J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Check in was quick and easy and on paper receipts! Nice wide road right to our level pull thru spot. Pretty quiet even though we were right off the main highway. The Park was packed both nights we were there. The pooches loved the grassy little dog park back in the corner of the park. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Motorhome.

Sundance RV Park, Cortez, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean park with pull thrus and back ins. Check in was quick and easy. Pulled into a our mostly level site. We had a grassy area for the pooches. They do have a dog walk area but it is not fenced. They have a central restroom and laundry area. Most sites are not satellite friendly due to the trees. We did pull all the way up to the very front of the site and was able to pick up satellite. But, it made us very far away from the water and sewer hookups. You can walk to grocery shopping and restaurants. Close to Mesa Verde National Park. We camped at Sundance RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Stop by Pippo's Cafe downtown. Really good food at a great price! Mesa Verde is definitely worth the time. We took the ranger lead tour right down into the Indian ruins and we couldn't be happier. Saturday's in the summer are great as they have a nice farmer's market. We also went to Tequila's Mexican restaurant which was excellent.

Wolf Creek Run Class A Motorcoach Resort, Pagosa Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $75.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 5 nights. Our site was a pull in right off the highway overlooking the San Juan River and picturesque view of the valley. The grass around the site was very nice for the dogs. It had plenty of room for our rig and tow car parked next to the rig. We enjoyed the gazebo with table and chairs for relaxing. However, the road noise was loud enough that it was tough to hear our outside stereo. Highway 160 is a main throughfare for all traffic in and out of Pagosa Springs. With trucks slowing down using their jake brakes all hours of the night in one direction and others accelerating out of town up to highway speeds in the other direction, it was somewhat difficult to sleep. As for the campground itself, the fountain in the lower section had seating to just relax and enjoy. The dog area was fenced. It is a beautiful and well maintained campground but the close proximity of the highway did affect our stay. We did enjoy the shops and restaurants in Downtown Pagosa Springs. We camped at Wolf Creek Run Class A Motorcoach Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Good breakfast at the Junction Restaurant and gift shop. Walk the downtown shops and stop in at Goodman's Dept store that's been there for over 100 years! Rose's Cafe for breakfast. Walmart is about 6 miles from the campground. Try the Choke Cherry Tree for homemade caramels, chocolates, vinaigrette's and sauces. Use the coupon in the visitors guide! During the summer, they have a fabulous Farmer's Market near the Junction Restaurant.

Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA, Pueblo, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 nights. Check in here was quick and easy. Had an escort to our site which is very helpful. The owner knew exactly which sites are good for satellite and this one was perfect! Site was extra long. Roads were wide enough for big rigs. Sites have plenty of grass for the pooches. They have mini golf, pool and small spa (adults only), big playground and huge clubhouse in the back of the campground. Pretty quiet even though you are near the freeway. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA in a Motorhome.

Cheyenne KOA, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $118.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 5 nights during Frontier Days. Check in was a breeze. The owners are very friendly and the little store was packed with all sorts of "American Made" items. We pulled right into our site and didn't have to unhook. Our spot was a bit narrow due to tree limbs compared to other KOA's. The K9 Kamp was great for the pooches. Plenty of grass for walking them. Great DISH satellite and Verizon services. They have a mini golf and a little koi pond. Little bit of highway and train noise as the campground is near both. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Cheyenne KOA in a Motorhome.

River's Edge RV & Cabins Resort, Evansville, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here a couple of nights on our way to Cheyenne. We had a level pull thru site in the middle of the park. Nice wide site. Office gal was very helpful for things to do around Casper. Very relaxing area down by the river to sit. Make sure you have mosquito repellent on!! The only real grass is near the river for walking the pooches. Small artificial turf with picnic table at each site. The wire company nearby is quite noisy even throughout the night. We may stay here again if we are in the area. We camped at River's Edge RV & Cabins Resort in a Motorhome.

Hardin KOA, Hardin, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Pulled in and saw the "For Sale sign by owner" in the window. We made this reservation in January as part of a big trip for just one night. I informed her that we didn't want to unhook the tow car and just wanted a pull thru large enough for our 44 foot big rig and car and access to satellite. She assured me that we would fit and not have to unhook. Got to to our site and saw that we needed to make a 90 degree turn into it from a narrow road. No way it was happening without unhooking the car. We tried to change sites but was told the much smaller rig that checked in after us was given the straight pull through. So, we had to unhook, still make the 90 degree turn, avoid the trees and then find out upon leveling, that both driver side dual axels were over 6 inches off the ground. To top it off, we also did not have satellite coverage. Upon leaving the next morning, we had to back and maneuver another 90 degree turn while also holding back tree limbs with a broom in order to not scratch the whole passenger side of our coach. After successfully maneuvering out of our "pull through" site, we had to coordinate with another rig so we could hook up the car as we were now blocking the narrow lane to the exit. The owner was very apologetic. He did offer us a full refund which was awesome but we declined and paid half of the site rate. It is unfortunate that his staff doesn't know the site dimensions of their campground. We would not stay here again. We camped at Hardin KOA in a Motorhome.

Great Falls KOA, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in and was rushed to our spot as they wanted us out of the driveway ASAP. Nice long site and pretty level. Very narrow as we had to walk in the weeds to get around our slides. We didn't have to unhook as it was just for an overnight. The area around the site was all full of weeds and stickers. Tough on our dogs. Compared to other KOA's, this one was very expensive for what you get. The trash was overflowing. We will not stay here again. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $79.00
Overall Rating:

We decided on this park as it's only a short drive to the West Glacier National Park entrance. When we drove up to the entrance, we were very impressed with the appearance. Check in was a bit busy as this is a big park. We were escorted to our site. Nice large end site. They even had benches to sit on while enjoying the fire ring. There is a lot of grassy area and also a pooch play area. Nice restaurant on site that serves breakfast and dinner, two pools, well stocked store and even an ice cream shop. We will be back and stay longer next time!! We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Fairmont RV Park, Anaconda, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in late in the afternoon and, after pulling into our site, realized that our coolant had all leaked out of our Big Rig. We went to the office and they were extremely helpful trying to help us locate a big rig mechanic and tow company. We stayed the weekend and the owner and his whole family were extremely gracious and kind. Our site had a great view of the valley. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Motorhome.

Snake River RV Park & Campground, Idaho Falls, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

We tried to check in an hour early and they told us to wait at Walmart. We stayed here for 4 nights which included the July 4th celebration. Check in took some time as our original site was not satellite friendly. We were able to get a different site that was level and easy to pull into. The staff were busy moving sprinklers around to keep the grass green. We had to pay $4.00 per stay per dog! The dog run was full of weeds and dirt. We thought that was excessive. We really enjoyed the outstanding July 4th fireworks! We camped at Snake River RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 7 days to enjoy the Capitol Reef National Park area. Check in was quick and efficient. We backed into our level spot with ease. The owners were so helpful with anything we needed. We enjoyed the dog run area. The RV park has a farm off to one side with cattle and a very friendly horse named "Leroy" who loves to be fed carrots! The WiFi at our site was very good. This whole area is not very Verizon cell phone friendly. Our site was all shaded in the afternoon. We camped at Wonderland RV Park in a Motorhome.

Capitol Reef National Park is only 11 miles from the park. Drive the scenic loop and, if you can only do one hike, hike the Hickman Bridge trail. There is a County Visitor Center within walking distance/across the street from the RV park. The smoked trout salad at Capitol Reef Inn and Restaurant was delicious! We also ate at La Cueva Mexican restaurant which had really good food as well.

Check in was simple and quick. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pulled into our spot but realized that the hook ups are towards the front half of the site. The sewer hookup was was above ground and they just happened to have pavers laying around so we stacked them up to assist the sewer line. We really liked that in the middle of the desert, they have grass at our site! The view was amazing of Monument Valley. We camped at Monument Valley KOA in a Motorhome.
