Alderbrook Estates Mobile Home and RV Park, Tumwater, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 2 times one month. The park is mostly long term mobile homes and RVs. it is well cared for by manager and a maintenance group. The people are friendly and a close community. There are 3 short term spots for people passing thru. The park is on a bus line; we easily traveled to Seattle and Tacoma using public transit for minimal costs. The park is fenced and large with much vegetation, open areas, and a stream. The laundry is open 24 hrs; inexpensive machines, work well. The shower room and the restroom are key entry. Manager is helpful and friendly. We had made reservations in advance but had to change dates later. The manager was able to adjust and accommodate us. The park is within a mile of Walmart, Fred Meyers, Safeway; also gas stations, Dennys and other restaurants, and businesses. Local library nearby. We paid $465 for month, plus electricity. Cable box loaned from manager. We camped at Alderbrook Estates Mobile Home and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Tumwater is a fair size town that embraces it's history, but also is modern. Waterfalls, parks, the old olympia brewery. Olympia is the state capital with a small downtown. Very walkable, has a large Farmers Market on the weekends, many summer festivals, good bus service. Helpful information center at capital. There are homeless in the Olympia downtown are, but they did not panhandle.

Staff helpful, friendly; shows your to your site when arrive, checks utilities with you. The week we were there, street cleaner machines came thru the park, very clean park. The restrooms and laundry room are coded entry; locked overnight. The bathroom/showerroom are large and homelike, well maintained. Large community room, work out area. There is a lake for fishing, small beach area for swimming, instead of a pool. A playground for kids, covered picnic area by lake and a firepit area. We camped at Canyon Springs RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very basic, all dirt roads and sites. Looks like new management is beginning to renew the park. Office closed on weekends. Had to call manager to set us up; pleasant. Gave us a park map which he said was printed wrong, and not corrected by the printer. Park very sparse but dogs were seen running loose. Did not try tv, was there only over nite. Women bath house was being renovated, men's room not yet. Laundry room open. Area quiet, off main road, easy to find. Half mile from ft Stockton and the museum. We camped at Road Runner RV Park (formerly Parkview Mobile Home & RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Lehman's Lakeside RV Resort, Marengo, Illinois

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed times 1 month. The owner lives onsite; work campers help out in field and the office, were fairly helpful. Cable services did not work in the park, laundry was well equipped, but machines didn't work consistently and brown well water ruined clothes. The roads inside the park are full of many holes. There were a few bad storms while we were there, downing trees (on a neighboring camper) and severe flooding. Has dump tank services weekly, also there is a dump station. We camped at Lehman's Lakeside RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground is in between farms, close to the city of Marengo and a larger city with a Walmart. Lots of small towns around with many attractions, and places to visit; ie Union has the largest railroad exhibit, Woodstock where the movie groundhog Day was filmed, Rockford. It is easy to take a train into Chicago. On the weekend, we got a $10 pass for both days, out and back from Crystal Lake. We took an overnight trip up to Milwaukee to see the Joan of Arc chapel at Marquette University.

Cahokia RV Parque, Cahokia, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for a month, staff was responsive to our requests; they are friendly and helpful to long term and short term residents. The owner is on site every day and involved in day to day work. The laundry room is open 24 hrs. Restrooms are large, need code for use. Pool is clean and cared for. No club house, but small "store" in the office and small lobby for sitting, watching TV. There is a covered picnic area over a small pond with friendly turtles swimming up to be fed. Also onsite is a great BBQ restaurant, quite popular with residents and the public. Park is in town, many stores and eateries close by. RVs, tent camping, and cabins camping available. We camped at Cahokia RV Parque in a Travel Trailer.

Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park, West Memphis, Arkansas

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for one week. Very large expansive grounds, several large open areas. Gravel roads, grass around a large fishing pond. Campsites are along the Mississippi River; there are benches to sit to watch the large barges go up and down the river through the day and night. The restrooms are rustic. The laundry room is above, you must carry the laundry up and down stairs. The machines are new and more "advanced" than other campground laundries AND they are free to use. We camped at Tom Sawyer's Mississippi River Park in a Travel Trailer.

Turkey Creek RV Village - Escapees Rainbow Park, Hollister, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one week. The staff is friendly, and helpful. The restrooms and shower rooms are homelike. The laundry room was well kept, machines worked well. There is an open clubhouse where they have socials: ice cream and music, game night, meetings. They also have a "resale" table where you can donate items that can be bought by other campers. We dropped off a few items we didn't need and bought a couple of plates we could use. The park is on Turkey Creek, canoes and kyaks use the creek daily as well as people fishing. The area is quiet although the train runs on the other side of the creek. The park is very close to many great attractions and activities. Provides a nice brochure of campground and well stocked area of attractions in and outside of Branson. We camped at Turkey Creek RV Village - Escapees Rainbow Park in a Travel Trailer.
