Silver Cove Resort, Silverlake, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to relax and unwind. Beautiful, quality RV park. Pride of ownership is evident throughout the park. Full hookups. Wide, spacious sites. Sites are "large rock" gravel but roads are paved. No dust issues. Series of waterways (canals) throughout the park with many sites on the banks of a waterway. Abundant waterfowl to watch. We stayed 4 nights in a travel trailer. Even though it rained on and off for several days, we plan to come back again next year. Nice lodge with patio overlooking end of a waterway. Yes, there's goose poo on the lawn areas, but we managed to step around it without too much difficulty. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Mt St Helens is the primary attraction. Approximately 40+ plus miles away on one of the most scenic roads we've seen in a while. We had good lunch at Fire Mountain Grill in Kid Valley (their deck overlooks the river!).

Crescent City / Redwoods KOA, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Actually made a good base for exploration of Crescent City and the redwood forests. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Restrooms and showers were very clean and modern. If the roads/sites were paved, or at least more gravel than dirt, I'd rate this as almost perfect. While our neighbors were close on either side, there was sufficient foliage to provide a sense of privacy. Noise, however, was not blocked at all. Thankfully, all observed the quiet hours and we were able to sleep with our windows open. They also have a variety of cabins that seemed nice. Some obviously old, some that are new. It was refreshing to see the staff expending effort to thoroughly clean the cabins near us. We would seriously consider staying in a cabin if we ever come back to this area without our RV. Their 10 acre forest (for tent campers mostly) was actually pretty cool. Be sure to walk through it. There are some massive and interesting redwood trees to see. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice little onsite store with ice, beverages, camping supplies, etc. If you are not in a rush, check out Crescent Seafoods restaurant. Small place withvery fresh and delicious seafood. It can take awhile to get your order, but it was worth the wait for us.

Armitage Park , Eugene, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

As an overnight stop, on our way to our destination, this was a very nice park. Paved roads, trees, grass, clean sites, good utility hookups. We had FHU pull thru. As others have said, staffed office hours do not coincide with check-in times. That being said, we arrived around 3:00p and had absolutely no issues driving right to our preassigned site and setting up. I only have a couple of "nits". First, the shower/laundry facility is kept locked. Since there is no one to check you into your site, you'll need to track down the host or office staff to get the code. Second, there were a few transient individuals roaming through the park. One came traveling through out of the bushes behind our site. We didn't experience any issues, just a little unnerving when you don't see them coming. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Armitage Park in a Travel Trailer.
