Alamosa Economy Campground, Alamosa, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 days here in early Aug 2019 @ $40 per day. The owners will tell you they are the cheapest in town (and they may well be), but they are not worth $40 per day. The sites are dirt with brier patch weeds thrown in for color, very close sites, the foul tasting water is shared so when the neighbor flushes your water pressure drops and the advertised WiFi is AT BEST 1 Mbps. Presuming you can get that! The game room looks like a drug dealer parlor and video game parlor mated. The bathroom/shower was/is not up to code. (view the attached pictures). No toilet paper in the bathrooms for paying customers. The house foyer doubles as the office. Arrived at 1 pm and had to wake the owner to get a site and pay. Within 1 hour I complained to the owners about a barking dog tied up outside. Extreme lack of concern about the barking dog. I would not stay here ever again! The owner bragged to me on how he is cleaning up the place from all the drug users by raising the prices. I think he has a way to go. This place needs a LOT of work. Don't stop here. We camped at Alamosa Economy Campground in a Motorhome.

Lake View RV Campground Bait and Grocery, Hasty, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 weekdays here at the end of July 2019 at $22.86 each day for 30 amps, water and electric only. No discounts. No sewer. The only nice thing I can say about this campground is the Internet was fast. 5 Mbps. Many shady sites if the trees would be trimmed. My class A is 12'2" and could not enter many sites because of the low branches. Most sites would be pull-thrus, if you can avoid the branches. The grass did not look like it had been mowed in months (I only wonder how many ticks and flea bites I'll get), the men's bathroom had not been clean since the last construction job and I only wonder what foot diseases I'll get because of it. The ladies bathroom was cleaner, but you still need to bring a fly swatter with you. The first site I was assigned to (11) had reverse polarity errors. The 2nd site (15) had a broken 50 amp plug. The third site (2) had less then 108 volts when I ran the AC. Had to turn off the AC to run anything else. The owners/managers live at site 3. Polite enough. The wife said the husband has a disability, hence nothing is getting done. They have 2 HUGE dogs and 1 small dog which they allowed to run loose and urinate at my site or wherever else the dogs wish. After a rain storm I could smell the urine. They website advertises laundry, but there is not any. Did not enter the bait shop, so I can not address it. The campground had painted tires and other trash throughout (see attached pictures). Each site has a fire ring, if you can find it within the weeds. 2 long term residents, the owners and 1 employee live on site. When the employee left at 6am he revved his loud exhaust on the way out. He also left his dog penned in his yard. The dog barked from 6:30 am until 8:30 am when the owners took it inside. Learn from my mistake and stay away. We camped at Lake View RV Campground Bait and Grocery in a Motorhome.

Water Sports RV Park & Campground, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 days at the end of July at $21.60 per night for FHU after discount. This is an older CG with recent grassy field added on. Older section has some trees, newer section does not. Mostly all sites pull-through. All sites gravel and level with grassy patio. Sites normal length (approx. 50 wide X 75 long) Easy location for tourist stuff. Aging bathrooms but clean enough. WiFi was pitiful slow. Used Verizon hot spot instead. Several OTA TV stations. Cable had been removed years ago. Would stay here again. We camped at Water Sports RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Payne Oil RV Park, Newton, Kansas

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed 4 days in late July 2019 at $20 per day. Pay on the honor system across the street at Payne Oil. Pay box at door. They do not own CG only collect monies. Both 50 and 30 amp pedestals at each site, however sewer is on wrong side for every other site. Sites very long and very flat & level. No numbering at any of the 20 sites. Only 5 trees in whole park. Water pressure very low at 32 (at my site) Days very hot at 90 plus degrees, therefore electric dipped below 108 volts when running AC. Could not run AC and anything else, would drop below 108 amps. Very close to Interstate 135 so lots of highway noise. Didn't bother me. 5 long term residents when we were there. Very quiet folks! No bathrooms, no showers, no host, no WiFi but many OTA TV stations. A great overnight or weekend stop. Verizon hotspot very good speeds at 1.5 Mbps. Would stay here again, regardless of the weather. We camped at Payne Oil RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kaibab Paiute Band Tribal Campground, Kaibab, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We spent time here May 2019 @ $25 per night on Indian reservation. This is another gravel parking lot with RV pedestals. NO trees and NO shade. Plenty of views. Beautiful club house with very nice showers! Hosts (who get free rent) very very nice and helpful. Water taste good and pressure was good. WiFi towers cut out a lot and had to be reset the next day. WiFi worked great at club house only. Plenty of barking dogs and people walking dogs who never picked up after dogs. A staff member told me the tribe will never talk to anyone for their barking dog. No over the air or cable TV and NO telephone service. Every phone call had to be WiFi calling and it was "iffy" at best. The tent area was nice but no water or electric at tent areas. No speed limit in park and staff took full advantage. All sites pull-thru with FHU. Mostly level. No American flag displayed, no military discount and GS flag was torn and in poor shape. Many, many things to do in the area. No phone service except through WiFi. No OTA TV. We camped at Kaibab Paiute Band Tribal Campground in a Motorhome.

Grande Vista RV Park, Willcox, Arizona

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Spent one night in Aug 2018 @ $36. Park just under 1 mile from I-10 but no road noise. Easy to find through town! Gravel pull-through's & back-ins are flat, level and clean. Whole park looks great. Cable TV (8 channels). WiFi is OUTSTANDING!! Staff superb. New management will/should update very clean bath-house. Still great but shows age. Laundry very economical. Lots to do locally if towing. We camped at Grande Vista RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bud's Place RV Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 2 nights in Aug 2018 @ $45 per night with discount. This is a gravel parking lot set up for RV's. Many monthlies who appear to work in construction or the oil fields. Lots of dusty traffic early & late, because of this. All sites gravel, pull-through, level & FHP including cable and WiFi (cable requires free issued box and call a to provider to turn on). Electrical volts barely enough during 100 degree weather. This is bad for AC. Showers are new and clean. No place for the kiddies to play! Construction in front of park on city street when I was here. Laundry $2 to wash & $1.50 to dry. One of the more expensive places to stay for next to nothing extra. Roads wide and level, plenty of room. Will not return or recommend. Go someplace else. Too expensive for what you pay for. We camped at Bud's Place RV Park in a Motorhome.
