Stone Mountain Park, Stone Mountain, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very pretty campground and the closest to Atlanta I could find. But two things will most likely keep me from camping here again. First, on top of the not inexpensive campground rates, you have to pay a $20 parking fee upon entering the park. Second, the roads and pads are in bad shape. Tree roots have grown under the road, making it into an obstacle course not suitable for our motorhome. The same has happened with the pads, so they are not level, have lots of holes and ripples. We camped at Stone Mountain Park in a Motorhome.

Binder Park, Jefferson City, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Very small campground on top of a ridge, sites are shady, have covered picnic tables and have electricity and sewer. They also have water but you better bring a long hose, because the water is not where you'd expect it to be. I used the laundry and it was good. Would camp here again. We camped at Binder Park in a Motorhome.

Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park), Mount Vernon, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Very flat and level, has a pretty pond, a playground, some cabins, most sites are pull through. Sites close together and no picnic table, some have fire rings. Not a particularly attractive campground, but everyone here -campers and staff - were really friendly. This is a great place to stay for one or two nights. Not comfortable enough for longer. Full hookups. We camped at Archway RV Park (formerly Quality Times RV Park) in a Motorhome.

Singing Hills RV Park & Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

OLD campground, sites somewhat level, really crammed into odd places. Sites close to each other. Most sites have full hookups, our site was electric and water only, which worked fine for us. We did front onto a ditch and had to be very careful getting in and out of our motorhome. Great location if visiting Mammoth Cave NP. They have a small catch and release pond and a field for group tent camping. The owner is very nice and provides good information on things to do in the area. No laundry here, but there is a great laundry in Cave City. We camped at Singing Hills RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Mammoth Cave National Park is wonderful - take a tour underground, but also be sure to camp above ground. Lots of antique stores in Cave City.

Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails, Accord, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Very large campground with pool, snack bar, lots of games and occasional disc jockey. Not well maintained. Dirty bathrooms, big holes in gravel roads. Some sites have sewer but cost is the same whether or not you have sewer, then you have to pay extra for honey wagon. So actually more expensive if no sewer. Fellow campers very good about observing quiet hours and slow speed limit. Half or more if the campground is occupied by seasonals who have tons of stuff (junk) even their own landscaping. One of the two dump stations was out of order almost the entire time we were there. First come first serve for full hook up sites, but all cost the same. When you pay for honey wagon, non sewer sites become more expensive than sewer sites. We camped at Rondout Valley Resort Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.
