Big Meadow Family Campground, Townsend, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a back in site next to the road. Traffic is present at all hours of the day/night with speed bumps doing little to slow the traffic down. We had to reposition our TT to use the bumper mounted grill. A bit unnerving to have a car pass by you within 4ft while flipping a burger. The sites are slightly elevated but traffic noise is present. The back in sites next to the road are not very long. Our 30ft TT and TV barely fit. Our slideout encroached on the agjacent site, narrow site. Clean area, children's splash pad, playground and dog area. Sunday service provided and a short walk to River Rat tube company. Enjoyable stay, will return and book a pull thru next time. We camped at Big Meadow Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Eat at Burgermaster, a must stop in Townsend! Cades Cove is only 15mins for here. River Rat tubing is a short walk and worth a day. Be careful of exiting the park and not clearing the bridge if you are making a right turn. It looks like that bridge has taken its toll on campers over the years.

Montgomery South RV Park, Hope Hull, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to overnight. Some older long term campers, one with an array of liquor bottles on display outside his abode. Water pressure was a bit high, use your regulator. Was able to contact the staff late in the evening to book a site...huge plus. Staff was helpful and friendly. We didn't hear the traffic from the interstate from our site. We camped at Montgomery South RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort, Orange Beach, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here 3 times since it opened in summer of 2017. Sites are spacious and concrete. Some of the pull thru have a slight drop off that can make unhooking your TT a bit difficult. Staff is friendly and helpful. One comment that I would have is the number of unsupervised children running around the park. We had several unsupervised teens in the pool area one night, causing havoc and placing chairs in the pool. Care must be exercised while driving thru the park as numerous children ride and run thru the park with supervision. I say this as a parent of 4 children, we dont unleash our kids once we pull in and unhook. Overall a pleasant stay. We camped at Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Duvall in the Smokies RV Campground, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 3rd stay with Leon and Alais Duvall since it opened in Oct 2017 and it has become our must stay campground when staying in the Pigeon Forge area. The park continues to add sites. The value is unbelievable, $35 for a river site with bald eagle viewing???!!! The owners are exceptional people, you will not find better people or host. The Duvalls sponsored a BBQ on the Sunday that we were there. Met many of the fellow campers. The food and fellowship were great! The site is grow so there is some construction but do not let that deter you from staying at the best RV park in the Smokies. Pool and other amenities are in the future. Access is now controlled by gates with code access. Leon and Alais met us at dusk, in the pouring rain, to help us get our camper back into the site. They even stayed with us while we hooked up to the site. They didn't have to but that's the kind of special people they are...you can't beat them. We have already booked our fall trip. As one other reviewer said, always one (negative reviewer). We camped at Duvall in the Smokies RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Site #3: asphalt, level, on the river, excellent view of bald eagles. Adjacent to laundry room. Close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Dollywood. Walgreens and convenience store with 200yds of campground. Road noise can be an issue if your a light sleeper, if so recommend (newer) sites in the interior of the park. If you stay, prepare to keep coming back...

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Our second stay at the park. Several campers were racing at the nearby dragstrip (yes you can hear the track). One camper was tuning is motorcycle for several hours on Saturday. Sites are gravel and close together. All are pull thru with limited length. Park appears to have long term residences in it. Some of the interior park roads were semi washed out. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Travel Trailer.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Our gravel site was just long enough for our TT and TV (with it parked at an angle) and fairly level. Sites are fairly closely spaced together. There was a tree on the right side of the site which required us to position the TT forward in the site, for the awing to clear the tree. ATT was about 3 bars. Nice playground for the kids and a dog park. Close proximity to I75. 10-15 mins from downtown Chattanooga. Clean restrooms. NOTE: Brainerd Motorsports Park is approx. .9 miles from this park. We heard drag racing from check-in on Saturday until at least 10pm that night. Something to consider if you need to turn in early. I like drag racing just not when trying to sleep. We would otherwise recommend this park but would not come back unless there is no activity at the dragstrip. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Travel Trailer.

Duvall in the Smokies RV Campground, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

A wonderful stay! You will not find better people than the owners. The campground reflects their passion for the Smokies and their attention to detail. I cannot stress how exceptional the owners are in their commitment to customer satisfaction. The campground is open with some construction left to complete the General Store, laundry room and office. A laundry (with new appliances) facility is available. Very family and pet friendly. Children's train rides and a sandbox. Goodies bags for the kids. Only about 10-15 min drive to Dollywood/Pigeon Forge, but you are able to avoid the heavy Parkway traffic. Veteran's Boulevard is approx. 1 mile from campground. Plenty of restaurants within 1-1.5 miles of campground. Walgreens is across the street from the campground and Weigel's convenience store (diesel) is at the entrance of the campground. Firewood, charcoal and LP exchange on-site. Site sizes are generous with back in and pull thru sites available. AT&T service was around 2-3 bars. Cable and Wifi (hotspots available) are still in process of being installed, no worries enjoy Bald Eagles patrolling the river next to your campsite, fishing, kayaking or the wonderful sunsets. We will definitely be returning! We camped at Duvall in the Smokies RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA, Trenton, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Staff was very friendly and able to accommodate all of our requests. Site #12 was tight with several trees on both sides of the gravel site. Our we navigated around the tress our slideout was 6-8" from touching the tree that was next to the power pedestal. Limited basic cable, AT&T signal was good, we streamed Netflix and several football games in SD. Very friendly and helpful campers around us. Pool and jumping pad were still open. K9 park and small store on site as well as laundry. Bring plenty of leveling blocks because most site will require the use of them. We had to use 4wd to pull over concrete section of roadway leading to the exit. Train can be loud at night. We would stay here again. We camped at Lookout Mountain / Chattanooga West KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The I59/I24 interchange is a mess, often with traffic stopped for miles going into Chattanooga, look for an alternate route into Chattanooga and enjoy the scenery. Trenton is a short drive for fuel and groceries.

Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort, Orange Beach, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $64.00
Overall Rating:

Second stay in 6 weeks this summer. Needless to say we really enjoy this park. The sites are concrete with plenty of space. Our first stay we were on a pull-thru which was a level on the center section and slightly inclined on the ends. This caused a bit of an issue during unhitching of the trailer. The second visit during labor day weekend was in a back in site. The site was level with plenty of space. The power pedestals were lighted and lockable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facilities were very clean (park is about 1 year old). Pool, laundry, hot tub, LP station, RV accessory store and pond are on site. Very quiet (NICE). picnic tables at all sites but no fire rings. Close proximity to The Wharf. When staying in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach we will definitely look here first. NOTE: Summer rates do not include electric. We camped at Pandion Ridge Luxury RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
