Piney Campground, Land Between the Lakes NRA, Dover, Tennessee
Date of Stay:
August, 2018 -
$16.00
Overall Rating:
Beautiful site, awesome staff, we have stayed several times and never had a bad spot! They have a new camp store with everything we needed. So, no more running to town for what we forget. The ranger is really involved and very nice. All the spots have fire rings and concrete picnic tables. There is lots of room between the spots. They have boat ramps into Kentucky lake. Lots of great fishing. Hubby caught Bass and Crappie. Others talked of great Catfish. We saw kayaks and jet skies having fun. The wildlife is beautiful too. We saw a mommy deer and her twin fawns. There were lots of big trees, but we were still able to get our satellite TV to work on rainy days. On Saturday night, they had a great band perform at the pavilion. We enjoyed sitting and listening in our lawn chairs. We aren't much for hiking, but we saw they have several trails. The reservations lady was very nice and told us there are 384 spots in this campground. We have stayed at Dogwood loop for a full hook up before. This last time we were in Black Oak loop with just electric. But, the gate house loaned us their blue boy to haul to the sewer dump location. We filled up the fresh water tank with a spiket that was close. We had a great view of the water and the beach. Highly recommend for families as there are activities planned for kids. We loved the bath houses because they were clean. They had a washer/dryer and it was only $1 to wash and $150 to dry. Just overall a very nice stay! We will definitely stay again. We camped at Piney Campground, Land Between the Lakes NRA in a Fifth Wheel.
We drove to Nashville and it was about a two hour trip. We also went to the LBL planetarium. We were told that Land Between the Lakes is 170,000 acres.

The campground is beautiful in a wooded area close to town. The staff was extremely friendly! Everything was very clean. The spot was level. There are tons of activities for families and kids. The beautiful river runs near the campground. And, the pancake breakfast was fabulous! The free shuttle to the beautiful little tourist town was greatly appreciated. The new ownership and management is doing a great job. Lots of updates and heard they will be doing more. We highly recommend this campground. We camped at Leavenworth / Pine Village KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
I loved the Nutcracker museum!
