American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night to fill up/dump prior to the Balloon Fiesta. The facilities were very clean and the park was laid out very well. This was a secure facility and only accessible via a keypad. The keypad's location is not very RV friendly. The roads are all paved, hookups were easily accessible, and sites were level. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. We used the swimming pool and hot tub. The swimming pool was nice but the hot tub area needed cleaned and repainted. Overall, a good place to stay and we would stay here again. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.

White Sands Community RV & Manufactured Home Park, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

A manufactured home community with approximately 60 RV sites. Full hook-ups with 20/30/50 amp service. Free wifi with good coverage, nice size swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, playground, two dog runs with grass, laundry on-site, barber shop on-site, and Walmart next door. Roads are asphalt with speed bumps throughout to slow motorists. Sites are flat with large gravel rock with plenty of space to park your tow vehicle. Hookups are easily accessible but I would use a pressure regulator as the water pressure is strong. We would stay here again. We camped at White Sands Community RV & Manufactured Home Park in a Motorhome.

Diamond Campground and RV Park, Woodland Park, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Campground: Lots of Aspen and Evergreen trees throughout the park. The roads are all dirt/gravel and the park managers appeared to keep them in good shape. The roads were of sufficient width for our 40' motorhome. Location: Conveniently located just a mile from Woodland Park's main street (Highway 24). There was access to a bicycle path adjacent to the campground which you could ride into town a short distance. Spaces: They are gravel, somewhat level, and the patio area is all dirt. I would estimate the width of most spaces to be 20'. They did offer a fire ring and picnic table. Utilities: The water, electric, and sewer hookups were conveniently located. Amenities: They had a small playground for children. The bathrooms and laundry area appeared to be clean but we did not use the facilities. We did not see or were offered any other amenities. Customer Service: It was obvious the campground caters to the monthly renters and it showed during check-in. The office lady was not very friendly and was 'matter of fact' about the check in process. We had several packages shipped to us while staying in the campground and we never once received a phone call or notification of having a package in the office. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Garden of the Gods Campground, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

As others have mentioned, sites are not level. We were in site M5 and our front end was 6" low on the front end. 90% of the sites are gravel, roads are paved. They have an antiquated play area for children that is rusted and has metal mesh for the platform. The only place where grass could be found was by the pool. The pet area was all gravel. We used one of the pools and it was heated and nice. They had a recent flash flood (not their fault) so some of the sites were not occupied due to wash outs. Road construction was a PITA and does not look to be moving very fast towards completion. Employees were all nice. We camped at Garden of the Gods Campground in a Motorhome.

Winding River RV Resort, Grand Lake, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived on a Thursday and check-in was prompt and courteous. We were provided a map and activity sheet for the resort. We were directed to site #41, which was large and surrounded by "mountain" shrubbery/trees on two sides of us.

PROS: Roads were easy to navigate (We have a 40' home with a Ram 1500 toad). Site #41 was large and offered two sides of privacy from neighbors. The lot was dirt but level. Electric and water was easily accessible. Lots of activities for couples and families include: horseback riding, ATV tours, animal farm, ice cream social, petting farm, playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, and chuckwagon breakfasts/dinners. Personnel were very courteous and a pleasure to speak with during our stay. Location, location, location. This park sits within one-quarter mile of the entrance to RMNP.

CONS: Electricity voltage. On day one, temps dropped into the low 40's and our surge protector kept tripping for low voltage with our heat pump turned on. We received a quick response from personnel who responded and said they were aware of the problem on that circuit. No remedy was offered and we were told the park was booked for the weekend and no alternative site was available to us. On day three, the temps dropped into the 30's and without a heat pump or other alternative heating source, we called the office again. This time we were offered a different site but since we only had one additional night left, we opted to cut our vacation short and head home, which they refunded one night to us. Overall, we really liked the resort and the amenities. If it wasn't for the electrical issue, we would have given it a 9. We intend to return once the electrical issues are addressed. We camped at Winding River RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Glenwood Canyon Resort, Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: The location is 3 mi from Glenwood Springs and 3 mi from Hanging Lake. Clean campground that sits on the Colorado River, and nice employees. Good power grid. Cons: Price is outrageous for the amenities. This is NOT a resort. Lots are either dirt or gravel. They charge extra for more than two people, also charge extra for pets, and there are no grassy area for pets. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.
