Shreveport / Bossier City KOA, Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We had a delay and had to arrive a day late. Although they wouldn't give us a refund because we were beyond the cancellation policy (48 hrs), they rebooked us for the next night. The park is clean with lots of shade. Parking can be a bit of a challenge even with pull through because of the trees. The showers are great and very clean. We would stay here again. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Superior Bar and Grill has excellent Mexican food for a fair price. Be prepared to wait a bit (we waited 45 minutes) but it was worth it.

Gulf State Park Campground, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The park has really nice sized sites that afford a degree of privacy if wanted. We stayed in 218 that had wonderful shade all day. We were right at the tennis courts, swimming pool, camp store and laundry. . It's a perfect location for kids. No cable and if there's wifi, I couldn't find it. The pool has a big splash pad and much of it is shaded--great for cooling off after a morning at the beach. The beach is amazing. Sugary white sand, dunes that are being rehabbed and planted with swaying sea oats. Clear water, but watch for the jellyfish! They almost ruined our time at the beach but the dolphins made up for it. We saw lots of them swimming by. We didn't walk the trails but they look wonderful and they're building new ones that will cross the road over to the beach. We will certainly come here again! We camped at Gulf State Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Seafood- Gulf Shores Steamer in Orange Beach is excellent! Avoid "The Steamer" in Gulf Shores, our food was cold and tasteless. The Gulf restaurant and bar (Orange Beach) built from shipping containers is a unique and really fun venue. Don't miss it!
