We found Stone Mountain Park RV Campground very nice! The capacity appeared to be near or below 50% since it was still before the start for a "normal" camping season. Our site, 141, was a premium site worth what we paid for it given the location. The price we listed does not include the FMCA discount that we were given... an extra plus since we didn't see FMCA among the listed discounts. Our site had some shade trees in back of us, but was mostly open, just what we wanted since we use our King Dome in-motion satellite. We had no problem in using our King Dome, but quickly switched to the park's cable channels since their cable service carried the Direct TV programming that we view the most. Previous reviews have warned and complained about the extremely slow to non-existent wifi service; however, we found the wifi to be faster than the wifi at our sticks & bricks home. This could have been due to the low number of campers, but we were more than satisfied with it, and found it to be among the fastest wifi service that we have found at all of the campgrounds that we have visited. I don't know how the conditions would be when the campground is at capacity, but we found Stone Mountain Park RV Campground to be a very nice camping spot that we will look forward to returning to with our grand children when we take them on their annual RV vacation.
We drive a 45 foot pusher. Big rigs should use the east entrance to the park, US-78, Exit 8, due to a low clearance at the west entrance (this is also reflected on the campground's website). The turn into the actual campground will be a tight right turn, so be prepared for the large rocks on your right side. Once in the campground, the immediate left turn to stop for registration is also a tight area for big rigs. We camped at Stone Mountain Park in a Motorhome.
