Tucson / Lazydays KOA, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Big park, lots of services including an on site restaurant. Well protected, quiet, clean. Trash pick up includes provision for recycling if you wish. Pet friendly, (you can request a site with your own personal dog playground with fence.) Wide interior roads. Well lit. Things warm up in Arizona.... We requested a site under the solar panels and it made all the difference. Low glare, cool days made up for not being able to see the stars. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Motorhome.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Would have given this park a 10 except that it does not have a pool. (they do have a spa area) The internet is EXCELLENT! The sites are gravel but level some are pull through with sewer and electricity centrally located. The cable TV was sketchy but it's free??? Office is beautiful with a great store and seating area. Bathrooms are cool, clean, close. Close to hwy so there is a little sound of traffic. Close to Messilla which is not to be missed! We camped at Las Cruces KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Restaurants and shopping are close. The "Dog Hause" restaurant in Mesilla is great if you have a dog, but we found that most places in New Mexico are pet friendly including McDonalds. Be careful of the heat, do your exploring in the morning or evening. Not like California, most places close early and on weekends. PS. It is "New Mexican food NOT Mexican food AND is it HOT.

Mesa Spirit RV Resort (55+ park), Mesa, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Don't waste your time! We were led to believe that this was an upscale, modern RV Park. On the phone they were attentive to the year of our coach and the price. We were challenged at the gate (guard/clipboard etc.) We were not shown a map or given a description of the site, only that we would be let to the site. When we finally got there, it turned out to be a barren, small site gravel and slab with a tree that impinges on the site. The amenities were at least two city blocks away! When we told them that we would not be staying, they did not suggest another park. We camped at Mesa Spirit RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Shoreline RV Park, Eureka, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Near highway on and off. Staff fun to deal with and helpful. Laundry was clean and worked well. Paved site (be careful of safety poles near utilities) 30 and 50 amp, check with office first if it is a priority. Long pull throughs but you may need longer sewer hoses etc. We camped at Shoreline RV Park in a Motorhome.

Farmer's market in Arcata - Saturday. (go to look at the people)

Within 5/6 miles to Samoa Cookhouse, Kristina's and Arcata. Ask for a tour through the Lumber yard near the bay.
