Lancaster Campground, Lancaster, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The signs to the campground can be difficult to see. This campground is an excellent value when using Passport America or with a long term rate. It was very clean and well maintained. We would stay here again if in the area. We did find it much easier to unhook our tow car at the front of the campground just off of the main road. We camped at Lancaster Campground in a Motorhome.

It was a tight fit for our 40 foot motorhome but it worked for one night. Nice shady site and the woman who runs the place was very helpful and pleasant. Quiet location. We camped at Campbell's Green Oasis Campground in a Motorhome.

Whistler Gulch RV Park & Campground, Deadwood, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here because it was recommended by the people putting on a Rally located in Deadwood. We were told the campground was within walking distance of the tent for the rally. It was actually 2 miles one way from the tent. The sites are very narrow. The breaker on our pedestal would trip if we ran both air conditioners. We would not stay here again. There are much better choices in the area. We camped at Whistler Gulch RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Southern Hills RV Park and Campground, Hermosa, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful campground with nice wide and long pull through sites. Excellent staff. Everyone was very friendly and efficient with check-in. The stone at this campground really kept the dust and dirt down so much better than other campgrounds in the area. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Definitely visit the steak restaurant just in front of the campground. It is excellent. The pizza place about a mile north was also very good.

Autumn Woods RV Park, Rochester, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were charged for a pull through site even though there was no way that anyone could make the turn into the site we were assigned without disconnecting. The office manager didn't appear to understand that a 40 foot Class A towing a full size pick-up truck couldn't make that turn especially with a fire hydrant located on the driver side of the rear of the site. She should have told us so we could have opted for a back in site for a lesser charge. It was especially irritating since we had to back up at the check in area to get around a tow car with a dead battery. Again, had we been told about the site, we would have disconnected then and there. Other than the site assignment issue, the campground is very nice and we would stay here again if in the area. Sites 66 and 67 should not be charged as a pull through for big rigs. We camped at Autumn Woods RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park, Cedar Lake, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

If coming in from the North on US-41 do not allow your GPS to convince you to turn left on hwy 231 Veterans Memorial Hwy. There are two low clearances marked as 13 foot 6 inches. It is much easier to go a little further south on 41 and turn left on 133rd Ave instead. We used this campground due to its location close to friends we were visiting in the local area. The power and water pressure were good although we had to borrow more water hose from the host in order to reach the shared water access located on every other site. If you want to get in roof mounted dish service, try to get sites 2, 4, 6, 8 or 10. We were in site 29 and there was no way we were going to get the sat dish to come in. We would stay at this campground again if in the area. We camped at Cedar Lake Bible Retreat & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fireside Resort at Kruse Park, Auburn, Indiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stay at this park because of its location near family members in Fort Wayne. We will be definitely be staying here again in the future. There are very limited options for a big rig in this area. The good points are excellent power, good water pressure, and long level pull through sites. It is close to I-69 interstate so there is some traffic noise depending upon wind direction. Roof mounted dishes will have no problem because the sites are open to the sky. Verizon telephone and data reception were both very good. Office manager was pleasant and efficient. We didn't use the campground wi-fi enough to rate it. The campground has had a drainage problem during past visits. They have obviously added some drainage recently, but it is unclear whether that has resolved the problems of wet sites or not. During our stay, there were piles of rock and dirt piled around the campground. Our assumption is that more work is still to be done although we did not see any activity during our 9 day stay. The bathroom showers were also in the process of being modified when we arrived, and we didn't see any progress on that job during our stay either. The pool is closed although the manager indicated they hoped to have it opened by the end of the summer, but it seems unlikely looking at the pool's present condition. The campground stays full or nearly full throughout the year so there is not a lot of motivation to improve the appearance of the campground. However, if I owned the campground, I would be hiring some teenagers with weed trimmers to clean up the severely overgrown sites. There appears to be no pride in ownership beyond the minimal amount of lawn mowing. We camped at Fireside Resort at Kruse Park in a Motorhome.

Carthage Gap RV Park LLC, Coolville, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice campground. I was a little nervous when I saw the entrance between the two lakes but the campground is very nice especially the new section where we stayed. Our pull through site was level, power was great, and we could get our roof mounted satellite dish in. I really like it when a campground owner keeps a place as nicely as this couple does. The pride in ownership really shows. All the hook-ups are clean and graveled without weeds and grass growing up. No worries about having a weed eater cutting up your sewer hose. I uploaded a couple photos showing the front entrance. I would not recommend coming in early in the day when someone else might be leaving with their rig without calling first. This a really nice place and we would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Carthage Gap RV Park LLC in a Motorhome.

Waynesboro North 340 Campground, Waynesboro, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground with a wide variety of sites. Vast majority of sites are too wooded to use a roof mounted satellite dish. Office staff very pleasant and helpful. Our site was level and the power was good. Conveniently located for grocery shopping and touring Shenandoah Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway. We would stay here again if in the area. Verizon cell service and data were in a 4G area. We saw several people using the pool which looked nice but we didn't use it. Our site was long enough to park our motor home, our truck behind the motor home and our Harley trike in front of the motor home. We camped at Waynesboro North 340 Campground in a Motorhome.

Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground, Fancy Gap, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

There are a lot of great things about this campground. It is conveniently located right on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is very clean and well maintained. They have 13 RV sites, several cabins and even some motel rooms with bathrooms. We reserved a week in Site 1 which is listed on their website as a pull-through site. Calling Sites 1 -4 pull throughs is a stretch since they are in one straight line so if anyone is in one of the adjacent sites, then the sites are no longer pull-throughs. Plus Sites 1 and 2 are on one level, then site 3 drops down, then site 4 drops down even further. If a longer trailer or fifth-wheel is trying to park in Site 2 when Site 1 is occupied, their tow vehicle ends up on a severe grassy downslope trying to back their RV into position. I was nervous every day when we returned to the coach to see what might have happened to it while we were gone. On the other hand, the couple who purchased the campground about 8 months ago, are very helpful and working very hard to improve the campground. If we were ever to stay in this campground again, it would be in one of the other sites on the lower level. We camped at Fancy Gap Cabins and Campground in a Motorhome.
