Bare bones camping lot. Looked like several people were staying for awhile. Connected to several parks. Could hear dogs barking in the nearby animal shelter. We camped at Coleman RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Candy Cane RV Park & Campground, Steelville, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Easy to find campground. Roads are a little rough to navigate with larger rigs. Our site was long enough for our 21' rig but not our truck. Owners were preparing to decorate for Christmas and many sites had large characters in the middle of the site. Some sites are grass, some are gravel. All roads and sites could use more gravel and some leveling. We camped at Candy Cane RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Owners were attentive and helpful. Everything worked at the site, however the water is not drinkable and we had to purchase ionized water in the laundry building. We camped at Ox Bow Estates RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Deerfield Beach Campground, Deerfield, Kansas

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

No frills camping "field" in the middle of farmland. All utilities worked fine. Site was fairly level. Water was clear and odorless. Good place to set down for a few days at a cheap price. Looks like several people live here in older trailers. Park needs a little TLC, dog waste pick up and a laundry. But we felt safe & owner was nice & friendly. Honor box to pay. We camped at Deerfield Beach Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Water & dump station closed for the year. No water to be found anywhere. Only 4-5 others camping. Lake was scenic, but not a good value for a one night stay over. $15 out of state for electric site plus $8 per night permit. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Tent Trailer.

Walnut Woods State Park, West Des Moines, Iowa

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

‚ÄčOur site was very difficult to back into. Not enough room for our 21' travel trailer & tow vehicle. We had to park our truck in the grass. Electric only. Rate was $11 All facilities were closed for the season, but there was a porta-potty. No water to be found anywhere. Lots of room to walk a dog. While the website showed many sites available, there were reserved tags on all but 3. Decent stop for 1 night. We camped at Walnut Woods State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rivers Edge Campground, Birchwood, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

There are 20 Long grassy, level sites with electric & water, fire ring & picnic table. I would suggest bringing an extra electric cord and hose to reach the pedestal that is shared between 4 sites. Lots of shade trees. There are 46 seasonal sites with full hook ups & metered electric. Campground is well maintained with sand volleyball court, playground, slack rope park. Laundry, restrooms & showers were all immaculate. Pet friendly with lots of room to walk your dogs. Firewood and some concessions available. Nice clean river for wading, kayaking and tubing at the edge of campground. Great place - I will be back. We camped at Rivers Edge Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sycamore RV Resort, Sycamore, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Disappointed to find out that there is a $2 charge for each visitor. While I can understand this policy during peak camping when the park is full, it seemed unreasonable in off season. Sites are quite small - barely enough room for your tow vehicle. I would hesitate to use the fire ring with so little space! All hookups worked fine. Lots of room to walk a dog. We camped at Sycamore RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Unfortunately the water was not working during our stay. Not sure if this was due to the weather or the construction in the park. Facilities were good, camp hosts were helpful. It was quite cold and lots of mud, but ok for an overnighter. We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Grizzly's RV Park, Blytheville, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good place to stop for overnight. No frills but basics worked. Roads and sites could use some gravel and leveling: but the price is right. Pick a site and put your money in the locked box by the office. We stayed for 6 nights trying to wait out the snow & cold up north. Grizzly was a nice guy: keeping an eye on things during our stay. We camped at Grizzly's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Victory RV Park and Campground, Paducah, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is safe, clean and well maintained. Management is friendly and helpful. Level, roomy sites with full hook ups. Easy on & off highway. It had rained for days before and during our stay, so dog park was not accessible, but ample room to walk a dog. I would recommend this RV Park. We camped at Victory RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pirates Cove Resort, Hardin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The office was down the road from the actual campgrounds. The campgrounds are in 3 different areas. We stayed in C which was quite wet from the recent rain. Looks like gravel was recently laid down but not graded. Sites were not at all level. the Lake/creek was not accessible in this area, but we saw lots of waterfowl. Management was very nice.
