Harrison Bay State Park, Harrison, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Clean campground with four large camping areas. We stayed in Area C in site #19 and our site was nearly level. We walked or drive though the other three camping areas just to see those conditions. Most sites are small to medium in size and most are close together and some looked difficult to access. We noticed a number of sites that were not very level and watched some campers work hard to get their rigs set-up. No sewer service but there is a dump station near the camp office. We camped at Harrison Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Cedar Creek COE, Mt Juliet, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Overall clean campground with lots of trees and good views of the lake. The campsites on both sides of the perimeter road have good spacing. The campsites in the "circle" drive areas are closer to each other but are not too close and some even have hedges/bushes between them. Nearly every site has trees and shade and are very close to level. Sites 15, 16, 41, 41 and 43 don't drain well at the front, (near the drive), so if you have rain you will have wet area in front of your rig. No sewer service but the dump station is easy to pull in to even in a big rig and it has water for rinsing. We would use this campground again if in the area. Never saw or heard from anyone associated with the park. We camped at Cedar Creek COE in a Travel Trailer.

Camelot RV Campground, Poplar Bluff, Missouri

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Lots of shade except for one area where large class A rigs are parked. Roads and campsites are all gravel but it's well maintained, no ruts. Most of the roads have some slope and some are steep however we walked the entire park and all campsites are level. The park is very clean and you can tell it is being taken care of. There is some road noise from nearby HWY 60 which is a busy divided highway but with a fan or any background noise in your rig you will not notice it. We are just passing through the area and needed a spot for one night but will certainly stay here again on another trip. It's a good bargain at $35. Note: There are a few reviews that complain about the "rules" here particularly regarding pets. We say Great! Firm rules that are enforced create a better experience for everyone and we appreciate it. We camped at Camelot RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Catherine State Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent state park for RV/Travel Trailer camping. Good spacing between sites. Loop A has more space between sites than Loops B and C but Loops B and C are closer to the lake and there are several piers for launching canoes or kayaks or for fishing. In Loop A sites 11 and 12 are at the top of a hill and are challenging to back-in to because you will have to back up a hill while turning in to your site. There are lots of trees throughout the park including many at the camp sites. There are three hiking trails that adjoin the park. They are well marked and offer some great scenery and wildlife to see. The park is only about a 15 minute drive into Hot Springs. We camped at Lake Catherine State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Clayton RV Park (formerly Clayton KOA), Clayton, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older park and is long overdue for an update/remodel. The sites were all grass and mud. The first site they sent us to was so rutted and unlevel that I requested another site and they quickly let me chose another site. The sewer connection was not tight and I was afraid it would leak onto the ground...Yuk. We were just passing through the area and needed a place for one night. If we go through Clayton again and need an overnight spot, we will just find a parking lot to use for a few hours. We camped at Clayton RV Park (formerly Clayton KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground in all aspects. This park was built in the mid-2000s and has good roads, lots of sites with full hook-ups and is very clean and has good spacing between the campsites. They charge an extra fee for each day you enter the park so that adds to the overall cost. Some sites are in full sun. We stayed in site #12 which is on a cul-de-sac and is great. The park has good trails for short or long walks and you will see lots of wildlife. All the buildings, showers and laundries were clean and well maintained. We camped at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Oak Mountain State Park, Pelham, Alabama

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This 10,000 acre state park is awesome. It has a lake, trails for hiking, bikes and horses, there is an archery range, campsites for RVs, trailers and tents. They even have a campsite for camping with your horse. And everything was very clean. We had plenty of space between us the and the neighbors. It was very quiet at night. Many of the RV sites have a separate area for a tent and fire ring. The property is thickly wooded with lots of shade. We stayed three nights in site #24 and it was nearly level. We will be back! We camped at Oak Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Baton Rouge KOA, Denham Springs, Louisiana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Good service. Convenient location to shopping and food. We stayed in site #5 for three nights. Sites are all level. It appears that sites #1 to #48, which are closest to the office/store, are for used for short stays. Sites #51 to # 121 for the most part look like long-term residents. The far back rows, sites #101 to #121, looked like a trailer park. All sites are close to each other. We camped at Baton Rouge KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Walnut Woods State Park, West Des Moines, Iowa

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park with about 25 camp sites. The camp sites are part of a larger public park. The area is thickly wooded and shady. The only negative about the grounds is that it is all very level with poor drainage. If you have any rain it will be messy. However, the roads are paved and each site has a concrete pad for your rig so you have good surfaces to walk on even if things are wet. Also on the plus side, all sites are plenty big and most have really good spacing between them. Most sites have only electric service and there are no showers. We camped at Walnut Woods State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wanderlust RV Park, Eureka Springs, Arkansas

Overall Rating:

Great campground for it's location to Eureka Springs, clean sites and restrooms, helpful staff and most sites have some shade. The only negative is that most sites are pretty close to each other. We will use this campground again! We camped at Wanderlust RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Fort Smith State Park, Mountainburg, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two nights in June of 2018. This park was completely rebuilt about 10 years ago so it is set up for large modern RVs and travel trailers but it only has about 30 RV/travel trailer sites. Every site is awesome! There is more than the standard amount of space between them and 2 or 3 are pull-throughs. We used site #27 and it was nearly level. The showers were clean and well maintained. There is a nice victor's center, pool, cabins and marina. The park has a few hiking trails that join the property and they are great. This park is first class. We camped at Lake Fort Smith State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Blowing Springs Campground, Bella Vista, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night in May of 2018. The site was clean and nearly level; we only had to do minor shimming. The sites are close together but there is adequate room for a few lawn chairs. There are a few trails that connect to the park and are good for short hikes and are easy to moderate skill level. The park is only about one mile from the highway and everything is paved leading to the park. We camped at Blowing Springs Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA, Oak Grove, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Close to I-70 and only about 20 minutes from Kansas City. There is some road noise from the interstate but it was not too noticable. The roads and camp sites are gravel so there is some dust. The staff was helpful getting us into our site and the campground was very clean. Most sites have some shade. This was the second time we stayed here and will do so again if we are in the area. We camped at Kansas City East / Oak Grove KOA in a Travel Trailer.
