Lopez Lake Recreation Area, Arroyo Grande, California

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The campground includes a waterpark that offers special pricing for campers. We loved our stay here: good fishing and lots to do if you love water sports. There are great trails and tons of wild life! We had deer and wild turkeys within 10 feet of our site. My only complaint is that too many people do not follow the posted speed limits. Cell phone reception is extremely limited. We camped at Lopez Lake Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

San Diego Metro KOA, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: December, 2005 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This KOA is sparkling clean and the staff is very friendly and overall exceptional. Our kids were very happy with the playground, arcade, and pool. We would definitely go back here. The only reason for a 9 vs. a 10 is that some of the sites have lots of nighttime freeway noise - not a problem if you are in a hardside RV. We heard a lot in our hybrid. We camped at San Diego Metro KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Indian Hill Ranch & RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: September, 2005 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We loved our stay here. We stayed in a premium site behind the gates and easily fit 4 trailers on sites 2 and 3 to form a group camp. It was waterfront and everyone caught fish. There are huge catfish, trout, bass and bluegill. It is definitely isolated and you feel like you are getting away from it all. We'll be back. We camped at Indian Hill Ranch & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA, Hammond, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2005 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Great family campground. Excellent bathrooms and laundry. A little expensive for us and the wifi didn't work while we were there. We prefer Fort Stevens State Park, which is across the street. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Cedar City KOA, Cedar City, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Great campground for a day or two stopover. The bathrooms in the main building were the nicest I have ever seen hands down in a campground. We had trouble with internet access and a little too much highway noise. We camped at Cedar City KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Cascade Locks / Portland East KOA, Cascade Locks, Oregon

Overall Rating:

Nice, clean stopover campground. Very nice owners. Too close to the train for our taste, but our neighbors in a fifth wheel said it wasn't bad. We camped at Cascade Locks / Portland East KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground, Kalispell, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed our stay here. The owners are extremely nice and accommodating. Our kids LOVED the playground and the fishing/swimming pond. Weekly rates are very reasonable. The laundry was wonderful and so clean! The bathrooms were decent, but could use some updating. They were not always as clean as I like, but still reasonable, nontheless. We camped at Rocky Mountain Hi RV Park & Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is the best KOA we have ever stayed at! It had everything close and so much to do for the kids! We really appreciated the pancake breakfast, the nightly movies in their little theater and the water slide was a huge hit with the kids! It's very close to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial. There is so much to do in this area...we wish we had stayed a week rather than 4 nights. We camped at Mount Rushmore KOA at Palmer Gulch in a Tent Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This park had everything we needed for a fun, relaxing stay. There is even free coffee, cappucino, and hot chocolate in a nice lounge in the AM. Awesome laundry facilities, playground and bathrooms. It is extremely close to the west entrance of Yellowstone. We would return again in a heartbeat! We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park & Cabins in a Tent Trailer.

Jantzen Beach RV Park, Portland, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2005 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This campground shares a neighborhood with a trailer park and had lots of long termers. The bathrooms were not as clean or nice as advertised and we had to carry a pass to use the pool - which was inconvenient. We had a spot over a sewer lid and could smell the evidence each morning. We also had the dumpster on our site, so we had vagrants rummaging through the dumpster for cans, etc. while we ate dinner with our three small kids. My husband was also approached for money by another man while walking in the area. We never did see any security that was advertised - only a phone number to call. The so-called hiking trail was not convenient or easy to find and the office help was cool at best and rude at worst. I wouldn't stay there again if it was offered to me free! We camped at Jantzen Beach RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Agua Caliente County Park , Julian, California

Date of Stay: December, 2004 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This was way too primitive and desolate for our taste. We endured a wind storm that made us abandon our trailer in the middle of the night because it was lifting up off of its jacks. The kids were not allowed in the indoor pool and the outdoor pool was closed during our stay. We camped at Agua Caliente County Park in a Tent Trailer.
