Close to Hendersonville and very convenient to Brevard and Asheville. Spent 2 days at Biltmore Estate and took about 30 minutes to get there. Went 2 different routes and time was about the same.

Sonoma County Fair Grounds, Santa Rosa, California

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

FEMA trailers are now gone. Nice level spots. Very dusty with no grass anywhere. There are some trees which makes it great when the sun is beating down. Was never given the wifi password so don't know how that works. Didn't check out the bath house either. Just used it for a base to see wine country. Thought it odd also that the first night was Passport America ($20) but they wouldn't let me use Good Sams on the second night ($40). Security at night is awesome! They are serious about keeping you safe. We camped at Sonoma County Fair Grounds in a Motorhome.

Nice park! Very clean and well maintained. Turn right beside KFC and go through the large parking lot and the fairground is beyond that with a fence separating it from the parking lot. Camp Hosts right there as you go through the gate. We camped at Redwood Empire Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Osprey Point RV Resort, Lakeside, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park right on the lake. Older section with permanent tenants but newer area right by the lake for ones staying shorter periods of time. Bathrooms were very large and clean. Coffee shop had many choices and the pub bar was very busy. The laundromat had plenty of washers ($2) and dryers (.25 for 6 minutes). Nice place to stay! We camped at Osprey Point RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Big Spruce RV Park, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

All the reviews mention a staff member who runs the park and what a hard worker and nice guy he is. Well, everyone is absolutely telling the truth! He is so helpful and nothing is a problem to him He is always available and willing to help. The RV camp is pretty basic but we just wanted a base to work from. We have had a wonderful time and a lot of that is from the ideas the staff member gave us. Great cable TV here also. A staff member even came in and helped us hook it up. Didn't use the showers or bathrooms. We camped at Big Spruce RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Tillamook Cheese has a wonderful tour. The next day we went to Astoria and toured the Flavel mansion in Astoria. Well worth the time and very inexpensive. We then went up to the Astoria Column which was about a mile from the mansion and the view was AMAZING ($5 parking). Then to Cannon Beach to see Haystack rock which words can't describe. Then we got back to the camp. A staff member told us to turn right out of the camp, go about 4 miles to Oceanside Beach and WOW!

Watchman Campground (NPS Campground), Zion National Park, Utah

Overall Rating:

Beautiful park. Nice sites with lots of shade trees. So convenient to be right there and go and come as you please without having to fight traffic getting into the park. You can walk over the pedestrian bridge into Springdale and shop or eat right there. There is a water spigot right outside the bathrooms where you can get fresh water. We camped at Watchman Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Kaibab Paiute Band Tribal Campground, Kaibab, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

First class!! This park is spotless with large pull thru sites. Great utilities and the best wireless we have had lately. The workers and camp hosts are great. The RV park is on the Kaibub Paiute reservation. The views are stunning and you can see the Pipe Spring National Monument from the campground. We had never heard of this Monument before but it was so interesting and the tour is only 30 minutes long with lots of good information. The RV park is so immaculate. The main building, where they take reservations, is very large. It has a kitchen they will let you use if needed and at the back of the building is a huge covered pavilion with picnic tables and two propane fire pits you can use. This building is where the bathrooms, shower and laundry room are located. They also have a DVD lending library and board games to borrow. You have a code that gets you into the back door to use these facilities. The 4 private showers are like home showers. The laundry room is great. 4 washers @ $1.75 a load and 4 dryers @ $1.75 a load with a large folding table. Again, so clean. Each tent in the tent area is separated from the next one by enough space to park a car. They have railroad tires surrounding the area where you actually put your tent with a picnic table in it and also a fire pit. There is a dog park area with real grass! There is no cell signal here. We didn't miss it since we emailed our kids and told them to do the same to us if they needed us. The restaurant about 1/4 mile away is fantastic and so reasonable. We camped at Kaibab Paiute Band Tribal Campground in a Motorhome.

Bonita Lakes RV Park , Meridian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely spotless bathrooms. The showers have full lockable doors, they are very big and have plenty of places to hang or lay your articles. The check-in was very quick and the lady was so nice! The sites have concrete pads and most have lighted power pedestals. Very nice campground. We will stop again if traveling this way. We camped at Bonita Lakes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Owners and staff are so nice and helpful! The park is beautiful with rolling hills and great roads. They are going to open up another camping section in the near future and also have a separate section for those who come to the area to work. You are so close to Mayberry. Tips for other Campers:

This land originally belonged to Chang and Eng Bunker, the original Siamese Twins who were conjoined at the liver. One of the houses they lived in is still in the park. The twins married sisters and between them they had 21 children - ten by Chang and 11 by Eng. Each wife wanted her own house so they would move weekly from one house to the other.

We tried to use the map given us at the visitors center to see the sights, but to us it was VERY hard to follow. Main Street is one way so we kept looking and looping trying to find places. Have to go to Floyd's Barber Shop!! The owner couldn't be nicer and takes everyone's picture when they go in. His Dad cut Andy's hair when Andy lived there and his son continues to operate the shop. So nice! He also has cool Tee Shirts for $10!

River Trail Crossing, Butler, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Such a nice campground!! The owner couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. The owner wants you to enjoy your stay and does whatever he can to make it possible. Great lending library of books and DVD and lots of information about things to do locally. Large creek runs alongside the camp and there is also a well used biking trail on the other side. Several permanent campers here but plenty of space for overnighters. Lots of shade if you want it or you can camp right on the creek. Those by the creek only have water and electric. We chose a site closer to the office to make sure we had a good WiFi signal and it has been the best we have had in the last two weeks. Don't know about further into the park. We camped at River Trail Crossing in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Very close to Mansfield, Oh. About 20 minutes. Lots of shopping and good eating. The "Reformatory", which is the magnificent building built in the 1890's and was used to shoot the Shawshank Redemption movie is open for touring from 11-4 during the week. Not sure about weekend hours, didn't really look at those. Fascinating and well worth the time. Reasonably priced and some people we spoke with go back again and again because it is so interesting.

Lake Aire RV Park & Campground, Hollywood, South Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This was an amazingly clean, well kept, friendly park. I would have given it a 10 out of 10 if the internet had been better. Was pretty good the first couple of days we were there, but as more people came and the weekend approached it became impossible to get on. With nearly every person having a phone, iPad or computer this is understandable but frustrating. Can't say enough about how well kept and immaculate the park is. Corn hole play area, horse shoe area, huge pavilion available and beautiful separate tent area. Staff were all so nice. We did not have reservations so no sewer on site was available. Great dump area and easy to get to. Excellent park!!! We camped at Lake Aire RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
