Haggard's RV Campground, Pueblo West, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

I liked this campground. Owners were friendly and welcoming. Gravel spots, really nice size. This is high plains desert so no grass or shade. Very nice, quirky decorated walking path around campground. Our site was level. Great views for viewing mountains and watching sunsets. About 20 minutes from Pueblo and 45 minutes to Colorado Springs. Decent WIfi and Verizon. As stated on the website and when we made our reservation, need water filter and to use bottled water. I would go back. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail), Raton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small family run campground with fantastic views. Sites and roads are very well maintained, level and gravel. Most sites are very small however with just room for the picnic table (also gravel) and you have to park your car next to the coach. However, we did not mind as we sat faced out to the view. Verizon is non-existent, the camp Wi-Fi is marginal. There are bathroom and laundry facilitis which we did not use. Café is not open. Owner and staff friendly. Most people only stay a night or two or the weekend. We camped at Raton Pass Camp and Cafe (Formerly Cedar Rail) in a Motorhome.

Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Overnite RV, Amarillo, TX

This is an older park but overall was nice place to see Amarillo and it had some unique features that I had not seen before but this is as far west as we have been. First site we were on was level but second was not. We moved to have satellite access as we had an appt scheduled. Probably worked for Dish but not DirecTV. They were very nice and let us move. They have a few pet sites which have a chain linked fenced in area with the picnic table. Dirt and gravel roads could use some work but okay. Sites have a small garden with flowers or a tree. Must have been real pretty when first planted, now some need weeding or replanting, others are quite nice. Even so gives a nice natural feel to the park. Some sites have an awning over the picnic table for shade. Field next to park has prairie dogs. Park is near the airport and on the takeoff and landing flight path so planes are low and loud. Cool to see military planes. Did not hear any at night though. There is cable and Verizon was decent. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wichita Falls RV Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

I liked this campground. The sites have very long level gravel pull thrus and the roads are paved. Nice long patios and good amount of space between sites. Nicely maintained. Many sites have a tree on the patio side. Shade but still satellite access. Cable. Verizon 5 bars. No campfires as within city limits. You can walk along the Wichita River. Seasonals were in a different section that I did not walk through but looked like the difference was 2 back to back rather than long pull thru. We camped at Wichita Falls RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dallas Northeast Campground (formerly Dallas Northeast/Caddo Mills KOA, Caddo Mills, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are gravel with FHU 50 Amp. We leveled okay. Space between sites was okay. Picnic table, fires not allowed. Some sites have grass, ours not so much.

There is a catch and release lake that you can walk around. Nice amount of green space and well maintained. Verizon fantastic – 5 bars. Everyone friendly! Very nice campground. We camped at Dallas Northeast Campground (formerly Dallas Northeast/Caddo Mills KOA in a Motorhome.

Brookeland / Lake Sam Rayburn KOA, Brookeland, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground to come and relax. We stayed in the deluxe section 39 – 43 which were FHU 50A, very long pull thrus, nicely spaced, large patio for the picnic table and wrought iron chairs provided.

These sites are treed that provide shade but still able to position satellite to get DirecTV. The sites and roads are packed dirt, level and the campground is well maintained. Wi-Fi was good, as well as Verizon. Lots of trails around the campground for walks and also ATV. They also have a stable but there were no horses when we were there. Two pools and two ponds. The area is a boating area on the lake which is 5 -10 minutes away. Owner was to lead us to our site but suggested the deluxe section which was not available when we booked and put us there instead and also stopped by to check on us during our stay. Would definitely go back. We camped at Brookeland / Lake Sam Rayburn KOA in a Motorhome.

Timberlake Campground, Brandon, Mississippi

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the sites in the newer sections FHU 50A with long pull thru concrete pads but not much shade. The campground is in sections with monthly separate, all the water view sites were monthly. Several families of geese around. Luckily, they did not visit our pad, quite a mess on some of the other sites. Our section has lots of space between sites. Some road noise, plus we were next to the road that is the entrance to the campground. Okay place to stay to visit Jackson, MS or to stop overnight, but where we were would not enjoy just camping. We camped at Timberlake Campground in a Motorhome.

Sweet Water Campground, Loranger, Louisiana

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here to visit New Orleans (1.5 hours) and Baton Rouge (1 hour). Sites were FHU 50A, grass and packed dirt; roads were gravel and they were quick to fix the gravel after the couple of hard rains while we were there. Picnic table and fire pit were provided. No Wi-Fi and Verizon signal almost non-existent. Campground is older but well maintained. They have dinner Fri and Sat which was really good. Trails around the campground to walk. Pond for fishing and ducks around. They also had a pool. There are some seasonal campers, a couple of the trailers could use a wash but generally not unsightly. They have horse riding lessons for kids and trail rides. On Friday and Saturday evenings there is a viewing stand where they talk about the horses and watch them work with the horses and the kids which was fun. The owner was very welcoming and made sure we had a spot we liked. Original spot was full sun, another was unlevel but she found us some trees, level but with satellite access. I would definitely stay again. We camped at Sweet Water Campground in a Motorhome.

Parnell Creek RV Park, Woodville, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

The sites here are gravel and very level. There is grass for the picnic table and a fire ring. They are a decent size. This is a small park and rustic. It is next to highway 72 so there is truck traffic noise, we are pretty insulated so noise does not bother us. The owners were friendly and welcoming as were other campers. There are a few older permanent coaches but areas are neat and clutter free. There is a pool and mini golf. Verizon reception barely there. There is a cell tower fairly close must be AT&T. Did not check laundry or bathroom. We stayed here to see tourist spots in Huntsville. I'd go back if in the area. We camped at Parnell Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Graceland RV Park & Campground, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is what we call a city campground, parked side by side in street formation. 24 hour staffed security to get in. Spaces between sites not too bad. Sites were dirt and gravel and level, there was some grass. No fire pits (within city limits). You can walk to Graceland from the campground. Great place to see Memphis, there are shuttles to other attractions from Graceland and to Beale Street from the hotel across the street (also owned by Graceland). There is a very small pool; and a fenced in field that you can walk around; map says there is a trail but I never did find one, just mowed field. Avoid sites 1-5, they are back-in sites right by the office where the campers line up to check in. There is a lot of in and out every day and you may have to wait to get out, plus there is barely room for your toad. We camped at Graceland RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Talladega Creekside Resort, Talladega, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very small campground not a resort. 12 FHU sites and several cabins. There was no table or fire ring, No amenities beside kayak and tubing. Sites are grass, kind of close together. It is 30 minutes from Birmingham. OK place to stay if visiting the area or just for an overnight stop. Probably great for tent camping as the tent sites are beside the creek. Don't go race weekend, prices double. We camped at Talladega Creekside Resort in a Motorhome.

Little Cedar Creek Campgrounds and Cabins, Ridgeway, South Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small campground in 2 sections. Upper level where office is looks like all seasonals, all neat, nothing unsightly or cluttered. Some landscaping, a small playground, a pond. Lower section is where we were. You go back down the street to a different entrance. Owner guides you. There is a trail between the two sections. Actually, lots of trails around the campground. Second pond on lower section. Our site was gravel, mostly level. Picnic area is mulch. Not as much landscaping but maintained. Our site was a nice size. We were in site 6, 5 is huge. Our view was looking into the woods as were most of the sites. Owners were friendly, did not really see anyone else. No wifi or cable but decent OTA and satellite was fine. The campground website was down while we were there, but was up when I made the reservation. Check or cash only. I would stay again, peaceful and lots of places to walk. 30 - 45 minutes north of Columbia, SC. We camped at Little Cedar Creek Campgrounds and Cabins in a Motorhome.

Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA, Gaffney, South Carolina

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is well maintained. We had a level gravel site for the coach, grass for table. We had a deluxe site. Premium sites have a concrete pad. Other sites are in the trees and most of them are not pull thrus. You can pay extra for hi speed Wi-Fi. Lots of amenities, pizza and hot wings at office. Trails around the campground and 2 lakes. We were here for the Freightliner class; Freightliner provides bus pickup and drop off for class. Nice place to stay but overpriced since we don't use amenities. We camped at Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA in a Motorhome.
