Mountain View Campground, Hiawassee, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Outstanding small campground with great support from the owners. Mostly large motorhomes and fifth wheels, and several were there for extended stays. Owners do a variety of activities for guests - ice cream social, movie night, live music, etc. Lots of things to do in the area, and the scenery is beautiful. There's also a great grocery store (Ingel's) and hardware store in town. We'll likely return again next year. We camped at Mountain View Campground in a Motorhome.

Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park, White Springs, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice state park. Campsites are large and well-spaced out. There's a museum, an art/crafts/gift shop, a carillon, and hiking trails. Facilities were clean and in good condition. This was just a one-night stopover on our trip but we'll likely come back for a longer stay. We camped at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in a Motorhome.

Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park, Okeechobee, Florida

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

A wonderful small campground in the middle of a huge preserve. Good separation between sites. For more seclusion stay in the Equestrian loop. You do not need to have a horse to stay in this loop and it was deserted while the Family loop was about 70% full. Very quiet area, lots of wildlife. A real gem, I will definitely return. Note: the campground is about 5 miles into the park down a rough gravel road; just take it slow to minimize the bumps. We camped at Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park in a Motorhome.

Big Lagoon State Park, Pensacola, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

The park is very nice but little to no money has been invested in the campground section. Most sites are dirt/gravel/sand, many are not level, and several sites flood when it rains more than an inch (common for FL). There are some good sites available with concrete pads and patio space, and the sites were not too close together. We camped at Big Lagoon State Park in a Motorhome.

Highlands Hammock State Park, Sebring, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Camp sites are very, very close together. Didn't see any concrete pads, it appeared everything was dirt. Placement of electric & water in many sites was very bad. In our site (004, a back-in site), the fire ring was by the services making it unusable. There were two power outages during our three day visit. We camped at Highlands Hammock State Park in a Motorhome.
