Volunteer Park Family Campground, Heiskell, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great site. Was a bit unsure about the camp before we arrive but it was close to friend we were going to visit. The camp was packed when we came (Sunday of the long weekend in Sept.) but people left the next day. A pool was refreshing for swimming. Site was great. Concrete pad. People friendly. We camped at Volunteer Park Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Lake Louisa State Park, Clermont, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Oh. My. Goodness. Amazing place to stay and about 30 minutes from Walt Disney World. We should have gone there first during our trip to Florida (Stayed at Wekiwa State Park for 14 days first). We stayed about 7 days at Lake Louisa. Would not recommend to swim in Lake Louisa.... huge sign inform you of the presence of gators. The water is quite warm too and brownish color. It takes about 7 minutes to drive from the main road up to our campsite. Saw wildlife on the side of the road while there. We will definitely go back to this place in the future. We camped at Lake Louisa State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Beware of fire ants. They did not came in the RV or on the RV. But they bite. Also some spiders will bite too! I would not walk barefoot there. Bring some ant killer product in your RV to secure the area around your RV.

Wekiwa Springs State Park, Apopka, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Fabulous site but quite humid in August. Humidity was very high when we went and the trees made it feel like a jungle. Site was spacious. Spring is very cold and wild animals walk free around the area. We crossed the path of deers quite often during our 14 days stay. Saw a raccoon at the spring. They also do controlled forest fire there and they burned the forest around the campground while we were there. It was fascinating to see. We camped at Wekiwa Springs State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Fort McAllister State Park, Richmond Hill, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Fabulous place. Driving through the marsh to get to the campground. Pull-through side. Stayed one night. Deers in the area. Saw majestic birds as well as little crabs near the marsh. Marsh smells a bit like ocean. We camped at Fort McAllister State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Camping World Racing Resort (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway CG), Concord, North Carolina

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

BEST camping World spot EVER! During our trip from Ontario to FLorida we were planning to stop at Camping World because of our experience with these stores in upstate NY. We quickly discovered that NOT all Camping World stores offer traveller to stay overnight and definitively do not have electricity/water/sewer. After finding two that did not allow us to do so (though one offered dry camping to us), we arrived at this place and had an amazing experience. Gravel lots, electricity/water/sewer with showers close by. Fabulous! We had a great night. And it was FREE - the section we were in anyway. We camped at Camping World Racing Resort (formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway CG) in a Travel Trailer.

Interstate Campground & RV Center, Byron, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Price was reasonable. Close to the Interstate as the name would make you realized but the noise wasn't disturbing. The owner was nice and the bathrooms were clean. We stayed in the pull-through area with our travel trailer for one night/ However, the main reason why we are giving a poor is that we had an infestation of ants - all over the RV outside and inside after ONE night stay. Not fun to deal with this before leaving the next morning and the following day. Bring some ant killer product with you to avoid the ordeal of dealing with an infestation of ants like we did. We were staying one night and the outside of the RV was covered with ants the next morning and many were found inside as well. Took us 2 days to deal completely with these ants. We camped at Interstate Campground & RV Center in a Travel Trailer.
