Niagara Falls / Grand Island KOA, Grand Island, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $109.00
Overall Rating:

Access roads were dusty. Originally assigned site was so tight, I would not have been able to open a slider without hitting the RV next to me. The attendant was gracious enough to move us to another site that worked just fine. There were a ton of amenities if you had children but we were there simply to see Niagara Falls and Ft Niagara so there weren't a value to us, especially at that price! We camped at Niagara Falls / Grand Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Canandaigua / Rochester KOA, Farmington, New York

Date of Stay: June, 2019 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

Tight turns in and out of sites. Verizon very spotty. No cable. Could only get NBC with RV antenna. Owners were really nice and helpful. They fixed an erosion issue on the patio almost immediately. We camped at Canandaigua / Rochester KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Granger Homestead &carriage museum and the Sonnenberg Garden & Mansion, were both well worth the very modest entrance fee. The Cheshire Farms Creamery in Canandaigua, has excellent light lunch menu items and ice cream to die for.

Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA, Natural Bridge, Virginia

Date of Stay: April, 2019 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Lower level of park is all gravel, no grass anywhere. Level sites with good water pressure, TV reception and adequate wifi. Surprisingly quiet as close to Rt 81 as the camp site is. We camped at Natural Bridge / Lexington KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Going into the very historic town of Lexington is well worth the trip. Be sure to stop by the visitor's center first to get your bearings and good tips on what to see. We went to the Natural Bridge state park the beginning of April and it was really crowded even then.

Smoky Bear Campground, Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $57.00
Overall Rating:

Not sure why such high ratings. Substantial traffic noise, probably 1/4 of sites too uneven for class A or C RVs. Shower stalls, while clean, are really tiny. Loose gravel sites. We camped at Smoky Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Joe Wheeler State Park, Rogersville, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Very much a campground ambiance, lots of trees, barking dogs, and for some reason, lots of golf carts. Electrical posts are old and not very safe. We camped at Joe Wheeler State Park in a Motorhome.

Deerlick Creek COE, Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

If you want to go to a place with a "woodsy" setting and complete peace and quiet, you could not find a better place at any price. Great hiking, biking and I guess fishing (except we don't fish). We camped at Deerlick Creek COE in a Motorhome.

New Orleans KOA, River Ridge, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Very small sites. Road around to the back of the campground is not good at all! Restrooms and showers were immaculate. Park personnel were very nice and accommodating. We camped at New Orleans KOA in a Motorhome.

Cave Country RV Campground, Cave City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: March, 2019 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Spartan but neat. Value is definitely the proximity to Manmouth Caverns National Park. We used the laundromat. Only one dryer was working. A Walmart was about 6 miles away and the closest place for groceries. We camped at Cave Country RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Charlottesville KOA, Charlottesville, Virginia

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

No Verizon service, no cable TV unless you have a TV with QAM. Individual camp sites are poorly marked. The folks were nice and very accommodating. They let me use their cell phone (AT&T) since I had just Verizon. There should have been some mention in their website of cell phone coverage and limited cable TV reception. It was a great central location to see Monticello and James Monroe's plantation as well as hiking in the nearby Walnut Creek park. Enterprise will come out to the campsite if you wish to rent a car. Sites are really close together. We camped at Charlottesville KOA in a Motorhome.

Jim Thorpe is a really neat town. Roads through town are extremely narrow. Navigating with an RV, not restful.
