Sawtelle Mountain Resort, Island Park, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

You are very close to Yellowstone but you pay for it. I would never recommend this campground for big rigs, we had a 26'class c with toad and could hardly get thru the maze to our site. We had an escort and he was very nice with suggestions on places to go jeep riding. We were in the area with the air force campers that are rented by active personal. Around us was also seasonal people that we seldom seen, we spent 3 nights at the campground. I would recommend this place for smaller rv's and trailers, but I did see a few big class a's in sites with trees touching them. It was full hook ups, no tv and no att. We camped at Sawtelle Mountain Resort in a Motorhome.

Carriage House Inn & RV Park, Bonners Ferry, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground as it was close to hiking and en-route to our next destination. Our site was surrounded with big dead trees, we asked to move and was told no. Questions to ask when booking: are all the sites buddy sites? Next question is how many dead trees are around my site, 4 or more? Is it normal for a guy to walk around with a rifle and padded vest on? The buddy sites were so close a picnic table fit door to door. Awkward was the stay, looking in each other's doors and windows. Bathrooms(2) had no hooks to hang your towel, just the toilet to put things on. The 2 unisex bathrooms were well used by tent campers and off the street people that cut threw the back of the campground. There are seasonal and stationary campers with dogs. A construction crew was staying here, and 4 am started a roar of trucks each day. Check in was not easy and manager was rude. I would not stay or suggest this camp ground to anyone. Their web site said they give military discount but they would not. We camped at Carriage House Inn & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Moose Creek RV Park and B&B (formerly San-Suz-Ed RV Park), West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Close to Glacier, quiet at night, very nice owners, great pie, free campfiRe at entrance and cabins too. Sites are close but many people arrive late and leave the next am so the days are peaceful. Side note, never seen so many rv people hit trees, back into trees and scrape trees. This is a forest you camp in with trees at the sides of the entrance to your spot. Not angled spots either, so difficult to maneuver. If a site is for a 20 foot trailer, believe it. We have a 25 foot class c, and we picked 35 foot sites so a little tight. You may need to string your water(we used 35 foot water hose)and electric thru another's site to reach the hook ups. Can be confusing for some, 2 times we seen a 20 amp site plunged into a 30 amps pole, and heated conversations could be heard(not us) We locked ours as we had it unpluged(30 amp) one day for 2 hours with a 20 year old cat inside. Probably kids or someone that thought ours was there's. Was happy there was no wood campfires in the campsite as we were close and the trees were a fire hazard for sure. You can rent a propane fire pit, 5.00 or with propane 15.00 a night. I would come back again, stayed 12 nights. We stayed at 3 different sites as we booked at the last minute. We camped at Moose Creek RV Park and B&B (formerly San-Suz-Ed RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Beavertail Hill State Park, Clinton, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Called to make the reservation as web site had some issues, was booked into this site for 3 nights. Upon arriving, a camp host stopped us at the entrance and said your site is over there, so off we went to over there. When we pulled up the stench was so bad, we asked for another site. None available. Seems the pit toilet was over due by 3 weeks to be pumped and the stench and flies were unbelievable. We decided to tough it out as we could not get a refund, (112.00) and go out for the days and roam around. Ghost town is great, found a few hiking trails and came across the big horn sheep, score. Now back to poop campsite, big surprise poop sucker truck arrived, and did it stink before, yes. Now imagine 10 fold the stink and about a million flies trying to get on you. We stayed in the RV the entire time we were at the campground, kinda a forced prison. People in tents left in the middle of the night as they said they couldn't take it. No dump station, no water at sites, there is another bathroom with real toilets at the other end of campground, try to book a spot at that end. Watched each day a large family wash at the drinking water spigot each day, towels, soap and robes, interesting!Try to book away from pit toilet area. Disinfect water spigot before use, guys are out at dusk. I would not stay again. We camped at Beavertail Hill State Park in a Motorhome.

Montana’s Pine Meadows RV Retreat, Bigfork, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We were searching for a place to fill in before our stay at glacier and came across this park. A little more then we like to pay, but we were pleasantly surprised at how large your lot was and how quiet it was. No barking dogs anywhere, no dogs off leashes, just a peaceful setting to camp and relax. There is no tent camping as there are no facilities, you must be a self contained rv, meaning toilet and shower. All sites are full hook up, water is great testing, garbage is to be put at pump building in front by 3 pm. Lots of places to eat with in a mile, and a bit farther is a interesting town with stores, shopping and restaurants as well as theater shows some nights. The big draw is the large lake. I would return and stay longer. 45.00 a night if staying a week, 40.00 if staying a month. 50.00 a night . The roads are paved, and spots are on well packed gravel. We camped at Montana’s Pine Meadows RV Retreat in a Motorhome.

Rendezvous Beach Bear Lake State Park, Garden City, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Made a reservation from their web site: Grade: Slight- it took 3 blocks in the front and then we gave up. It was a severe grade. Partial shade-NOPE, full sun! Proximity to Water: Lakefront: this is the best one, we were not even close to the water. Side note: The park will turn you away until 3, we parked in the overflow parking lot outside the gate and counted 12 5th wheels let thru the gate before 3 some as early as 2, 4 of us set outside the gate until 3. I would never return here as the site you pay for is not what you get. The web site is not correct in its listings. Don't arrive before 3 as they will not let you in even if your site is vacant. We camped at Rendezvous Beach Bear Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Lazy Acres Campground & Motel, Riverside, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

4 night stay, 42.00 a night fhu. Our site was very small, 6 foot from the slide of a 5th wheel. Granted we were gone most of the day 4 wheeling but the neighbors had a party every evening. A lot of inappropriate discussions for all to hear. It was over by quiet hours. The constant dogs off leashes to include the neighbors was ridicules, especially with all the rules about the 6 foot leash etc. Every am, a lady and her corgi would go on our left side to play catch with the ball thrown at our camper. Of course the dog was off leash and even when a tent camper was set up next to us, with the person in the tent sleeping, she continued to play ball! A family reunion was going on in front of our site, but they were great. Bathrooms were clean, 1 shower for women and the lines were long at times. The shower was a hit the button type that only lasted a short time, so after 12 hits I was done showering. Laundry room was nice, book exchange. I would not return again as rules are not enforced about dogs, camp hosts to be included. We camped at Lazy Acres Campground & Motel in a Motorhome.

Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Lucerne Campground, Manila, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Lucerne Campground The sites are big, elec only. No place to dump dish water, does not have a dish washing station available. You are absolutely forbidden to dispose of dish washing water anywhere except to the dump station for 6.00. you have to pay 6.00 with credit card at dump station. You can fill your fresh water tank at the dump station. we used paper everything, and plastic silverware. About 3 pm the wind starts and last for several hours, no shade and the wooden partial fence at the table never gave us any relief from the sun. It was brutal. An employee had her dogs running free several times, 1st camper by the office. If you have a boat you will love this place, but hiking is 25 miles away. Try to go to the dam, (42 miles from campground)had a great free tour and the gorge is beautiful from there. Pull off at turnouts, the views are amazing. Bathrooms are very clean, showers are unisex, 4 of them and very busy from 6-10 pm, they are locked at 10pm. Shower early. Arrival, if at all possible tow your vehicle in(behind rv), no charge, if you drive it in with rv, a charge a day for it. I would not come back, as there is nothing to do and the wind is too strong for eating out or cooking out. Pics: all canyon pics are by the dam, 40 miles away. We camped at Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, Lucerne Campground in a Motorhome.

Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest, Bellvue, Colorado

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Best campsite in all my travels! I am only going to speak for a 26 foot class C with a toad. Some corners are very sharp, and line of vision is blocked by the curves to see on coming traffic. Lots of pullovers for slow vehicles, but they are sometimes very bumpy and dirt. We also traveled on 14 west, no problem for 127 miles, to include these roads,125, 230. No cell service, no dump station, .50 showers, clean pit toilets, garbage bins, fire wood 5.00, sites can accommodate 1 slide but trees and wooden platforms obstruct usage of 2 in some cases. Site 32, got on a last minute cancellation for 3 days, elec, and facing the woods. Beautiful site, still can hear the river, had mule deer in our front yard, squirrels, birds and massive views. See pics. We filled our tank by hand with collapsible water containers at the spigot by the pit toilets. We never seen a ranger the entire time, we also could get no info on the areas hikes or maps etc. Plan before you arrive with info from the internet or Alltrails. When you arrive, don't plan on getting into your site early, people stick around until 1 and then a mass exit, go straight to your site, no check in necessary. If you do come early before 2 and your site is occupied, by the entrance is a large parking lot, you can wait it out. If you need diesel fuel you will have to return to intersection of 14 and 287 near Ft Collins 18 miles east, or go west for 65 miles to Walden, gas 9 miles west. Thoughts: Water here tastes great, bugs at late afternoon, be mountain lion aware, would return again, felt bad using paper and plastic everything to reduce grey water usage. We camped at Mountain Park Campground-Roosevelt Nat'l. Forest in a Motorhome.

Blue Ox RV Park (Blue Ox customers only), Pender, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this campground because our Blue Ox tow bar was not working correctly, 134.00 later the year old tow bar literally had a screw loose inside the tow bar that we could not get to. Thursday and Friday they do repairs and annual services. There are a handful of restaurants in the area. An option for Blue Ox owners is a free campsite. The campgrounds are nicely laced out, FHU, full sun and some have cement pads others gravel. There is a club house with free water and soft drinks as well as snacks. There are no bathhouses, but a restroom is located in the club house that has limited hours. Easy in and out of the campgrounds, do be sure you map yourself to the campground not the factory. You can check in at the club house or wait at your site for the mechanic to pick up your tow bar, not sure how it works for other items. We called and made a reservation for the service and the campground. Call if you are not a Blue Ox owner for a reservation or a tour. Watch out for the water pressure! Go straight to the camp ground to your site, there is usually someone on duty in the club house, was not the day we went. We just went to the asking spot from the email. Be careful with the water it is high pressure, we filled our tank and used it instead of staying connected to the hand pump. We camped at Blue Ox RV Park (Blue Ox customers only) in a Motorhome.

Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins, Henderson, Nebraska

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the campground for 2 nights on our way to Colorado, booked with 2 days notice, 30 amp FHU. Campground had a handful of people that arrived after 3 pm, most left the next AM. You are close to the interstate but I never noticed the road noise inside the camper, easy to find the campground. Nice clean bathhouses and laundry. They escort you to your site and are very specific where you go and how far you pull in. Water you hook to cannot be used for drinking as the farmland around the area has raised the nitrate levels too high. They do provide reverse osmosis water at the office to fill your water containers with. A Walmart is 12 miles from the campgrounds and many restaurants in that area, the town of York. We were given site 14. Water pressure was fine, well water, electric and sewer was also great. Site was very long so you don't have to unhook your toad. Nice little pond to use, they provide paddle boats, lots of birds. All dogs were on leashes, a first for me to see. I would stay again when traveling thru, they gave me a veterans 10% discount, total for 2 nights 76.58. (What a deal! laundry: dryers .50 (30 min), washers 1.00). Very nice people that work here, always busy mowing, spraying and keeping everything in tip top shape. We camped at Prairie Oasis Campground and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Cherry Glen COE, Johnston, Iowa

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

Our spot was unlevel, but 2 stackable pads in the rear made it almost level. #51 - I would stay in this spot again as the oriole birds and their nests was amazing. You are in the woods and feel like you are the only one around in this site. There are bike trails, paved, that go on forever. I took off 1 star as dogs were running loose in the campgrounds and other areas. There is no water at your site but there is water available at the dump station. Mt. Hawley Mobile Home & RV Park, Peoria, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We were very happy with our stay here, it is not a real camp ground, no bathhouse, restrooms, laundry or pool. You are nestled in with mobile homes, many no longer occupied. 5 rv sites are together in the middle section, and that is where we stayed, site 91. Shady tree and a very quiet section. Water pressure was great, no problem with electric and sewer was close enough to use one section of hose. Many +++to this park, close to restaurants(walking distance), shopping and banks, also a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. There are a lot of rv sites in the front part of the park but we liked the middle section. All full hook ups, some easier then others to use, some you will have to crawl under the rv to hook up. 225. a week, 550 a month or 45 a day. Keep in mind they are the only game in town, but I still would have stayed here for close proximity to family. We also stored our rv for 70 a month while we traveled to Panama. We camped at Mt. Flamingo Campground (NPS Campground), Homestead, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for 2 weeks, and when we arrived the weeds were over my ankles, so guess how high they were in 2 weeks? The problem with not mowing is the snakes, bugs and critters. We had an end spot, so it was huge but you didn't want to walk out because of the snakes. You don't see them in the tall weeds until you are on them. Because there are inner rows with electric, the other rows surrounding you do not have power, and many run generators from 8 am to 10 pm, non stop. I bet they are very hot, but it's a hum of noise all day. Come late afternoon with out wind, head to the camper or you are eaten alive. We knew this going in, but you may not. No water at your site, but one bathroom had a fill and a dump. There was no designated rinse for dump, so everyone was using the fresh water fill. To be clear, the campground has no hot water for showers or dish washing station. Check out is 10 am, pretty early. Positives: great biking, birding, att to stream movies. Make sure to go on a late afternoon boat ride. We camped at Flamingo Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Midway Campground - Big Cypress National Preserve, Ochopee, Florida

Date of Stay: February, 2019 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

You are pretty far from a store, so stock up on your food supplies. Fill with fuel before getting here also. The park is very nice, water and dump station at front of park, no water at your campsite. All the campsites looked great to stay at, a small pond is in the middle with a gator, watch your dog, really. Bugs at dusk and no amount of spray helped. Lots of wildlife and plenty to do in the area. Biking shark valley is a must, and stop by the ranger/visitor center to see the boardwalk of gators. The camp hosts are on the ball, so don't feel nervous about stay in the middle of no where by the road. I would return again.
