Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA, Visalia, California

Date of Stay: January, 2019 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel roads and spaces. Had been raining so no dust but also no mud or flooding. Spot was easy to get to and level. Services located mid way down the space and as I have all my hookups midway this works great. Friendly staff. We camped at Visalia / Sequoia National Park KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Diesel at Costco is cheapest for credit but it is a 10 minute drive away. Local diesel was $0.40 more than Costco.

Countryside RV Park, LLC, Dillon, Montana

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 3 nights to visit relatives and get ready for the next leg of our trip. The sewer connection is a bit high making it difficult to get a good drain. We camped at Countryside RV Park, LLC in a Fifth Wheel.

Shopping is in Dillon at the Safeway where we also found the cheapest diesel. We found propane at Rocky Mountain Supply behind the Cenex.

The Longhorn Ranch Lodge & RV Resort, Dubois, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. Unfortunately there were some fires in the area and for a couple of days it was quite smoky. Otherwise the place is beautiful. The hookups were where they should be and easy to access. We faced a large lawn area that sloped down to the river. We camped at The Longhorn Ranch Lodge & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We just enjoyed the park. We were getting ready to go to Grand Teton park and needed to stock up. The best place to go shopping is back in Riverton 70+ miles away.

Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) , Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

The sites are very sloped. I had to put block under the rear levelers on one side and the tires on that side were not touching the ground. The front was so low I could not have the feet extended. Other people complained about the slope. One person couldn't get the motorcycle out of his toy hauler due to the steep ramp caused the motorcycle to high center. The sewer connection was higher that my connection on the 5th wheel. It was about 2 feet higher than the site pad. Had to walk the hose to get it drained. We camped at Colter Bay Village RV Park -- Full Hookups (Concessionaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

As we were there the last week they would be open, the store had bare shelves, the coffee shop was closed. The restaurant was open.

Visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton.

Shady Acres RV Park & Campground, Green River, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We were here for two weeks. The place is a bit run down but the staff is working to fix things up. The spaces were level. Where we were there, the grass was dead and going away from the pad the land sloped down a lot making it difficult to get to the first step. We had a few items delivered here and it can be quite confusing. One package went to the post office as they requested and the person picking up mail took it home making it difficult to find. Other packages were delivered to the store next door as the office is not open in the morning. We camped at Shady Acres RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town is pretty dead. Shopping is over an hour away in Grand Junction Colorado or Price Utah (people we asked said they went to Colorado). There is one store in Green River but their selection is limited and the prices are high. Be sure to get some melons at the various fruit stands. This is the one thing Green River is famous for. If you don't mind a dirt road drive out to Crystal Geyser.

Dolores River Campground, Dolores, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very scenic place. There are 2 ponds just off the river. You cross a bridge between the ponds to get to the path that goes along the river. The people are very friendly. It is quiet and relaxing. They have a ice cream social, pizza night and other various events during the week. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 7 days. The spaces are the closest we have ever been in, and we have been traveling continuously for 4 months. The hookups were easy to do. Water pressure was OK. For the price the place was OK but I wouldn't stay for any extended time. The park is at the end of a airport runway so there is some plane noise. We like to bike ride and found the options here limited. We camped at USA RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Be sure to visit the dancing in the town square. Also the trip to the Navajo Nation, Window Rock is worth it. Wander around downtown and see the sights. A good place to eat is Jerry's Cafe.

Desert Shadows RV Resort, Phoenix, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed here. The first time was in April 2018 for a month while we waited for the plates for our vehicles to arrive. Getting a mailbox is easy, pay $5 deposit for key and fill out the form inside the box and you start receiving mail. The spot we had was across from the laundry. We had to back in but an employee helped out. The power post had a bad circuit breaker but the maintenance person came out right away and replaced the breakers. The WiFi is poor and if you want more than 1 hour a day or 1 device you must pay. After paying the WiFi didn't improve. Usually we used our hot spot. For the monthly rate you must pay by cash or check. At the end of the month we put the 5th wheel into their storage for $60 per month. Storage is inside a fenced monitored area but uncovered. When we came back we stayed an additional week. The spot we had for the week was a pull through. The space had room to park the 5th wheel and our truck. I would say it is 60+ feet long. WiFi is no better in the short term area. We biked around the park every day (Phoenix is one of the most dangerous places in the US for pedestrians). You can pay for the weekly or daily using credit card, cash or check. Things I like: • Friendly people • Close to shopping • Close to good reasonable restaurants • Workout room • A safe place to bike or walk • Good water pressure • Quiet, except for the normal big city sounds • Easy to get to and leave • Garbage pickup twice weekly • Office has rolls of quarters • Wash $1.50, Dry $.25 for 8 minutes Things I didn't like: • WiFi is poor • Rates are at the high end. We camped at Desert Shadows RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

If you get a remote for the back gate Costco is right across the street otherwise you have to drive around the block. Costco has the best price on diesel.
