Bar J Hitchin Post RV, Sweetwater, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in late after dark. The park had envelopes already made up with empty site numbers pinned to a map, so it made finding a site very easy even after dark. Our site was very level, minor side to side leveling and we were perfectly level from to back without having to unhook our truck. Be aware the location is adjacent to the highway and a Love's Travel Center so expect some noise at night. Before rolling out I was looking for the garbage dumpster and an employee in a golf cart drove out of her way to ask if she could take it for me. The park seemed clean, the grass was on the longer side but not out of control. We camped at Bar J Hitchin Post RV in a Travel Trailer.

Rocking A RV Park, Vernon, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A huge plus to this campground is how level our site was. Our site was level side to side as well as front to back. The WiFi is a waste of time as it's Kbps and could not download anything. We were disappointed in the playground equipment as it was rusty and poorly maintained. There is a train nearby which runs all night so expect noise. The grounds are clean and the staff is friendly. We camped at Rocking A RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are very close together so don't expect a ton of space. The sites are fairly level side to side only needed minor front to back leveling. Laundry facilities are small but well maintained. There is a fence enclosed children's park and an enclosed dog park next door. The Wifi was slow and unable to download anything. You cannot have charcoal BBQ's, they are a propane only and no fires. There are a lot of clear digital channels available for TV without connecting a cable or raising your antenna. We camped at American RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Durango North / Riverside KOA, Durango, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $76.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice campground. You have a great view of the river which is very swift so don't plan on using it to swim in. Access to the river near site 17 is a gradual slope which becomes a large drop off by the time you reach site 1 and the cabins along the river. Be aware many of the sites are very close together. Site 1 has an untrimmed tree which will not allow you to park on one side of your site if you have a slide out. If you are traveling with a trailer the hookup for sewer is in the middle of your site, which often means emptying tanks up hill. The sites are fairly level from side to side but do plan to use a lot of leveling blocks to level front to back. The pool is great for younger kids just learning to swim. The shallow end is only 3 feet and my 5 year old could easily stand up. The campground is clean and the laundry facility is large with only a few machines out of order. The kids park is well maintained, clean, and the equipment is sturdy. WiFi at the campground is good but can be slow during peak usage. Our AT&T cell services were spotty at best, going from LTE to no service at any moment. There is an ice cream stand which is only open on the weekends depending on staff size. Don't forget this is Colorado and you may have neighbors smoking pot next to you. We camped at Durango North / Riverside KOA in a Travel Trailer.
