Jetty Park Campground, Cape Canaveral, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is an inexpensive campground within walking distance of the beach. Keep in mind that you get what you pay for - so the bathhouse is functional not fancy, and some spaces are VERY close together, and some are pretty far from the beach. Also some sites have shade and some have a slab surface. I recommend doing what we did - check Google Maps satellite and the campground map to select a good site. The Port Authority does a good job trying to keep things clean, but this is on the beach, so the showers were frequently filled with sand. Other reviewers reported that the water never became hot - I found that as well, but since it was July, a cool (not cold) shower was pleasant. The beach was as I expected - not great, but it was the beach. No shells. It was also rather dirty (trash). The area is industrial - it is a working port, with lots of cruise ships coming and going. But it is quiet, and there is much to see nearby. All-in-all a nice place. If we return, I would get a site with sewer to use our own facilities. We camped at Jetty Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Great restaurants at the Cove, less than 1 mile away. Relatively convenient to Kennedy Space Center, which was our primary attraction. This would be an EXCELLENT place to view a launch.
