Elk Neck State Park, North East, Maryland

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park appeared to be well managed. Grass had been cut the afternoon of our arrival. It was very hot the 1st day so the shade and breeze were a welcome relief. Front gate attendant was courteous and helpful. He was the only staff that we encountered. The map that we were given was easy to follow. Unfortunately, swimming was prohibited because of debris and filth in the water from when Conowingo Dam opened. There are many sites that were vacant so our stay was quiet and serene. Our site, #18 was the perfect set-up since we had our 3 grand kids with us ages 12, 10 and 8. There was a wide open space behind where the boys could toss a ball around or play hide-and-seek. There was also a playground right there which consisted of swings, a slide, and a climbing apparatus. Power pedestal was in good working order. Only sites in the North East Loop provide all three services - electric, sewage, and water. We camped at Elk Neck State Park in a Motorhome.
