Circus Circus RV Park (formerly Las Vegas / Circus Circus KOA), Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Park is virtually just a parking lot with hook ups. The two best spots are 10 and 52 as they have the only grass. Hook ups worked fine. On a positive note, there is a pool exclusively for park goers so it was clean and not crowded like every other Las Vegas pool around. One complaint would be the layout of the spaces. RV's park alternating so the hook up area is utilized by two campers and therefor you share your awning area with the adjoining camper. Overall I think if we can find a hotel that accepts pets and can find a place to park the trailer we would get a hotel next time. We negotiated a 41' fifth wheel through Vegas traffic! Be sure and come in on Sammy Davis JR and be aware you can only enter from Sahara west and cannot cross the median. Laundry was out of service but helpful staff sent us to a local laundromat. We camped at Circus Circus RV Park (formerly Las Vegas / Circus Circus KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Route 66 RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We only stayed for an overnight on our way through but spaces were large and level and spacious between neighbors. Very clean well put together park. Would have liked more trees but you are in NM! We did not have to disconnect and were still able to level the trailer fine. Easy to navigate, well marked spaces and a nice dog relief area. Office is open 24/7 which is a rarity. Free shuttle to the casino which is walking distance but for us it was pouring rain when we got there so the ride was nice. Picked you up right at your site. They have a pool, spa and restrooms/showers but we did not use them. Be sure and use your water regulator, water pressure is through the roof. We camped at Route 66 RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA, Sallisaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Pool was nice and clean. Spaces were level and shaded with fire pits and picnic tables. Nice dog run. Had a lot of overnight stop overs due to its location and minimal full timers. If you are so inclined to stay more than one day it has kayaks, a catch and release pond, tether ball and an over all very nice atmosphere. A few had beautiful wooden decks at the site. If I had only one complaint was they decided to mow after folks had already set up instead of in the morning when the park was virtually empty. It was very dusty! We camped at Sallisaw / Fort Smith West KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful well kept park with large level spaces. We didn't need any blocks to level the wheels. The hill to the mountain view spots is very steep but easily negotiated by large rigs. They will escort you to your space. Bath rooms and laundry are spotless. Very secure, every one gets their own gate combo. Pet friendly. Our space had two sewer dumps, a huge grassy area in front and lots of room for our tow vehicle. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rose Creek Campground & Cabins, Franklin, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very well kept park in the woods. We had a large level spot. Phone and wifi were pretty much non existent but you are in the mountains so prepare before you get there. T-mobile seemed to work better than Verizon. Pool was nice and clean and they were very accommodating with our visitors. Roads to the park are narrow but we negotiated fine in a 41 ft fifth wheel. Plenty of room for our tow vehicle and our guests van at our site. There is no laundry facility even though it says there is. We camped at Rose Creek Campground & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Definitely head out to Dry Falls and stop along the way at a few of the swimming holes, rent tubes and float down the river from the fruit and vegetable stand just a few miles away and walk down to the Rose Creek mine and do a little mining. (You can actually see it from the pool)

Nice level pull through gravel spaces. We didn't need to disconnnect to get level which was great for an early departure. Ample room between spaces and all grass. Small fire pit and very nice pet area. We camped at Nashville East / Lebanon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Hot Springs National Park KOA, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful woodsy facility. Spaces were a little close. Our fire ring would have been under our neighbors slide. They escorted you to your site and were happy to get fire wood for you. Roads were tight but we managed it in a 41 ft fifth wheel. We camped at Hot Springs National Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very well laid out facility. Spaces were easy to navigate and beautiful level concrete pads. Pool and spas were clean and grounds were well maintained. Only thing I could knock them on was maybe a few more trees. Front staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed for two nights in a 41 ft fifth wheel. We did need to disconnect and park behind the rv to be completely on the concrete pad. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Black Bart's RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Had a lot of full time residents but always quiet with no issues. Spaces were a little unlevel but just needed to lower the front way down and you had to disconnect your tow vehicle. Front staff was very friendly. Ate at the restaurant on site, food was good and servers were excellent. Felt it was a little pricy though. We stayed two nights in a 41 ft fifth wheel. This is not a resort but a decent place to stay on your way through. We camped at Black Bart's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
