Chief White Crane State Park, Yankton, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Popular and very well maintained state park and multiple campgrounds. Electric only and back-in sites. Water to fill tanks is handy and available at multiple locations. Park and campgrounds are on the river side of the dam that creates Lewis & Clark Rec. Area. Only stayed one night but drove in to see Yankton and around the area. All services are very handy. We camped at Chief White Crane State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lewis & Clark State Park, Onawa, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Very attractive park next to lake. Nice L & C display of replica full-size keelboat. New visitor center (closed when we were there-4:00 or 4:30 PM closing time). Campground was nice and flat with sites right up to lake. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Lewis & Clark State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cedar Pass Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Badlands National Park, South Dakota

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

As others note the parking spots are really just "pull-overs", but the location which allows great views of the badlands is the reason you're there. When we visited, the areas around and all the sidewalks leading to the bathrooms were under construction-and it looked like it might be going for a while. The camp sites are so close to the road that we actually had the ranger knock on our door one night and ask us to pull our stairs in!? Luckily our slide was not street side. The construction crew working on the restrooms had parked their equipment blocking one side of the water and dump station. That kind of slowed down the process of arrival to fill with water and the leaving process to dump. So basically park was awesome, great trails, wildlife and extraordinary views but camping there was a chore. We camped at Cedar Pass Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

Weston Bend State Park, Weston, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park campground. No water or sewer (potable water and dump station available at entrance), but did have electric 50/30/20 hookups. Nice views of river and nice hikes. Park is located in nice river hills area. Nice restaurants and brewery in nearby Weston, MO. Some sites appeared less than level. 50 amp sites were in a separate section. Helpful camp host. We camped at Weston Bend State Park in a Travel Trailer.
