for the mobile dump service before they finally showed up. The bathrooms and showers were never cleaned. I had the same grass and mud in the shower stall on every day. The only positive for this park, other than leaving, was they had working wifi. Stay somewhere else. We camped at Deer Lake RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp Hither Hills, Ottawa, Ontario

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice location in the rural area just 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa. The park, however, has very little in the way of working amenities. They advertise wifi, but it does not work. The water pressure was so low that we had to use our internal water pump. The sites are gravel and a mix of back-in and pull-through. Our site was a pull-through and was very long but narrow. We camped at Camp Hither Hills in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice location to be midway between Montreal and Quebec City. The park is a few miles on good roads off the main highway. The park is mostly long term residents with a smaller area for the short term visitors. The sites are gravel and back-in. The park has a lot of amenities for the family from the swimming pool, bocce ball, large chess set, ping pong, playground, etc. The wifi was strong. Riverside RV Park and Campground, Edmundston, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park is a nice location for an overnight stop when traveling E-W along the southern part of Canada. The park, however, is worth avoiding. The majority of the sites do not have sewer and even when you do, they do not allow you to do laundry in your RV. The sites are gravel and very long with many trees providing shade for the area. The water pressure is so low that we had to take showers with our pump and fresh water tank. They advertise wifi, but it did not work at all even with most of the sites empty. We would recommend avoiding this campground. See our updates, reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland. We camped at Riverside RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Ocean Surf Travel Park, Pointe-du-Chêne, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great location to explore the coast of NB. The park is walking distance to a very nice beach. The park has one section for long term residents and another for the short term visitors. The sites are backin and gravel with a picnic table and grass surrounding the site. They offer a nice pool and the standard amenities. The checkin staff was prepared and easy to work with. The downside was that the wifi was marginal at best. We would stay here again if visiting the area in the future. See our updates, reviews and pictures at our blog at thegilliamsisland.
