Florida Caverns State Park, Marianna, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorites parks although the sites are dirt and not gravel like advertised. This park offers lots of hiking trails along with equestrian trails and camping. We did not visit the caverns on this trip as we have done so in the past. I would highly recommend seeing the caves if you have not. The park was quite full when we made our reservation 2 weeks out. The sites are spacious and clean. The best news...they have sewer hookups! We will be back. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Miller's Ferry Campground COE, Camden, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

Loved this park. We stayed in site 34 on the water and camped there for two days. This site is not one of the more popular locations as it is in full sun and overlooks the bridge. However, it was quite roomy and spacious and private enough for us. The campsite offered a picnic table and a metal lantern stand with an all purpose table attached. The best sites are in the teens on the other side of the campground. The campground hosts were very friendly and helpful...we had an issue with fire ants and they came to our rescue! This is a great fishing spot from the looks of all the boats/trailers that accompanied the campers. This site was plenty long and level...we would stay here again. We camped at Miller's Ferry Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Although we did not go due to rainy weather and lack of a car, we understand that there is a marina accessible by foot (approx 3 miles) that serves a mean hamburger!

Lake Claiborne State Park, Homer, Louisiana

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a picturesque park with long camping sites, some on the water, others not. The water level was down when we stayed there as the reservoir had been drained to allow residents around the lake to repair their bulkheads. There are two loops which we walked and both are equally adequate. We did not have prior reservations and asked for a pull through site. We were assigned site 6 which is a shared site, fortunately, we did not have to share it with anyone. We also understand that LA State Parks do not offer discounts so that is reason for the $40 nightly camping fee. We would stay here again as the park is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. We camped at Lake Claiborne State Park in a Motorhome.

Green Caye RV Park, Dickinson, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in Green Caye for one night while passing through town. We found this park clean with friendly people, especially the staff in the office. The sites have concrete and are close together however this was again just an overnight stay and not a camping experience. There is some construction going on directly in front of the campsites so it was a bit noisey during the day. Overall, this was a perfect place for us to stop. We camped at Green Caye RV Park in a Motorhome.
