I'm a retired civil engineer (83) and my wife, Susie (5), is a self employed bookkeeper still working- remotely from our 30 foot travel trailer, our full time home.

Answer: My review was from a visit in July 2017, the other was a few years earlier. I'm not sure if it was improved or changed owners or what. However, keep in mind that the campground was hit very hard by major flooding in August 2017 from one of the hurricanes. If you plan to stay there, I would call and talk to the campground about facilities and such. I heard that much of the damage to their campground was caused by an old trailer park nearby, where the trailers floated along and crashed into their properties.

Answer: I would recommend you call the camping office at the Whittington Center and they can answer your questions. Would recommend a stay if it works with your travel schedule... we enjoyed our stay there.

I'd rate this park "average" for an overnight stop - compared to all the parks we've stayed in. But it is WAY below KOA standards for maintenance. The sites were level with full hookup and fine, but the shade trees are very young and provide no appreciable shade yet, and some need trimming. Pool ladder was broken and dangerous. Hot tub was closed for maintenance. Hot water in shower didn't work. We stayed one night in a 33' travel trailer. We camped at Lubbock KOA in a Travel Trailer.
