Anderson / Muncie KOA, Anderson, Indiana

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely KOA with lots of green grassy (freshly mowed) areas; looks like a park with adult trees and planted gardens of flowers and shrubs. The sites all have a fire ring and picnic table and some even have lovely patios. Definitely one of the prettiest KOA's we've ever camped at. Staff is very friendly at check-in and as well in showing you to your site. Very quiet park away from hustle and bustle of the city. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Anderson / Muncie KOA in a Motorhome.

Whispering Hills RV Park, Georgetown, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The park is on a hillside but the site we had was level. When full the interior roadways can become quite congested with folks parked along the road in front of or behind their sites. The roads were extremely dusty and even after a bit of rain they dried quickly and became dusty. Most sites had a small patch of grass, the sites near the lake enjoyed larger grassy areas. The nicer, premium sites were set down and away from the mass roadways so would be preferable but they are reserved quickly. As well, the back in sites along the lake were nicer although many of them would not be able to handle a larger rig. On multiple occasions sites on either side of ours were vacant and folks would rudely drive through them stirring up dust. It is a known courtesy among most RV'ers that one just doesn't do that...and in most campgrounds it is a stated rule. The staff was extremely understanding about this and made every attempt to block these vacant sites which was much appreciated. The wifi worked very well and we had great cell service. We camped at Whispering Hills RV Park in a Motorhome.

Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Clean, well planted park with trees, flowers blooming, and grass around each site. Far enough away from the interstate that no traffic noise. There is a train nearby but it was infrequent and didn't keep us up. The front office will assist if you find yourself without anything to do. The park is nicely laid out so easy to navigate even for a longer rig. Super convenient to Mammoth Caves. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Definitely visit the corvette museum in nearby Bowling Green - and this RV park is very convenient to the Mammoth Caves. Great little (and very busy) Mexican restaurant (El Mazatlan) in the town of Cave City.

Nashville North KOA, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

It was raining most of the time we were there and this is no fault of the RV park, but it made for messy areas around the site. They did have grass around each site which helped. We were backed up to the creek, lots of trees between us and the freeway, but we did have some noise but our rig is pretty sound tight so didn't keep us awake. There is limited space on entry into the park so if lots of folks are checking in it can be a bit of a circus. We like that it was away from the downtown area of Nashville so much easier to navigate around. We camped at Nashville North KOA in a Motorhome.

Spring Lake RV Resort, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This park was one of my favorites on this trip. We've made 3 trips around the U.S. and have seen many different kinds of parks and this one is going in my book of favs! When we arrived the young owner was out mowing taking advantage of the sunny day - we've had lots of rain this trip! Anyway, he had us wait so he could mow our site which was very thoughtful of him. They had fresh wood for every new camper in each site's fire pit which is a nice welcome gift. The campground is laid out in a park-like setting with a huge pond/lake and fountain in the middle. Our site backed up to the pond so we had a lovely frog chorus in the evenings. There were two families of ducklings that made for watching enjoyment. Almost every site had outdoor patio type furniture including a couples swing. The laundry room, although only 3 washers and dryers, was exceptionally clean, newer equipment, and reasonably priced. Town of Crossville is close by. While we were there they were doing major construction on the highway spur going out to the campground so it was difficult to see their signage and at times difficult to access their road, but they were working pretty hard on it so should be finished before summertime. As mentioned earlier, the folks running this place were very friendly and ready to assist in a gracious manner. Great Southern hospitality! We camped at Spring Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort), Townsend, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful spot right along Little River and very near the entrance to Cade's Cove, Smokey Mountains. They had probably the cleanest and fanciest restrooms I've ever seen at an RV park. They had fresh rolled up cotton hand towels by the sink for park guests. Very clean and nicely decorated. The park itself was very kept up; lots of trees but not difficult to navigate through the park. Tight road at entrance; we were in the "A" loop so it was necessary to enter the park through that part of the road. Best spot in my opinion would be B33...it was up against the creek, had its own little gazebo on the creek and far enough away from any road noise. Since our site wasn't quite long enough to get our tow vehicle off the park road they let us park it in an adjacent site until it was needed. Thankfully, this seems to be a slower time of their season so we were able to use it throughout our stay. Nice folks! We camped at Little Arrow Outdoor Resort (formerly Tremont Outdoor Resort) in a Motorhome.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Lovely park, lots of trees, but no problem navigating around them with our rig. Entry is paved but Interior roads are gravel as are the sites so with all the rain we got while there made for lots of puddles ~ nothing the park could do about that. Laundry room is nice but most of the machines could use a little updating. Check in was smooth and staff was very friendly. Most sites have adequate room between each other with grass and picnic table. We had very little space between our rig and our neighbors, but it rained most of the time so we didn't spend much time outdoors. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Rock City was interesting; garden areas were lovely. Rhododendrons were in gorgeous full bloom. Chattanooga National Military Park (Lookout Mountain) is definitely a must see. We hiked out to the lookout point - the view is breathtaking. The food at Portofino's (an Italian/Greek restaurant just up the road from the park) is excellent!!

America's Best Campground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Imagine it was due to the weather as the park needed some TLC. Each site had a picnic table that looked like it had experienced some harsh winter weather. The sites up on the hill at the back of the park were quite close together (that's where we were parked). Don't know why they didn't put us in one of the sites more toward the middle; they had much more room around them. They mowed the grass while we were there and immediately our allergies started acting up - but I guess they need to mow when they can weather permitting. Hook ups were easy to reach, power worked fine. We camped at America's Best Campground in a Motorhome.

Because someone else had noted in a previous review...we too ate at the Farmhouse Cafe! Delicious food and they give you plenty! Their peach cobbler was YUMMY! Saw a couple of shows and our favorite was "The Sons of Britches" - great musicians and comedy to boot! Make sure you visit Table Rock Lake and visit the Chateau on the Lake.

Natchez Trace State Park / Pin Oak Lake, Lexington, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the most beautiful state parks we've ever camped! We were in a site that was for longer rigs, up on a bit of a rise and overlooking the most gorgeous lake. We even extended our stay so we could be closer to the lake - the sites right on the lake (we were in site 28, a back in) let you enjoy your cup of coffee watching the sun come up! Or enjoy a delightful sunset on the lake. We had a good bit of rain while there, but it ran off well, no puddle build up. The camp hosts were terrific, super friendly. We also had an exciting experience with a cottonmouth. One needs to remember this is the wilderness and they were here before us. We escorted the snake back to the lake and didn't see it again, but we did alert the camp host who immediately mowed the area down along the lake giving walkers an advantage. When hiking and walking around the lake, check where you are stepping! We camped at Natchez Trace State Park / Pin Oak Lake in a Motorhome.

Redman Creek Campground COE, Wappapello, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

As noted by a previous review, this park is wonderful. The sites are spaced so that you have plenty of room around you. Each site has a picnic table and fire pit. The area is wooded, but the roads are paved and easily navigated, trees were not a problem for our rig. The area around is beautiful. There is a lake nearby but we couldn't see it from our site. We had full hookups! We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.
