Mockingbird Hill RV Park, Burleson, Texas

Date of Stay: December, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park is mostly long termers or permanents, which makes it seem junky. Lots of nice trees and the pull throughs are very long and fairly level. But they are skinny. Cable has few channels and no local channels so we had to switch between cable and antenna. A good place for one or two nights. We camped at Mockingbird Hill RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Resort, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Very spacious sites, concrete pad for RV, asphalt for car concrete patio, gravel "yard." Easy access to Amarillo and wide roads in the park with great drainage. Laundry and restrooms are located throughout the park and are clean. Office area has a store and a playroom with billiards, ping pong, TV, couches, puzzles, etc. Park has cable TV and WiFi. We didn't use the WiFi. In season has outdoor pool. Sizable kids play space and large dog run. We camped at Oasis RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very close to Cadillac Ranch - be sure to take spray paint with you to this living art installation. Lots of movie theatres close by in Amarillo. There is also an RV Museum that you shouldn't miss. A 45-minute drive to Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

High Desert RV Park, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

Flat, gravel campground - very level. Sites are about double the width of our motorhome. Bathrooms/showers are available both in the main office building and another building in the park. There are three dog parks, and they're fairly spacious with seating areas for the owners. In the office building, there is a small store - necessities only - as well as a kitchen, two pool tables, a TV area, pinball machine and tables for putting together puzzles. The laundry area is very clean - there was one dryer that had burnt clothes in it and was not labeled out of order. That is my only complaint. The staff was nice, the people who long-term here are very friendly. It's located close to Albuquerque and it's easy to get into town. We camped at High Desert RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Albuquerque - the Smith's grocery closest to this campground doesn't have a great selection so we traveled further. Went north. Petroglyph National Monument is very close - walk the Rinconada Canyon Trail - a bit over two miles - to see lots of Petroglyphs. Cerillos State Park is also beautiful. Drive the Turquoise Trail to Santa Fe - stop in Madrid at the Mine Shaft Tavern for lunch - it's wonderful.

Homolovi Ruins State Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

The campground has a selection of pull-through and back-in sites. We had a pull through. Sites are paved and fairly level. Some sites have no electric, some have 30 amp and some have 50 amp. We had a 50 amp site. 30 amp would have saved us $5 per night. There are beautiful views from the campground. I recommend staying in the upper loop - the one farther to the north -for the best views. Very easy to get around. The only negative we saw was that we had to walk around the loop to get to the restroom - there is no trail crossing the loop and we didn't feel good about blazing our own. It's a very quiet, dark campground. We highly recommend. We camped at Homolovi Ruins State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The campground is a very short drive from Winslow AZ. We had a very good lunch and watched football at RelicRoad Brewery, and visited the Standin on the Corner Park. Grand Canyon is a two hour drive away so we did this for a day trip. Meteor Crater is within 30 miles. But don't miss the ruins inside the state park. These ruins date back to 1260 - 1400 AD. There are pottery shards and pieces of tools everywhere. It's fascinating.

Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: November, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Very level sites, nice size. Very long and wide. Each site has a bit of shade. Sewer is at ground level. There are some long-term campers but their sites are not junky and are in a separate area. Very nice and inexpensive laundry. Well located to visit Kingman. We camped at Blake Ranch RV Park & Horse Motel in a Motorhome.

Kingman - the Route 66 museum and the Mohave museum. Kingman Turquoise mines and sells turquoise. Camp Beale Loop is a beautiful hike. We chose not to go to the Grand Canyon West skywalk. It's fairly expensive and you're not allowed to take pictures.

Preferred RV Resort, Pahrump, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are gravel, full hookups. Sites appear pretty tight, but due to a creative parking plan, each site has plenty of room and privacy. Trash and recycling containers are conveniently located through the park. Wifi works very well. Multiple laundries through the park are clean and inexpensive. Only bad thing was that our site was unlevel and our sewer hose had to go uphill to reach the sewer hooklup. We camped at Preferred RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground, Joshua Tree, California

Date of Stay: October, 2019 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Funky sort of place. Nice spots, spacious with plantings to provide some privacy. The odd thing is that the toilets and the showers are in different buildings. There is a small fishing lake with some fun metal art around it. There's also a spot where a music festival is held. Lots of space for tents. Calm environment, great stargazing. I would definitely camp here again. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

So much to do here. Located close to Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, and Joshua Tree National Park. Besides the national park, the town of Joshua Tree is fun to visit. Twentynine Palms has lots of restaurants and I recommend 29 Palms Inn. Fan's Sports Bar and Grill is a great place to watch a game and their food is also very good.

Betabel RV Park, San Juan Bautista, California

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Some sites in this park have shade, plants and grass. Others are straight concrete. We were lucky enough to have a site with plants. The park is very well maintained, and the office staff is organized and professional. The laundry room is clean and inexpensive. Dog park is not conveniently located, but dogs are also welcome on the large grassy area in the front of the park. Sites are nice-sized and have full hookups. Lots of long term stayers at this park, but it is not junky at all. We had a very pleasant stay. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Motorhome.

Full hookups, gravel sites. Sites are small and roads are tight. Difficult to park. Very clean laundry and friendly staff. Dog park is laughably small. To walk your dog, you need to go out on surrounding streets, with no sidewalks. Most of the sites are permanent or seasonal. Some shade. We camped at Bay Pines RV Home in a Motorhome.

100 Mile Motel and RV Park, 100 Mile House, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2019 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

A good place for a quick overnight. Full hookups, laundry room is clean and inexpensive. Entry is difficult if you're long and towing. Pull through site was only long enough for our 38 foot motorhome, we had to unhook. The four pull through sites are neat and well-tended. The sites around the fence are crowded and junky. Looks like there are lots of long termers. Cable only available on the fence sites, and only for those staying a week or longer. We camped at 100 Mile Motel and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Sites are gravel. Some are fairly level and some are not. Our site was very narrow, but others are quite spacious. Looks like management has created some single sites out of two. Lots of trees and wildflowers. Bathrooms/showers/laundry in two locations so you're never very far. Laundry was $2 wash, $2 dry. Wood and ice for sale in the office. Conveniently located - only 10 minutes to Glacier National Park. This campground also has tent sites and a playground. We camped at Sundance RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
