Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for one night on the way back home. We stayed here 2 years ago and they are continuing to make improvements. We had dinner and breakfast in their cafe and the food was good and priced right. Great dog park for the dogs to let off steam. We would stay here again. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mother Neff State Park, Moody, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This park is 40 min from the Silos [Magnolia Market], it's great for Nature lovers, has restrooms that were spotless and beautiful fields of flowers. The downside is it's not a park if you have dogs. There is absolutely no place for them to do their business. Wildflowers etc. are right up to the road and the sides of your campsite. Yes, you do have a gravel area at your campsite with a picnic table and fire pit but I don't want my dogs to do their business where I would eat, the only other area that's open is the small playground and that also isn't sanitary for your kids to play where dogs have done their business. Being Texas and a nature area they have poisonous snakes, wolf spiders, ticks, scorpions and I'm sure a lot more bugs! We are from AZ so we are use to snakes etc but this park was a little too much nature for us. Also, you close to Ft Hood and they practice bombing into the evening and Space X has a rocket test site down the road. We got to experience a rocket test one evening! No launch just the firing of the rocket. The ground was shaking and you could see the steam and reflections of the flames against the clouds. We camped at Mother Neff State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Silos [Magnolia Market] are 40 min away, go on a Monday it's less crowded. Jimmy Don's is right down the road towards Crawford about 10 min away. Texas Ranger museum is 45 min away and Mammoth National Museum is about 45 min away. Waco Tours is the best, we went on their tour the last time we were here but didn't go this time. They also have a River tour available.

Emerald Beach RV Park, Navarre, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

We spent a wonderful week here and should have stayed longer! Great RV Park, office staff are friendly and helpful. We had site 71 right at the end of the row, next to pier and above the beach with it's own little patio. It over looked the beach and the Sound. Fenced in dog park and they had their own beach. Just be careful, the entranced into the water is narrow and it has concrete chunks. It needs to opened up more for dog safety. On the down side I rated cleanliness as satisfactory. The garbage in the ladies room was only emptied once during the week we stayed. We've stayed in less expensive parks and garbage was emptied every day. With what they charge I would expect daily garbage removal. We camped at Emerald Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Lake Buena Vista, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $136.00
Overall Rating:

Okay, it's Disney so you are going to pay a lot. Keep in mind this is an old campground not built for today's RV's. The inside roads in each section are very narrow and the sites are on the small side for a large RV. Our check in went like a Disney fairy tale gone crazy. Our 1st campsite in section 1100 was too far from the dog park (1/2 mile in 90 degree heat and high humidity) so we asked for something closer. Keep in mind when we made our reservations we said we had dogs. They gave us a site right across the road from the dog park in section 500 which is a dog section. The site was good for a small RV not a 35 ft 5th wheel! We tried but couldn't make the turn due to the narrowness and they have these monster metal fixed to the ground garbage cans that obstruct your turning radius! They gave us another site and right before we started to hook up a Disney utility truck pulls in and says the power is dead to that site and he found us a another site. This whole process took 90mins after driving for almost 7 hrs! Since the RV Park is very large, they do have shuttle buses, that take you to the main entrance to the park so you can get a bus to the theme parks. You can also rent a golf cart for $60.00/day to get around in the RV park. They have 2 pools, one for kids and kids activities and one quiet pool. The quiet pool is at the other end of the park and to get here from the Lagoon end campsites (where you get the ferry to the Magic Kingdom) you have to take 2 buses, the yellow bus to the front then another bus that gets you close to the pool so you can walk there. Lots of walking paths. 2 stores for supplies that you pay double for so bring all you food with you. 1 Restaurant, which we didn't use. A bar which we didn't use, and a take out connected to the restaurant and we got food twice and it was good. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Delhi RV Park, Delhi, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for one night on the way out and back from our trip. Great for a 1 night stay. Don't follow you GPS directions they are wrong. The park is located about 1/3 of a mile south of Rt 20 on the east side of the street. The only down side is the sewer connection and water connection were below grade and very close together. Unsanitary in my mind, Maybe Louisiana codes are different than other places. We camped at Delhi RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

CreekFire Motor Ranch, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Newer RV Park, great amenities, friendly helpful staff. Being new the trees haven't grown so there's no shade. Give it time and the trees will mature. Sites are spacious and long. Roads are great. We had no problem pulling in to check in. You pull in parallel to the building and there are 4 lanes if you pull into the last lane because the others are full it can be difficult for a long RV to make the turn. Lots of areas to walk your dogs and a spacious dog park, just be careful we found pieces of broken beer bottles in the dog park from old camp fires? Don't feed the wildlife, they have a large lake with alligators and snakes, which thankfully we didn't see but heard the alligators! It's a 2 hr drive to Charleston, beware Pick-ups don't fit in the parking garages and it's difficult to find a parking space. Don't bring dogs unless you can carry them. We took the Old Savannah Tours Trolley and it's A+. The drivers are great, they even have people in character at some of the stops that get on and tell you a story to enhance your experience. We camped at CreekFire Motor Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Forsyth KOA, Forsyth, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Great for a one night stay. We asked to have a site away from the interstate which we got. They take you to you site. Those sites are not shaded, roads rough, sites very narrow thankfully no one was next to us. It's very quiet. The longer stay sites are shaded and look a little wider. Dog park is fair, small for the size of the RV Park, pool was drained - maybe for repairs? Staff is very friendly. Warm Cookies delivered to you site after you have set up. Great Pizza delivered to you site. We camped at Forsyth KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Spring Lake RV Resort, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Perfect relaxing RV Park, very quiet and peaceful. Privately owned and the owners are great. We liked the RV Park so much we ended up extending our stay and thankfully they were able to accommodate us and we didn't have to change sites. They have 2 Club houses which have kitchens. They let us use one when our elderly relatives came to visit so they didn't have to negotiate our steps into the RV. Cumberland State Park is close, great trails, good food at the buffet. Smokey Mountains are 90 min away. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are too touristy for us, we enjoyed our drive thru the Smokies. Stop at the first Information center to get a map. We will definitely come back here if we are in the TN area again. I gave them a very good on cleanliness only because the trash bins next to the Women's toilets were not emptied for the 10 days we were there. We camped at Spring Lake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Birmingham South Campground, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Okay for a one night stay, older park, roads were tight but manageable, site was gravel not level for a longer RV drop off in the back, water and sewer good. Restrooms were remodeled and clean. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Very poor dog park, it was a postage stamp and not big enough for a medium size dog to run. They have a small store for RV supplies. We camped at Birmingham South Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Treetops RV Resort, Arlington, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

Nice hidden park, Close to shopping, quiet, lots of friendly full timers, beautifully maintained, WiFi slow so we used our Verizon hockey puck, great little dog park that has Astro turf - at first my dogs were unsure of what it was! Lots of trees and areas of grass it even has a little creek separating the 2 sides of the park. It was a tad confusing as you pull in, signs directed you to regular parking spaces and said to park and then go and check in but check was back up a little hill where you pulled in. they do bring you to your site. Has a pool we didn't use but it looked nice. Not sure how to get in the pool area since no directions were given. Codes were given for the laundry and rest rooms but nothing for the pool. The only disappointment was restrooms/shower. The North Restrooms near our campsite has 3 individual unisex restroom/shower combination. They really need updating. Floors were dirty, tile chipped, they looked original from when the park was built. I would have given them a higher score if the restrooms were updated and clean. We camped at Treetops RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Colorado City State Park, Colorado City, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

When we arrived for the night we were put in site 38, it was uneven and slightly in a hole. Due to possible heavy rain we wanted to change sites and couldn't get a hold of the ranger that checked us in so we asked the camp host if we could move. He told us which spots to choice from so we moved to a much better spot 46 that was level and close to the restrooms. Most sites are poor. When we checked in I was very concerned about the possibility of bad storms and asked what happens if there's a bad storm. I was told the Ranger lives on site and there is a camp host. When the weather is bad they tell you to go to the restrooms. The restrooms are ancient, they have cinder block walls but the roof with either blow off or in. Thank goodness that storm didn't hit that night, but it did the following night after we left and I sure hope everyone was safe. We decided to tough it out and take a shower in their restrooms so we didn't have to pump out in the morning in case it was storming. Well, I was very surprised as I was taking off my shoes to put on flip flops, a very large scorpion crawled out onto my flip flops. Needless to say no shower in there! We did walk around the campsites but not to the lake. Beware Texas has lots of ants. The campground was okay for a night with no forecast of storms. It was disappointing, it gives the appearance of being run down and not taken care of due to lack of state funds. One would think being in tornado alley they would at least have adequate storms shelters. If we are passing thru in the I'm not sure if we would stay here again.... Maybe if no storms are predicted. We camped at Lake Colorado City State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hacienda RV Resort, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Great RV Park, we've stayed here 2 years ago for a night on out trip east. Also stayed one night this time. Sites are wide and level. Staff is very friendly. Restrooms are clean, didn't use the shower, they looked clean too. WiFi is okay, didn't watch TV. They have a great dog run area - the only complaint is they have signs saying to clean up after your dog don't provide bags. In our travels we've never been to a RV park that doesn't provide bags. I would have scored them a 10 if they had bags. We did get a dog cookies for our 2 dogs in a zip lock bag with instructions for your dog. We camped at Hacienda RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pismo Coast Village RV Resort, Pismo Beach, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here with our RV group. This park has a great amenities, pool, store, restaurant. However we won't stay here again. The park is laid out very tight and you have to back in on your BLIND side, the road is narrow and other campers park their tow vehicle partially in the road which makes it even more difficult to park your rig. Most of the sites have a black gritty sandy composite that gets into your camper and turns to mud when it rains. All dogs are to be on leashes and they don't enforce it. 2 dogs came running after my dogs as we were walking. There is no real beach access, a creek runs along the back of the park that empties into the ocean and it had dead birds in it. Your have to walk thru it to get to the beach. The staff are friendly but not knowledgeable. We rented the group room twice while we were there and used their TV/VCR. There were 2 sets of directions on how to use the system which contradicted each other. The one security guard had no clue how to use the system and had to get his supervisor to help and he even had a problem. The room was used the evening before and not cleaned the next day, trash wasn't emptied and there was food on the floor. The second time we used it the room was clean. The town is nearby and walking distance, only one street of shops and several merchants had signs on their windows that said dogs are allowed if you can carry them. We camped at Pismo Coast Village RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages, Indio, California

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Great RV Park for a one night stay or longer. We stayed here on our way to and from Pismo. Wonderful grounds to walk around and great looking pool which we didn't use. 3 dog play areas, one large one, one that serves as a retention pond when it rains and then a smaller one for little dogs. Our dogs loved the larger one to run around in after spending 7 hours riding in the truck! Other campers were quiet however, the fire station is close and you hear their sirens and during the week you can hear the highway noise. We would definitely stay her again. We camped at Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Portal RV Resort and Campground, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here when we visited Arches and Canyonlands. The campground is back off of 191 and quiet, no road noise. It has 2 sections that flow into each other. A regular section and a Premium section where they say the sites are privately owned and rented out. We stayed in the Premium section which we felt the prices were too high. Yes, we did have a concrete pad. All the sites were spacious for both areas. The Premium section had it's own pool which we didn't use, looked clean. The restrooms and showers were very clean for both sections. The regular section has a pool in the process of being built. Their web site said it would be finished this spring, it's not finished. There are 2 swimming holes, one for pets and one for people. Both have a very unattractive farm wire fence. Not appealing at all. In the Premium section, the initial part started out great looking , this is what you see on their web site, but as you went further out into it the Premium sites the vegetation was less and the drip system was barely working. Also behind the Premium sites is a gravel area for a trailer storage lot, very unattractive. There's also a marshy area behind the property - very buggy and too dangerous if your kids wander. There are 2 dog parks and the solar lighting in the smaller one is very dim and the no lighting for the larger one. People also don't clean up after their dogs. The park has lots of rules, they don't enforce. Would we stay here again, maybe. We camped at Portal RV Resort and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
