Port of Kimberling Campground (formerly Waters Edge Cabin and RV Resor, Kimberling City, Missouri

Date of Stay: August, 2019 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Campground is accessible via Kimberling road off of the main highway. It is a bit tight but doable in our 41' 5th wheel. Check in at hotel. Campground has 3 areas. Main area where we stayed has mostly FHU - some tent spots. The second area is mainly electric only. Third by the marina is a few FHU, most electric. Campground is great. Clean bathrooms (looked new), some spots LOTS of space, some tighter. Water pressure low-we filled tank and used our pump. Many sites with water views. Great swim area, very nice marina with rentals. About 30 minutes from Branson, 15 minutes to Silver Dollar City. We will absolutely be back. Reserve early - nice campground. Water pressure was low. We filled our tank and used our pump for pressure. We camped at Port of Kimberling Campground (formerly Waters Edge Cabin and RV Resor in a Fifth Wheel.

Lee's Resort, Grove, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: July, 2019 - $87.00
Overall Rating:

We camped in our 41' fifth wheel. Found this resort via RV Trip Wizard and called all of the places around the lake (stayed over the 4th of July weekend - everything was booked). When I called, all they had left were permanent / long term sites (not the pull through sites). The owner explained that he has recently re-done the sites, put in new patios and curbs and would likely need to bring out plywood to help get me in the sites - I agreed. It is TIGHT for a big rig. Pool nice - boat rental great - owner + staff great. I'd stay again. If you are not good with maneuvering your trailer this place would be tough. Beautiful well maintained and making improvements. I'd recommend. We camped at Lee's Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mt. Princeton RV Park, Buena Vista, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

great RV park. owner had excellent recommendation on things to do with three kids. Clean bathrooms (didn't use showers - pay showers), great laundry facility, just redone picnic tables. Stayed in "premium" site so a bit bigger and nice grass pad between sites. Hot springs (pool / slide) near campground was really nice. Would absolutely stay here again. We camped at Mt. Princeton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Haggard's RV Campground, Pueblo West, Colorado

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

great location just west of Pueblo. Easy access to a lot of activities in the area. Owner was fantastic - helped me fill up propane at a very reasonable price. Nice (cool) pool. walking path around property. They tell you ahead - but reminder to BRING DRINKING WATER. theirs is fine for showers, etc...but lots of iron in water and it's rough to drink. Highly recommend if you're in the area. We camped at Haggard's RV Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

WaKeeney KOA, WaKeeney, Kansas

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We're not generally KOA type campers (prefer state parks, out of the way, etc.) - but this was FANTASTIC for what it is. Easy access off the highway, fuel at the exit. Great little restaurant (walking distance) from campground. Pull through sites, full hookups. 41' 5th wheel - no problems. Just redone pool (great) - working on patio off main building now. Bathrooms excellent. Nice pancake breakfast - nice ice cream social - highly recommend for overnight stay. We camped at WaKeeney KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Suncatcher Lake Campground, Leavenworth, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Suncatcher in May of 2019. Reservations were made over email and the owner was responsive. We stayed in site #13. The park is two sides of a small lake. The east side is older and the west side appears that the sites were created in the past few years. The advantage to the east side is that many of the sites are right on the water. Electric (50amp for us - but had a post with 50/30/20) worked fine. Water and sewer were good with good pressure on the water. Many of the sites (I'd guess 80%ish) appeared to be seasonal or long term. Our neighbors (long term) were very friendly. Good fishing on the small lake. Easy access to shopping (about 25 minutes from the racetrack and shopping area near Nebraska Furniture Mart). We were not sure what to expect - but would stay again as it's close to home and easy. We camped at Suncatcher Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Paradise Resort, Lone Jack, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed Labor Day weekend 2018. I was a bit concerned after reading all of the reviews - but honestly don't understand them. The park is old - it needs maintenance in a LOT of areas (I walked the entire campground, and would guess that about 1/2 of the sites are not usable). The property is huge, the lakes are great. The pool is big - is it 4 Olympic pools? NO! It's big and is great in that it is built out into the lake. The bottom of the pool had algae in certain spots - almost like they cleaned it in patterns. Anyway - it was not gross nor a problem for the dozens of kids and adults in the pool (I swam 2 days with my kids (12+14) and they loved it). It is $2/day to use the pool - seemed quite reasonable to me. Our site was #9 and we backed up to the lake. 50amp service was great - water pressure was fine. Full hookup site. Several in this area are only 30 amp so you need to ask. When buying firewood I did talk to the owner who was quite pleasant and was present the whole weekend. I did ask him how things were going and he is overwhelmed with maintenance and is looking to sell the property (has been for several years). After walking around - I understand the issue. My guess is that it would take millions to bring the park back to it's former glory - road work, water/sewer/power work. There is a mini golf course on the property that needs work as well as an overgrown baseball field / clubhouse. The restaurant has been closed for several years. There are a number (guessing 30ish?) full time trailers on site in various stages of disrepair. The people I walked by on my walks around the park were friendly. It is a tired property - but I will come back. Site was nice (not quite level but easy to correct), narrow (for my 4 slides and 41' 5th wheel), and pretty close to neighbors. The other 1/2 of the park only had one family on it - had it to themselves-not sure on their services. I'd recommend. We camped at Lake Paradise Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
