Long Lake Campsite and RV Resort, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sorry to say that not much has changed since the 2008 review, maybe for the worse. Comparing reviews I don't think anything was really done in the past 9 years. The park is borderline adequately maintained. Still lots of homesteaders with permanent patios, junk around trailers, etc. Roads still very tight, not a big rig friendly place. Bathrooms were old and in need of repair. Floors were mopped with a bleach but showers were all discolored so not sure about cleanliness. No laundry facilities. Not really sure why they call it a resort, only amenity I saw was the lake. There is still swimming and boating and there is still a beach. (did not use) There are 4 or 5 docks with boats/rafts tied to them but no easement to get to the watercraft so everyone has to walk through your site as was in out case. We were in site 11 with a dock behind us and I was afraid someone might trip over our power cord or hose after dark. There were steps down to the dock 2 sites over but it seemed everyone still went right through that site. Ours was a shortcut I guess. There was also a strange site layout for the campground. Some sites looked like they were an afterthought and squeezed in or added on in the rv storage area. Vehicle parking was very tight. We only stayed one night in a 27 ft travel trailer and that was enough for us. We camped at Long Lake Campsite and RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
