KBR Campground, Nakusp, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

New owners since last year have been working hard to bring this little park up to its full potential. The owner is very friendly and is enthusiastic about improvements made & for those planned. He was very happy to advise we were the first to enjoy the good municipal water the property was hooked up to the previous day. Great wifi. Level sites, both wooded & open. We'd definitely stay here again & highly recommend it. Note: If you have a vehicle or towdie, it would be ideal to stay here & enjoy the full service hook-ups & just drive up to the Hot Springs for a soak. At the bottom of the road up to Nakusp Hot Springs. We camped at KBR Campground in a Motorhome.

Nakusp Hot Springs Campground, Nakusp, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: - Beautiful, natural forest setting. Beautiful hot springs. Clean, but be prepared for muddy patches in sites if it has rained. Lots of marked walking/hiking trails. Very quiet, except for nice rushing river below. Dark Cons: Electrical hook-up only, although 30 amp. No sewer hook-up, no dump, have to go to Nakusp on the way out. No water hook-up, but convenient taps to fill up your tank with good, clean, drinkable water on the way into site. Poor signage to check-in. Most every visitor circles around a bit before spotting the Office. No wifi. We camped at Nakusp Hot Springs Campground in a Motorhome.

Mirror Lake Campground, Kaslo, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

113 sites, Apr 15-Oct 15. All ages. Tents sites: 113, heater not allowed, 38 pull thrus, electric. 55 elec-water hookups, 15 amp, tables, grill, water, toilets, showers, dump, laundry, firewood, pet friendly, playground, lake beach for swimming Pros: Friendly, accommodating check-in. Only 15 minutes from Ainsworth Hot Springs. Lovely treed grounds, level sites, quiet, dark, nice swimming beach. Cons: Unfortunate "water boiling advisory" when we were there. Only 15 amp service, so had to be careful not to use more than one appliance at a time. No sewer hook-up, dump on the way out. Wifi only next to the office, none at site. OK for a overnighter. Looks like would be great for families in the summer. Nearest RV park to Ainsworth Hot Springs. We camped at Mirror Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: - Friendly, accommodating Check-in - Beautiful, wooded, natural grounds - Lovely sandy beach on the river (5 min, steep walk) - Very quiet - Totally silent & dark at night for sleeping (we like that) - Only a couple minutes off the highway - Wifi strong, but slow & drops frequently Cons: - Can't think of anything as was a perfect one-night layover on the way to our destination. We camped at Cascade Cove Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

NK'MIP RV Park, Osoyoos, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: - Beautifully situated on Osoyoos Lake - Lots of beach access - Big mature trees for shade - Clean - Friendly staff Cons: - Poorly managed - Reservation and Check-in process is awkward - Wifi strong, but drops often - Bird cannons firing intermittently during grape season Note: We arrived in the beginning of September without a reservation, and the park was very full. There was a long line-up at the Check-in desk with only one person until another person arrived about 15 minutes later. She was very nice & seemed to struggle with finding us adjacent spots for us & our friends, but did find a couple spots. The clue was when she said, "If you don't like them, just come back & I'll find you something else." When we arrived at the sites, both spots were nice but soaked with sprinklers that appeared to have been running a long time. The ground was too mushy to walk in. So back we went. OK....on to another 2 sites. Came back, & one was occupied. Back again......"oh, they must be in the wrong spot. They've been there for 3 days." The girl gave me two different sites....we went there & they were being drowned with sprinklers. Too exasperated to continue, we returned to the original spots that had dried a bit because we had moved the sprinkler away ourselves at the beginning of the ordeal. Then it was a struggle to fit into the site due to the rising slope at the back. The hook-ups are a few feet up the slope. A lady camped across from the sites said she had watched 3 rigs previously approach the site & leave. I told the desk to tell someone to turn off the damn sprinklers & they called maintenance. There apparently is a big lack of communication. I mean, why spoil the only sites you have left by watering sand......no grass there, just dark sand. The whole experience was a giant spoiler, so we'll never return. We camped at NK'MIP RV Park in a Motorhome.

Harrison Country Club , Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: - Lovely, friendly and accommodating owners - Very clean - Well maintained - Quiet - Short walk to everything Harrison Hot Springs has to offer (a wonderful plus) - Excellent wifi Cons: - Sites are very close together - Not many short-term sites available for travellers. Note: Majority of Sites are set up as nice vacation "cottages" with decks & little gardens, so when we were there in September most all RVs were unoccupied, and it was very quiet. We imagine in the Summer there would be plenty of activity. We stayed in our 30' motor home in early September & would definitely stay again. We camped at Harrison Country Club in a Motorhome.
