Ashaway RV Resort, Bradford, Rhode Island

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 3rd stay at this park. We really enjoyed our stay. We were here for 3 weeks. It is well maintained, staff was friendly, and has every amenity you could ask for. The location is great, close to beaches and a short ride to the casinos in Connecticut. No problems navigating the interior roads with our big rig. The driveway into the park is gravel and pretty rough and could use grading. The remainder of the roads are a mix of paved and gravel and are well maintained. Our site was fairly level and a generous size with grass, a picnic table, and fire pit. There are dog parks for large and small dogs. My only beef is that it is very expensive. Even in the off season after Labor Day it was still $70 per night with no discount for a weekly rate. I think for this reason, when we come back to this area next year we'll try to find somewhere more reasonably priced. We camped at Ashaway RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Delaware Seashore State Park, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We love this park. We've come several times over the last 10 years or so. This is the first time we've stayed on the North Side. The sites on the North side seem bigger than the South Side. We were in site 439, which gave us a view of the inlet and bay. The sunset views from over the bay were spectacular. There are walkways along the inlet and also through the parking lot and over the dunes to the beach. The beach is dog friendly, which is a big plus for us. The park is well maintained. There is a small laundromat with 2 washers and dryers. Interior roads are wide and paved and are easy to navigate with our 40 foot motor home. We'll be back. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

York Beach Camper Park, York Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

We finished a 10 day visit just before Labor Day weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, as always. We've been coming to this park for 13 years. It's an easy walk to Short Sands beach and all the shops. Most of the park is wooded, so the sites are shady and cool during the hot weather. The landing pad is gravel and the remaining site surface is wood chips. This particular site (12) is one of the smaller sites we've had here, but it was adequate for our big rig. We had no problem getting level. The gravel roads are well maintained and navigable in our 40 foot motor home. The hosts, John and Diane, couldn't be nicer. There's plenty to do in the area, and Diane can give you tips on local attractions that are hidden gems. We'll be back next year. We camped at York Beach Camper Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring a picnic to the top of Mount Agamenticus for gorgeous, long views of the ocean. Get lobster at Fisherman's Dock seafood market/restaurant on Route 1. They'll boil them for you and pack them to bring back to your site. Visit beautiful Nubble Light. Seacoast Brothers butcher shop on Route 1 has delicious meats all marinated and ready to throw on your grill.

1000 Islands / Association Island KOA , Henderson Harbor, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This park is unique. The KOA park occupies an entire small island in Lake Ontario, accessible by a causeway. Water views at most sites. The park is very well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. We were at site E03 on the sunset side of the island. Our site was large and grassy, two rows back from the water but elevated so we had a water view. No problems navitaging this park with our 40 foot motor home. This is our second visit, and we'll be back. Love this park. We camped at 1000 Islands / Association Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Arrowhead Marina & RV Park, Schenectady, New York

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

What a lovely park. The sites are grassy with crushed stone landing pads. We were in site 50, which was the end site where we faced a grove of trees with the river and marina beyond. There's plenty of green space and shade trees in the park, and it's beautifully maintained. Even though it's convenient to Interstate 90, there's very little road noise. We were sorry we could only stay one night, and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lampe Marina Campground, Erie, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very well maintained park with generously sized grassy sites and level concrete landing pads. We had water and 50 amp at our site. There is a dump station. We were met on arrival by the camp host and made to feel most welcome. We had no trouble navigating with our 40 foot motorhome. It's in a nice location on the waterfront with access to the marina, a park and walkway along the channel. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. Petoskey RV Resort, Bay Harbor, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $98.00
Overall Rating:

Truly a resort. Beautifully landscaped, impeccably maintained, all the amenities. We stayed here last year and were eager to return. It's pricey, but it's our summertime splurge. Located close to Petoskey, Boyne City, and Charlevoix which are all beautiful lakeside towns. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate. Grassy, spacious, level sites with concrete pads and patios. There is some road noise, but not enough to bother us. If I HAD to find fault, it would be that the laundry is small - 2 washers and dryers, but reasonably priced. We'll be back again and again. We camped at Petoskey RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping, Mackinaw City, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $58.00
Overall Rating:

Very nice park. The park is well maintained with friendly staff. Our site was set well back from the lake, but was generously sized with trees for shade. We needed 2 hoses to reach the water hookup. Many of the sites closer to the lake are tight, but there were some that might accommodate big rigs. Interior roads are all in good shape, some are narrow but doable in a big rig. There are large grassy common areas along the lake with picnic tables and benches, or bring your chairs down to sit in the shade and enjoy the view. There's also a swimming beach. The shuttle to the ferry left the park on time and we were picked up as soon as our ferry docked. We'll stay here again. We camped at Mackinaw Mill Creek Camping in a Motorhome.

Bay Ridge RV Park, Garden, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

What an absolutely lovely park. A hidden gem. It is situated on a bluff overlooking the lake. We had nice cool breezes off the lake every day, and there are plenty of mature trees for shade. There's a walking trail to the restaurant at the bottom of the bluff, which serves delicious food on the lakeside deck. The park is set way off the road, so it was very peaceful. It is well signposted from the highway. The roads in the park were easy to navigate in our big rig. Our camp host was a sweetheart. If I had to find a fault, it's that it took some effort to get level, but in the end we did. This will be a destination that we visit again and again. Don't miss it. Rippling River Resort Campground, Marquette, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

We were very disappointed in this campground. If you're splurging on the high price expecting a nicely landscaped RV "resort", look elsewhere. The place has resort "bones", but basic maintenance on the sites is lacking. I had to hold back a tree sapling that was leaning waist high across our site while hubby backed the rig in. Our site sloped downward in front so much we couldn't get level. The sewer hookup was behind the coach and uphill. Ummm...."stuff" doesn't flow uphill. The sites in the center of the park have no bushes or trees for privacy. The grass on our site was sparse with a big bare patch where someone had left a mat out in the past and no attempt had been made to reseed. The traffic islands in front of the office are knee deep in weeds. On the plus side the office/bar building, pool, hot tub, and communal fire pit by the river are nice, cabins look nice, staff is friendly, and location is close to Marquette. We won't stay here again. We camped at Rippling River Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Flying Goose Campground, Fairmont, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is an exceptional campground right on the lake shore. It's one of the best we've ever visited. Pride of ownership shows. The sites are big and grassy, the roads are easy to navigate, and everything is beautifully maintained. There are docks for swimming and fishing, and public benches to just sit by the water. You have plenty of mature trees for privacy and shade. It's set back well off the road, so when we sat outside all we heard was birdsong. We stayed 2 nights, but wish we could stay longer. We highly recommend this park. We'll be back. We camped at Flying Goose Campground in a Motorhome.

Mitchell KOA, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park. Sites were grassy with crushed stone parking pads and plenty of mature trees for shade. It's convenient to the highway, but we didn't hear any road noise from our site at the back of the park. The park is well maintained. Roads are wide and easy to navigate. Friendly staff guided us to our site. 2 fenced grassy dog runs. Pool and mini golf. We would stay here again. We camped at Mitchell KOA in a Motorhome.

Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort, Custer, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Big, beautiful, well maintained resort park with large grassy sites, very convenient to downtown Custer and all the Black Hills attractions. Quiet location. They are expanding and doing more improvements. Very friendly helpful staff. They were actively working on construction while we were here. The pool complex wasn't complete. Roads are wide and easy to navigate with a big rig. The roads and landing pads had been recently surfaced with a material that got very muddy when it rained. We complained and one of the co-owners contacted us to apologize and let us know the surface will be amended as part of the ongoing improvements. We would stay here again after the road surfaces are improved. We camped at Buffalo Ridge Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

We stopped here overnight. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The campground roads are easy to navigate. West Glacier KOA, West Glacier, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This is the nicest KOAs we've visited, and probably one of the nicest RV parks we've visited in over 30 years of RVing. The park is beautifully designed and landscaped, well maintained, and has every amenity you could ask for. Sites are large and grassy. We had a crushed stone parking pad and patio with a fire pit with benches as well as a picnic table. The park is set way back from the road, so it's quiet. We had nice mountain views from our site. About 10 minutes to the entrance to Glacier NP. Friendly and efficient staff. If I had to find a negative, it's the WIFI. It was slow and we kept getting dropped every 15 minutes or so. Not a biggie if you're on vacation, but we're full-timers so it can be important. No T-Mobile signal. We booked for 10 days, then stretched our stay to 2 weeks because we were so happy with the park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.
