Stopover for one night while traveling across the country in our motorhome. Easy access from Interstate. Spacious sites. Grass between sites. Quiet even though near interstate. Would definitely stop in here again. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Motorhome.

West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $102.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a week in our motorhome and our family from Atlanta joined us and rented a cabin. The park is absolutely beautiful - perfectly manicured, two pools (adult and kids), a great little cafe for bfst and dinner, an ice cream shop and excellent customer service everywhere. The location is great for access to the East Entrance to the park and also to the towns nearby. I would caution that from the East side there is not much view of the amazing mountains in Glacier until the Going to the Sun Road opens - which it had not. But we did take a day and start out early and drove over to the East side which was amazing. My only addition would be a larger dog park so there is room to throw a ball for the "retrievers" who camp here. I also wish that the hot tubs could be used by kids in the colder weather with parental supervision. Mostly we would recommend waiting to plan your trip until the Going to the Sun Road is open. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

With two young kids and a dog, we tried to find stuff inside and outside the park. Loved the town of Whitefish - cute restaurants and we ventured up to the ski slopes where they had some summer activities as well. Recommend the drive up Lake McDonald on Going to the Sun road, Trail of Cedars hike (fairly easy and beautiful waterfall). Drive to the East side of Glacier - go to Many Glaciers and the historic Inn there is beautiful. Hiked up Apikuni Falls trail - steep going up but just spectacular once you get there. Also did an easy river rafting float trip - it was so neat. We loved driving to Polebridge to visit the famous Mercantile and the Saloon.

Radium Valley Vacation Resort, Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Huge RV sites and each has a covered "cabana" AND a sun deck. Gas grill at each site too. Our site was a pull-thru however we were in a 43 ft. motorhome and, if we pulled thru and drove down the road in front of us, we would hit a dead end. We ended up backing up and then pulling down the road which was behind our RV. The park is very well maintained both in the community center and the landscaping. Has an indoor pool and jacuzzi and an outdoor pool. We were too early for using the outdoor pool as it was still quite cool. The only real negative for us was that there was no free dog area. Our site had a great view of the mountains nearby. We camped at Radium Valley Vacation Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's a small grocery store in Radium Valley. We spent most of our time driving to Banff and Lake Louise. Both were at least 1 1/2 hrs from Radium Valley but absolutely gorgeous drives. We saw bear, moose, deer, and big horn sheep.

Spokane KOA, Spokane Valley, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We are traveling in a 43 ft. motorhome full-time. Our first site G5 was very narrow and hardly room for our towed car. I went back up to the office and asked if we could upgrade. They did so and we had an awesome patio site that was so spacious, with paved patio, patio table and chairs, and a cool swing and firepit. They were so nice and so helpful! KOA is typically more expensive than most other RV parks but at least you kind of know there is some quality. They had a Camp K9 for our dog so he could be off leash, and it was very quiet and clean. We camped at Spokane KOA in a Motorhome.

We spent 2 nights here getting ready for our trip to Banff, Canada. This was a great town to stock up on any RV needs, clean and get organized for our upcoming trips ahead to Banff and Glacier. Nice park. Even got my nails done in Spokane Valley.

Toutle River RV Resort, Castle Rock, Washington

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

The first night there was Memorial Day and the park was packed. Between the holiday revelers, the interstate traffic noise the the constant trains going by this was NOT a quiet place! However the sites were really spacious, clean and they have a private trail down to the river that we enjoyed with our golden retriever. He was able to swim in the river and that was fun for him since our days were spend seeing the sites in the area. We camped at Toutle River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Devil's Lake RV Park, Lincoln City, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 3 nights here while enjoying the Oregon coast. The sites were long but VERY narrow. We could put our slides out but not our awning. There was a tiny patch of grass and the rest mostly gravel. The only real place to sit in chairs was at the front or back of the RV. There was a nice dog area that our golden retriever enjoyed. Overall we felt the price was really high for the very narrow space. Owners were VERY nice though. We had hoped to switch to the few end sites that had more space but they were booked. Next time we'll book earlier... if there is a next time. We camped at Devil's Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Oregon beaches in this area are just gorgeous. Very dog friendly as well. Roads End State Recreation Area is great! Great place to watch the sunset. At Pacific City we could drive our Jeep right on on the beach and hardly a person in sight! Views from Otter Crest State Park - amazing. Loved the Depoe Bay area too. All of Oregon is beautiful!

Seven Feathers RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We've been living full-time in our motor home and stayed at all kinds of places. This was one of the nicest! Spacious sites, impeccable property, great customer service. All the other people who were staying there were super friendly. We went there to see Crater Lake and that was one of the most spectacular things we've seen in this country. Dog friendly - lots of nice walking trails for walking your dog! We camped at Seven Feathers RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Sounds of the Sea RV Park, Trinidad, California

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We spent 3 nights here in our 43 ft. motor home. I wish that the confirmation email had given us instructions on the best way to get there. For 2 miles we drove on a very bumpy, part gravel road. (If you come from the south - be sure to drive up Rt. 101 to Exit 734 and then south about a mile to the campground) I tried to call for specific directions but no one answered. The interior roads are gravel and narrow, and trying to get to our spot had us just inches from a tree. Our spot was nice but another large tree caused us to have to park very close to the door side as our slide couldn't go out if we were any closer to the tree. The grounds are pretty rustic but clean. Could definitely use some sprucing up! No dog park but some little trails at the upper end of the RV park. I could see the ocean from our back window and we could hear the sea lions every day. This is about 300 ft. above the ocean so no real access from the RV park. We camped at Sounds of the Sea RV Park in a Motorhome.

Loved the little village of Trinidad. Great restaurant is The Eatery (clam chowder is awesome). We also bought some fresh fish at Katy's Seafood. Plenty of beautiful places to hike, take photos on this picturesque shoreline. The Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is just amazing with amazing giant redwoods. If you want to walk and easy, unbelievable trail thru the redwoods - go to Cal-Barrel Road. Dogs can go too - but have to be on leash. Not very heavily trafficed so its awesome!

Olema Campground, Olema, California

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed 5 nights here to visit the Point Reyes area as well as the Napa Valley wineries. This was a good location to get to the National Seashore which was spectacular. The campground was rustic, with gravel sites, but well kept. Our site was a pull-in (back out) which was good for our 43 ft. motorhome. It was pretty quiet - even when a group of about 90 third graders camp and camped there. We actually enjoyed watching them running around playing and they loved our golden retriever, Gus! We camped at Olema Campground in a Motorhome.

Coachland RV Park, Truckee, California

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

We have a 43 ft. motorhome so we needed 50 amp and a long pull-thru. Our site was barely long enough for our motorhome and not very level - however we used some boards and was able to level it. The great staff noticed that our door was way too high to get in without using a step stool so they brought us a small set of steps to us. Worked great! We had an end site and no one camped right behind us so we felt we had plenty of room. If someone had been right behind us they would have been VERY close. We were near the ENORMOUS dog park that was so nice - all grassy, shade trees with picnic tables, at least an acre. Our golden retriever loved being able to chase his ball there! This park is minutes to Truckee - a great little historic town with cool shops and restaurants. We loved this area much better than the towns right on Lake Tahoe. This RV park had quite a few long term residents but it was very quiet, clean and beautiful trees there! We liked it so much that we extended our stay there for two more days! We would definitely come back here again. We camped at Coachland RV Park in a Motorhome.

New Frontier RV Park, Winnemucca, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

One night stay but a very nice RV park. Very easy access, long pull-thru lots and nice, level sites. They had a dog park but it was gravel and I don't know many dogs who LOVE to run around on gravel! Other than that it was really nice for our needs. We camped at New Frontier RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice place to stay in/near Denver. Sites were very close together. You do share a common space with the folks next to you. It was close to Golden, and easy trip to Denver to visit relatives daily near Wash Park. No dog park but we did take the trail up the hill to a nice area where our dog could be off leash. Quiet RV park too. Close to shopping, Camping World, etc. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fossil Creek RV Park, Russell, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Just a one-night stopover on our travels. We are full-timers in a motorhome so we've see a lot of RV parks. This is a run-down trailer park. Our site was pretty much dirt with broken glass and cigarette butts. My husband even found a bullet casing! We were afraid to let our dog out due to the glass everywhere. The permanent residents who are there do not keep up their mobile homes at all! There is trash everywhere around them. I would never stay here again. Lazy Day Campground, Danville, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

What a great place to stay! We only stayed one night and could have stayed a week. So well taken care of. Owner is so nice and all the grounds are well kept. This is a very dog-friendly place. They have a huge grassy dog park - big enough to throw the ball for our golden retriever. Our lot was spacious, and level. So quiet and peaceful there. We didn't use the restrooms but they looked very clean. The interior roads are a little tight but we unhooked our towed vehicle and easily navigated to our site. Love the handmade items the owner makes and sells in the gift shop/store. I had to buy a doggie bandana for Gus! Would definitely stay there again... only longer! We are full-timers so we've stayed in lots of places. This was one of our favorites! We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Motorhome.

Travelers World RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed staying at this park. The location was very convenient for getting to the Riverwalk downtown and the Alamo - but also is right beside the Mission Riverwalk - a great place to walk our dog! The campground has a lot of long term or permanent residents but they were all soooo friendly. The fenced dog park seemed to be a social place for adults as well as dogs! Nice playground for the kids who were staying there as well. They also had the capability to refill our propane tank - very convenient. Overall we thought this was a great campground.
