Black Moshannon State Park, Philipsburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The camp sites were a bit close, but there were trees between you. I was a little surprised at the full hook ups we saw did not allow pets. Great back country roads to ride your bikes on. We camped at Black Moshannon State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Cove Beach Resort, Charleroi, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Because of the high heat/humidity we decided against Boondocking at my SIL's home and called Pine Cove to see if we could add 2 more days to our reservation. A staff member jumped right on our call and within minutes, had someone switch out their spot so we wouldn't have to move during our 4 day stay. We back up to water/woods so it's a great view. Garbage pickup at the end of your site and walking distance to the large pool/slide area. We camped at Pine Cove Beach Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeview Campground USFS, Leadville, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We checked into this campground and there was only 1 other camper in our Loop C. Turns out they live about 20 minutes from us. Campground host reminded us we needed to have a 2" wide stripe on our hammock and they said a paper plate would work. You are over 9,000' above sea level here and the temps dropped close to 40 at night with highs in the 60's. A quick 3 mile drive into Twin Lakes village for a nice dinner, a stunning art gallery and a speed cop that never leaves. :-) Drive into Twin Lakes Village for a nice dinner at the Inn. The service/food was great. There is also a visitor's center across the street that has free WIFI. I had 2 bars on my Verizon LTE. The camphost had a WeBoost and had 4 bars. The mountain views with the twin lakes below were just stunning. Hiking everywhere. We camped at Lakeview Campground USFS in a Travel Trailer.

Blue Lakes Campground - USFS, La Veta, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We were there towards the end of June and we still had snow at our site making it hard to get to the fire pit and picnic table so we didn't use. Our first site that we reserved was too small (internet was incorrect) but host allowed us to pick any walk up site that would work. The campground was full. Great weather of 68 for the high and down to 33 at night. Plan for a slow journey of the 4 mile gravel road and we used 4X4 in some spots to get up the hill and make the turns. We camped at Blue Lakes Campground - USFS in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The scenery is absolutely beautiful here and you have access to the small town of La Veta or the cute little village of Cuchera if you need anything but the gravel road is slow going because of the wash-boarding. You can walk to Blue Lake as well as Bear Lake and you have access to amazing hiking trails. Just be cautious of the high altitude if you are not a CO resident.

Clear Creek RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

The staff was very friendly and they just happened to have a cancellation that morning where they could fit us in for 2 days. We love the access to bike trails right from the campground and the opportunity to walk downtown to shop and have something to eat. What we don't like is the spaces are very close and no privacy, but that's the give and take for a small city RV park. We camped at Clear Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Redstone Campground, Redstone, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

The site we stayed in was a pull through with water hook-ups. It was very private. We found the showers to be clean and large. It's only 2 miles up to Redstone Inn where you can find cell coverage. We camped at Redstone Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the Redstone Inn for a nice meal or appetizers/drinks. Just two miles up the road and the little village of Redstone is really quaint. You can also tour Redstone Castle just a bit further up the road. Creek was running high and fast with all the Colorado snow melt and made it very peaceful to listen to.

Gore Creek Campground - USFS, Vail, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for two nights at site 15. The hosts keep the campground very clean. Gore Creek was running hard so the white noise was all you could hear except for the chatter of the little black squirrels. We camped at Gore Creek Campground - USFS in a Travel Trailer.
