Hide-A-Way Lakes, Yorkville, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

I started camping here last August after I had bought my rv. This was my very first time camping pretty close to home. At first, I though this place looks pretty bad however, I went up the hill and around by the river where full hook ups were. It was unbelievably NICE!! Very quiet and hardly no campers. I drove around and yes, around the office there are A LOT of run down and abandoned campers. I couldn't believe how HUGE this place was. For a "Tent Camper" this is the place!! Yes, some security officers were "sorta" scary, but once you get to know them, they are ok people. The guy in the office is very nice and helpful. Its not the owner's fault people leave their garbage everywhere!!! They should clean up after themselves. I have never had any problems camping here. Its been quiet and very peaceful!!! Yes, a little clean up would do wonders!! Again, Thats on the "Seasonal's and Yearlys". Again, its a campground!! I have never seen any criminal activity and I have been at this campground every weekend so far this year and every weekend from the time I bought my rv in July last year. Nothing, to show me, I wouldnt camp here. There is no check out time and again, it was quiet every time. Even, Memorial weekend this year, it was quiet!!! $35 a night for full hookups is very reasonable. I had an electrical problem, called the office and they were there within 20 min to fix the issue. Matter of fact they replaced the entire breaker. This campground is very peaceful and the people are friendly (the Seasonals and yearlys). I would recommend this place to family and friends all day and night. We camped at Hide-A-Way Lakes in a Travel Trailer.
