Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park, Springdale, Utah

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay. Had gorgeous views from the campground all around. Colors w changing position of the sun were incredible. Just a short distance from the Visitor's Center of Zion National Park. Can walk or take the free shuttle which stops right outside the campground. Also easy walking distance to shops, galleries & restaurants of Springdale. Campground gets to use the pool of the adjacent Quality Inn. Only negative was the early morning motorcycle sounds from the nearby parking lot. Quiet period until 9am would be appreciated. We camped at Zion Canyon Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was a stop-over in our 26' motorhome without a tow vehicle. Pros: Neat & tidy grounds, pleasant hosts, pet area, quiet, small man made lake to walk by, beautiful view of the sky, grass all around, convenient for overnight stay, fairly level. Cons: Our site was in an open field, men's bathroom was not clean per my husband, women's okay, traffic sound from freeway, no trees near us. We will likely return but will ask for different site: 1, 3 or 5 would be to our liking. We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Charlestown State Park, Charlestown, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The campground was immaculate w varying degrees of privacy, shade & facilities. Paw Paw Loop was very inviting. Has full hook ups as well as electricity only sites w more privacy. Personnel very pleasant. We will return as an overnight stop. I didn't pick up on differences between sites when booking on the run with my iPad. Our site, therefore, could have been better but that's on me..Thank you. We camped at Charlestown State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Unsure how much ch there is to do in the area. Being in the camp was enough. Lots of space for walking or biking. Playground for kids, etc. Our dog loved all the well kept grass.

Lake Powhatan Recreation Area, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay @ Lake Powhatan. Very green & lush, lovely lake w new pier, relative privacy, dog friendly, quiet & peaceful. The stay gave us access to wonderful Asheville & surrounds. Will return. Couldn't have enjoyed it more. Tip: if you think you may want to extend your stay, reserve longer rather than try to add days @ last minute. Day after reservation stays are "first come first served" as well as booked off site. Even if camp hosts want to accommodate you, they can't. Just book extra if you might need/want more time. Thanks. We camped at Lake Powhatan Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA, Corbin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Pros: lovely area, nice hosts, clean & neat. Cons: traffic noise especially at night, no access to the lovely pool which was being serviced, the "Lake Trail" adjacent to the campground. Marked with a sign & discussed on the website. This is a very vertical path, irregular & rocky as well as slippery. Once we got to the bottom, a fisherman told us he had just "hooked a copperhead". It was floating dead in the water-large. We northerners got a bit skittish & scampered back up the hill. The trail is not for the physically infirm or snakeophobes. Wouldn't be our first choice for a return overnight stop. We camped at Corbin / Laurel Lake KOA in a Motorhome.

Blackhawk Valley Campground, Rockford, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay. Site was not level for our 25 foot motorhome. Few trees in our spot. Others w more permanent looking rigs, had mature trees & were lovely sites. Overall very well keep. Lots of space to run & activities for kids.

FYI, we had no tow vehicle. Nice place to visit. Would choose a different site next time. Maybe #51 or 52-end sites by the river. We camped at Blackhawk Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Ceraland Campground, Columbus, Indiana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed one night in a delightful camp site on the lake. Few people around. Really enjoyed ourselves until the guy with the mower woke us up shortly after 8am. Recommend this unexpectedly beautiful spot with mature trees, lake, many activities for those inclined. We camped at Ceraland Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Even though you drive among flat corn fields to get there, Cereland is a forested State Park type place. Could have been in northern Minnesota.
