Lake Guntersville State Park, Guntersville, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park on a beautiful lake. The sunsets are amazing. Some spots are close together. Ours was an end site with plenty of space. Sites near the lake are not shaded due to a tornado that touched down in the past but many new trees have been planted to provide shade in the future. The sites away from the lake do have shade. The bathhouse is very clean and has great showers with lots of water pressure. They have a campground family movie on weekends. The Inn is beautiful as well with a restaurant, lounge, pool and small gym. Cabins in the campground can also be rented. There is a beach at the campground but you can swim just about any where on the lake. You can also rent kayaks and canoes (or bring your own) and put in right at the campground. We camped at Lake Guntersville State Park in a Motorhome.

Lakepoint Resort State Park, Eufaula, Alabama

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground mid-week in July. We were in the Clark Loop with a site on the lake. There was only one other camper in that loop and the entire campground was pretty empty. The Deer Court Loop has full hook up with pull thru sites. The bath house was very clean, could use some upgrades, but wasn't bad. The lake has alligators that swam back in forth in front of our campsite so no swimming. Since we did not have a boat and I'm not into fishing, it was a little boring for me. They have an inn with a pool that campers can use. I did not use the pool but there were many kids enjoying it. The Inn also has a restaurant and small lounge. Both were also very empty during our visit. We camped at Lakepoint Resort State Park in a Motorhome.
