Bonita Canyon Campground, Chiricahua Natl Mon, Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $6.00
Overall Rating:

This campground does not have power or water at the sites (water is available close to each site) and there is a 29 foot limit on trailer size. Because a stream runs through the campground (only after heavy rain) there are 2 fairly steep dips in the road, which will cause the "tail" of longer-than-29- ft. trailers to scrape and be damaged. With all that being said, this is a beautiful, forested, spacious, well maintained campground. We stayed with a 20 ft. R-POD, and had no problems. The host was friendly and helpful. We camped at Bonita Canyon Campground, Chiricahua Natl Mon in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground was just fun! We met interesting people and had a great time in Marfa. They have a communal kitchen and laundry facilities, which were very convenient. We camped at Tumble In RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Hotel Paisano, Marfa bookstore and Presidio County courthouse are all worth a visit. The Stellina restaurant had good food and even better people-watching. Note that many Marfa attractions are closed on Mon. and Tues.

Lost Dutchman State Park, Apache Junction, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park with good trails and very nice camping facilities. Our space (16) was large and level; the restrooms were cleaned at least once or twice per day and were always in good shape. The showers were individual, with an outside lock on each. The power and water worked well. We camped at Lost Dutchman State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a good grocery (Fry's) about 5 miles away in Apache Junction. The campground firewood was excellent- no need to go elsewhere for firewood.
