Blythe Island Regional Park Campground, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, seemed newish. Had many amenities if you were staying a while, like fishing dock, boat lift, bait sales, picnic pavillons. We were in a pull thru site with a concrete pad and fire pit. All sites were 50 amp. Very treed for privacy and nice areas to walk. Right on the Brunswick River. Easy off and on from I-95 for one night stop over. I would stay again. Only negative was that they didn't seem to have a system as to where to park to register. We were the only ones checking in, but if more than one, it would have been awkward, you have to stack up. We camped at Blythe Island Regional Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Don Carter State Park, Gainesville, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Nice newer park, lots of amenities, but the water drains at each site were clogged with dirt, hard to dump the gray water, no sewer other than a central dump site. Nice trails around Lake Lanier and beach area, playground etc. We camped at Don Carter State Park in a Motorhome.

Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground, Swannanoa, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I can't say enough about this CG. The roads are very steep, so take a deep breath and step on the gas... There are 3 levels, we're on the second, site 25. Sites were close, but seemed private with cedar trees between sites. Gravel sites with a little grass, fire ring and picnic tables and some small trees at rear. The laundry facility was immaculate, you could have eaten off the floors, not a speck of dust! You will need to have a car here, as walking is extremely hard with steep inclines. The 3rd level was unbelievable with the views! You need to reserve 1 year in advance for 3rd level and in season. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring your hiking boots to walk around here. Visit Black Mountain, small town nearby with lots of charm, pubs and good food, easy to get to if you don't want the traffic in Asheville.

Sweetwater Lake Campground, Saint Matthews, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Nice for one overnight. Easy off/on from I-26. We could not get level no matter what we did, we backed in, drove in, and finally ended up parallel to the road. We were still not level, but gave up, it was only one night. You pull in, pick a spot and pay via the honor system. No sewer at site, but dump station near laundry/restrooms. All sites have a lake view, owner on site, seemed vigilant at keeping out non-campers. We camped at Sweetwater Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Renegades On The River, Crescent City, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Great place right on the St. Johns River. This campground/marina/tiki bar/restaurant are only 4 years old and family run. All the sites are brick pavers and grass between sites. There is very little shade, as the only trees are high queen palms. Small campground with some cabins to rent as well and a pool. Great if you don't have a car, there is a large restaurant with an outdoor deck and a large Tiki Bar with full bar and entertainment. There is a full marina wit boat rentals and more. Hard to be bored here. Close to Lake George, other than fishing and relaxing, it is a bit removed. Office is located at the rear of the property, hard to find and didn't know if we could drive the rig there, so double parked up front and walked to office. They need to mark better for unfamiliar visitors. We camped at Renegades On The River in a Motorhome.

North Beach Camp Resort, St Augustine, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $72.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great area, especially if you fish. The campground has a fishing pier right on the inter-coastal! It was a 4 minute walk to the Atlantic and beach and a 4 minute walk to the inter-coastal, we were in the middle at site 119. We did not have a car with us, so being able to walk to the beach was a plus. There were also 2 restaurants as well, one on the intercoastal side (Aunt Kates, good seafood) and one on the Atlantic side (The Reef), more upscale, really great. We only rated a 9 because everything was sand, a lot of tracking in to the RV. Sites were close, but very private due to the thick foliage. We camped at North Beach Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Rambler's Rest RV, Venice, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We had free nights from our RV Dealer, so we used 3 here for our first trip. Check-in was easy, very, very nice man assisted us. We were assigned to site N-21, a standard site with 50 amp service. All grass (grass a little long) and a picnic table. Seemed OK till we realized that were were surrounded by Park Models and no other Motorhomes. Some full time residents behind us walked through our site and had their dog off leash and didn't pick-up after it. They were partiers. The next day we were allowed to move to the W Section where there were a few motorhomes and TT's that seemed like they had been there for a long time. No real interaction with the campers, they seemd put off by a motorhome that was only going to be there a few nights. The campground was clean, but I would say 90% are Park Models, if this had been high season, the place would have been packed. We camped at Rambler's Rest RV in a Motorhome.

Encore Sunshine Holiday Daytona RV Resort, Ormond Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

We had free days from our RV Dealer and were learning, so we went close to home. This park seemed to get good reviews. We were pleasantly surprised, as it was clean and our site #84 was very nice. We had a grass area, but there was a concrete pad with a picnic table, so no mud and limited dirt tracking. The trash was near and the areas were very clean, including the pool. Nothing loud other than a train way off and airplanes from the small airport, but quiet at night. We stayed in the first circle, so mostly transient campers as opposed to some parks where there are too many full timers. All in all a good experience. We would go back. We camped at Encore Sunshine Holiday Daytona RV Resort in a Motorhome.
