Drummer Boy Camping Resort, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park several times over the years. With this stay we noticed the park is looking rather scruffy. There appears to be more permanent (seasonal) sites and with that comes some sites that are becoming eyesores. There is a RV where the slide out came completely out of the RV and is busted up laying on the ground. No idea how long it has been that way. Some rigs look like they have not been cleaned since they were parked. The grass (and some trees) need cutting throughout the park. The wireless throughput was poor, fluctuating between .21Mbps to 2.40Mbps. If you need to get some work done, don't count on this network. Cable TV had a lot of signal noise. Not something I'm used to seeing. Water pressure was a bit low running between 30 and 50PSI, surprised by that. It would have been nice to see a consistent 60PSI but that did not happen. Power was excellent. Not exactly big rig friendly with some tight turns and like I said trees need to be cut back but it's do-able. Staff is friendly and professional. Overall I guess I'm somewhat disappointed. If I was staying for $30 a night I would just roll with it but for what we paid to stay I hold the park to a higher standard and it fell short. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Southwoods RV Resort, Byron, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed at this park serveral times with our group. The staff is friendly and professional. The owners are constantly updating their facilities. Power and water pressure was excellent. The wifi was the best I have ever experienced, consistently above 15Mbps for downloads. There is only 30 amp available on the hill but we never had shortage of power in our 50amp rig. We camped at Southwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Kanakadea Park, Hornell, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

A nice county park. Fill up with water when you come in. No sewer on sites but there is a dump station. Power was excellent. Sites facing the water are not level by any stretch of the imagination and takes a bit of doing to level your rig. The staff seems to be easily overwhelmed by the reservation system so double check your reservation. We camped at Kanakadea Park in a Motorhome.

Country Charm Campground, Middlesex, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park is small and mostly setup for permanents. Power is the biggest problem. There is not enough power available for warm summer days (or nights). Another problem is the dump station. If you have a big rig, like us, you can't get to the dump station. A large tree on one side and bushes on the other are a problem. Dirt roads throughout the park would not be a problem if the residents did the speed limit. We camped at Country Charm Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverforest Park Campground, Weedsport, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is the second time we stayed at this park. First time was 16 years ago and we were disappointed back then. There has been little to no real upgrades to this park since then. Water pressure was 20 PSI and at times less. We used a Hughes Autoformer during this stay because last time the power was so bad and I didn't want to chance it. No sewer. For $45.00 a night we had 30 amp power and water only, that is all the park provides. All the facilities were dated 16 years ago and there have been no improvements since then. Restroom cleanliness unbelievably remains an issue with some unusable. Remember, $45.00 a night. Mostly permanents at the park and they are parked one on top of another. Roads are in rough shape. We camped at Riverforest Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tumble Hill Campground, Cohocton, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice small campground well maintained by the current owners. Quite a climb coming in but not a real problem. We have stayed here many times and we are finding most of the sites are being turned over to permanent/seasonal. Not many sites left for transients. Not sure how much longer we will be able to go with our group. We camped at Tumble Hill Campground in a Motorhome.
