Overall Rating:
We stayed for the Fourth of July weekend in a travel trailer in a pull-through site with water and electric. There are no full hook ups unless seasonal sites. We paid way too much for a site that just has water and electric. There was some miscommunication I thought it was full hook up when I reserved it. The bathrooms and shower area are really dirty and very dated, with very thin, almost see-through, shower curtains. There was heavy usage because it was a busy weekend, but it doesn't excuse the fact that the water just trickles out for the showers. We tried to do some laundry because we had a bed wetting incident in our camper and all the washing machines were broken but there weren't any signs that said they were broken so we loaded our money in it and it wouldn't start we did get our money back but were unable to wash the items. The 2 beaches are very small and crammed. Staff seemed friendly but we didn't interact with them very much. Not very many activities scheduled, just a outdoor movie, hay ride, DJ dance. Seems like everyone has a golf cart and they're everywhere at all hours. We would not come back. Our automatic levelers did have a hard time leveling our camper in our site. We did have a very nice picnic table. We camped at Lake Joy Campground in a Travel Trailer.
We had fun traveling to Dubuque, Iowa for the day; it's about 30 minutes away. In the summer on Saturday mornings they have a great farmers market.
