Fort Fisher Air Force Rec Area (Military FamCamp), Kure Beach, North Carolina

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

My camp spot was an open field with an electrical outlet next to a stage. the water was a faucet out of the main building (I needed a long hose to fill my camper) and the dump station is a 4 inch high white capped pipe in middle of a field. The bath house with 4 bath shower combo's were filthy (toilets, shower stalls and sinks were dirty) so I went to another RV area with another 4 stall bath house- same condition. I was told there was a bath house in rec hall- they where locked and closed. I went o office to ask when they might have someone clean the bath rooms. she said someone just did. I said I'm the only one camping there and for 3 days Ive been waiting for them to be cleaned. So this guy comes over and said he just restocked them and took trash out. Then he told me I am welcome to a job if I want to clean them. Then the lady behind the counter began to speak to me very rudely like she was blaming me for them being very short staffed. I said I just wanted to take a clean shower- that's all. If you are fully contained and don't need to use their bath house- and don't want to eat at the beach house restaurant or swim in the pool ;because they are ALL closed as well- than you are good to go. I cant believe they think that people would not want clean bathrooms and then get mad at campers for asking why they are never cleaned. I will never stay here again. We camped at Fort Fisher Air Force Rec Area (Military FamCamp) in a Travel Trailer.

JBSA Hancock Cove (Ft Sam Houston) Canyon Lake RV Park (Military FamCa, Canyon Lake, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I was supposed to stay for a couple weeks- but omg. I don't know who is in charge or what the workers do there. It is obvious no one cares. There was trash everywhere. In the woods, at the lookout over the lake, it had collected at the edges. The cottages are seriously over priced. I cant even get into how bad the bathrooms were. Anyone going in there that has anything to do with the base would clearly see how bad it is. The pressure from the water blew out my hose and the water quality was so horrible there were brown drip lines down my filter- I had to get a new hose and filter. The toilets had the same brown color - they said people complained about water in washing machines turning clothes brown - could only imagine what it was doing to my hair and skin. Very sad because the location has wonderful potential. We camped at JBSA Hancock Cove (Ft Sam Houston) Canyon Lake RV Park (Military FamCa in a Motorhome.
