Angel Fire RV Resort, Angel Fire, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
September, 2019 -
$65.00
Overall Rating:
Expensive but probably the best park we have stayed in 18 years of RVing. Big sites, very clean, beautiful landscaping, great views of the mountain valley, and great facilities. We were here over Labor Day weekend and saw lots of families with kids having a great time but park still quiet. After Labor Day it was just us old people but plenty to do. We hiked, played pickle ball, and sat out in the evening around one of the community fire pits. We camped at Angel Fire RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Played the Angel Fire Resort golf course which is a very pretty but difficult course. Glad we played but the $90 green fees were too expensive so will probably not play again. Good day trip to Red River. Be aware that the roads into this area include mountain driving with 25 mph switchbacks.

Nice place for overnight stop off I 20 or to spend a couple of days in Abilene. Checked in by a very knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly young lady. Not the prettiest location but not bad for the Abilene area. Park is clean and well kept. We camped at Abilene KOA in a Motorhome.
Mall and many restaurants a 5-10 minute drive from park.

Oasis State Park, Portales, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
August, 2019 -
$14.00
Overall Rating:
State park away from town. Not much to do here but great for an overnight stay and better than a crowded RV park in Clovis. Nice fishing lake that was pleasant to walk around in the evening. All of the facilities looked new and clean. Visitor Center was closed so self serve pay stations for camping. No sewer hook ups but there was a dump station but it was on the side of the road making it easy to dump on the way in but hard to dump on the way out. We camped at Oasis State Park in a Motorhome.

Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming
Date of Stay:
June, 2018 -
$41.00
Overall Rating:
Great place to stay to see the many things in Sheridan. The owner is very knowledgeable about local sites plus gives you information booklets on most of them. Not far off Interstate but is at a level well below the Interstate so no noise issues. As stated in other reviews, received fresh lettuce and radishes from the owner's on site garden. Only issue with this park is the sites are pretty close together. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Motorhome.
Downtown Sheridan is a great place to walk around with wide shaded sidewalks and numerous sculptures. Kings Saddle and Rope store is a very unique place with an unorganized but very interesting museum across the back alley from the main store.

North American RV Park & Yurt Village, Coram, Montana
Date of Stay:
June, 2018 -
$53.00
Overall Rating:
Nice, clean park with good spacing between sites. Nice views of surrounding wooded hills. Showers were very clean with good hot water. Staff very helpful. We had two problems with our RV while we were there. Staff suggested a tire store in Columbia Falls where we got great service. The staff also loaned us a ladder to use for our awning issues. Nice place for base to see the west side of Glacier. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

Sunrise Campground, Bozeman, Montana
Date of Stay:
June, 2018 -
$40.00
Overall Rating:
Not the fanciest RV Park but good for overnight. Clean park, clean restrooms and showers, and friendly service. Only drawback was a noisy location between busy railroad tracks and Interstate. Our fan drowned out the highway noise but were awakened several times by train noise. We camped at Sunrise Campground in a Motorhome.

St. Mary / East Glacier KOA, St Mary, Montana
Date of Stay:
June, 2018 -
$60.00
Overall Rating:
Big campground with spectacular mountain views and close to Glacier National Park east entrances. One of best campground stores we have ever seen. Very friendly and helpful staff. High camping prices but paying for location. Only drawback was very high winds for three days which is evidently not unusual for this area. Also had issue with power plug location which was too far forward so could not park our class C at rear of site where it was more level than front of site. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.
Great hiking at Many Glacier

Buffalo Bill State Park, Cody, Wyoming
Date of Stay:
June, 2018 -
$22.00
Overall Rating:
Have been RVing for 16 years and this is one of the nicest places we have stayed. Beautiful views, well kept, plenty of room between sites, wide open spaces around site, could hear Shoshone River from site, etc. Got one of the reserved sites at North Fork with water and electric. Only reason did not give it a 10 was no sewer hook ups but dump station available. We camped at Buffalo Bill State Park in a Motorhome.
Very scenic drive from Cody on South Fork Road.

Gravel parking lot and not much space between sites. Like another review said, no one in office when arrived in early afternoon, plus office door not in use due to nesting birds(?). One of staff saw me wandering around and showed me where to find my site information in the laundry room. Paid for a full hook up site but sewer hook up was so far in the front of the site, my sewer hose would not reach. Had to pull forward in the morning to dump. Had tried to stay at another RV Park in town but it was full. Wish it had not been full. We camped at Casper KOA in a Motorhome.
Trails Interpretive Center excellent place to spend a couple of hours.

Big Pine Campground, Custer, South Dakota
Date of Stay:
May, 2018 -
$39.00
Overall Rating:
Owners very friendly. Restrooms, shower, and entire park very clean. We stayed in the front camp loop which had a good view but heard highway noise. If we are in area again, would stay again but would request the back loop which is more secluded. Big pine trees at all sites regardless of which loop. Excellent Wi-Fi. Quiet in park even though full for Memorial Day weekend. Excellent base for touring Black Hills. We camped at Big Pine Campground in a Motorhome.

Hemphill County Recreation Complex & RV Park, Canadian, Texas
Date of Stay:
May, 2018 -
$20.00
Overall Rating:
Nice place for a one night stay. We stopped on a Sunday in mid May and were the only campers there. You pay at a self pay box located at the dump station. Nice setting in the park with shade trees and relatively level sites. Only negative was some train noise at night but it was far enough away, it did not bother us that much. We camped at Hemphill County Recreation Complex & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Santa Fe Skies RV Park, Santa Fe, New Mexico
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$46.00
Overall Rating:
Two parks in one. The upper section has your standard side by side pull through sites. The lower section has more disbursed mostly back in sites. Most sites have concrete patios and tables. The park is very quiet and away from the traffic, noise, etc. of Santa Fe. Still close enough in to get to anywhere in Santa Fe in 10-15 minutes. The views of the mountains in the distance are great and some spectacular sunsets. The park is very clean and well run although we did have some problems with our initial reservation. Have stayed here 4 times and will stay again on our next trip to Santa Fe. We camped at Santa Fe Skies RV Park in a Motorhome.
Ranch House restaurant a good place for BBQ and steak. Only 5 minutes from park. Marty Sanchez Links de Santa Fe golf course is excellent, reasonably priced, and only 15 minutes away.

Blanco River RV Park, LLC, Pagosa Springs, Colorado
Date of Stay:
August, 2017 -
$45.00
Overall Rating:
Pretty mountain views, clean and well maintained, and very friendly service. Space between sites is tight. You better like dogs to come here because everyone seemed to have at least two. Most dog owners keep dogs under control but not people across from us whose dogs barked a lot to where we did not enjoy our stay. Wifi worked well one of the seven days we were here. We camped at Blanco River RV Park, LLC in a Motorhome.
Get a Pagosa map and travel guide and travel the dirt roads north of town for beautiful scenery. We saw an elk herd off of one of the higher roads. Piedra River trail is a great short hike. Chimney Rock is a great historic site to visit.
